Toun2nl:There is nothing wrong with this....80% of apple sales comes from overseas. In fact all the multinational firms in the United States over 60% of their sales comes from overseas. This estimates are still growing as the firms keep expanding; entering new markets. This is one of the advantages of a Free Market 1 Like |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by onegentleguy: 8:44am On Oct 31, 2022 |
sky2891: Just saw the report and in minutes, over a dozen fellows have sent me messages expressing their concern with the negative NPM in Q3. Here's what you should know; It was a poor 3 months report, but better performance over the course of the year. (remarkable improvememt in 9-months compared to the preceding yr) Like other coys in the sector (GUINESS, NB) It was difficult to maintain their Q2 growth trajectory due largely to variable cost-related inputs. However, magt was smart enough to follow through with a nDFC to mitigate fx-induced risk on future repayments while maintaining an aggressive delaveraging push. Again, there's the huge investments in capex. (ref: over 58% jump/outflow from previous yr guide) I am strongly bullish on INTERBREW. My bet is on this one! I still LOVE what I see in the their SCF and BS. The progress made is remarkable! This might actually be the last opportunity to align with INTERBREW. Q4/YE report will open people's eyes to what I've been saying about this coy. For those in; HOLD and be overprotective of your stake. But pls FEEL FREE to sell off your stake if you so desire. We shall look to ACCUMULATE more from those who might want to focus only on the coys SPL without due consideration to SCF and BS. I'll repeat what I said in time past; Buying INTERBREW @ N5 is like purchasing a bottle of Grand Malt for <N30. Again, BUY... ACCUMULATE... HOLD! CAVEAT: Due diligence still applies as always. 1 Like |

thesilentone: I don't know about the resistance to deductions. I'm only buying to avoid holding cash. Because I have seen that cash has no purpose in an inflationary environment. Better I continue to get cashflow through dividends and spend that cash than holding just cash. At a point CBN and other central banks will not be able to raise rates as inflation spikes. This will be the "siddon - look" moment for them. 5 Likes |

RabbiDoracle: Oga Oracle, with rising inflation, the stock market is expected to tank, People are more likely to move more into fixed income instruments. I expect the market to tank heavily this November/December. There will be post-election bounce in February for a couple of weeks after which ASI for year 2023 is expected to end on a negative note. I think a longer term approach is more realistic. 6 Likes |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 10:50am On Oct 31, 2022 |
Agbalowomeri: Fixed income is fixed earnings. 15% interest vs 20% inflation rate. If inflation goes to say 80%, will interest be raised to 80%? Answer is no. So where inflation keeps going higher, higher interest rates will cripple businesses. So CBN will do nothing and just siddon dey look. Examples where central banks are currently sitting down and nothing (as regards saving rates/interest rate) as inflation continue to grind higher can be seen in Turkey, UK, EU, Japan etc. So when it gets to that point, financial repression starts where your money loses value rapidly (low interest rate on deposits, constant depreciation of local currencies). So the people will have to find ways to grow their money and that will be buying commodities that people must eat, use, wear or they are stuck with cash. That is why people rush into buying cars, houses, equities of companies that produce things, gold, silver. 5 Likes |

Agbalowomeri: As could be seen globally, USD is strong and that is having effect on already high stock Western market thereby causing a sharp decline. When rate hikes destroy businesses and cause financial instability amongst Western financial institutions, Fed and other central bankers will actively step in and save all the institutions as could be seen in the case of Credit Suisse, UK pension, Japanese companies, Chinese institutions. And when USD starts to fall against all other currency pairs, remember that inflation is still rising and this will exacerbate the inflationary pressure. This will create huge inflation in the US. Where will the citizens keep money? Back into the stock market! At these period, stock rise gets very aggressive. And when Fed comes back much later to raise rates again, stock falls aggressively. 3 Likes |

Unfortunately, we may be stuck in this environment till 2029. A yo-yo movement in and out of inflation just like in 1970s. It is usually a decade of myriads of events. As one finishes, another starts. So having a plan will be beneficial and go a long way to helping you make money during financial repressive environment like this. My 2 kobo. 2 Likes |
