Lebanon: President Aoun signed a decree ordering the dismissal of the current government Today, the President of Lebanon left the Presidential Palace in Abbada for the last time as President, on the eve of the end of his official term. A replacement has not yet been chosen for him and the last action he decided to take as president is to sign a decree ordering the dismissal of the transitional government headed by Najib Mikati. Mikati claims that the move is legally illegal. In any case, Lebanon is now without a president and with a de facto dysfunctional transitional government. There is no light at the end of the tunnel. Turkey & the UN agreed to sail 14 ships carrying grain from Ukraine, which will be under the protection of the Ukrainian forces within the previously agreed exclusion zone and then escorted by the Turkish military. Russia announced last night that it is "not bound by anything" regarding the unilateral decision by Ukraine, Turkey and the United Nations to transfer ships with Ukrainian grain and agricultural products, even though Russia announced the termination of the agreement.
