Lols, look at this man defending the mannequin in Aso Rock because he's a Muslim. Lols. You're defending your fellow religious bigot.

Is it news that almost all Nigerian politicians are worse than animals, especially Buhari, Obasanjo, and Babaginda?

So you're wiser than the great Fela that called Obj an animal?

And someone would tell me religion isn't one of the major problems of this shithole.

Indeed, Nigerians deserve the kind of leaders they've.

See Stockholm syndrome in full display cheesy
Gibberish as usual from the low budget Wole Soyinka. You don't have the range to engage me you will still change to another account and live in denial again to preserve your newfound identity.
Fela may be better than you but he's not better than me.

Lols, just what I expected from a brainless religious bigot. Have you worshipped your slave masters (Saudi) today?

You'd be their slave forever. No be curse

These are the type of people that vote political candidates based on religious lines. They vote their fellow head slammers into power, so those ones will propagate Islam and defend Saudi's religion in Nigeria.

Does Saudi's language, Arabic, have any place in the national currencies? Are we an Arab nation?

The bigots condemn the local/indigenous cultures and traditions and promote the indigenous cultures and traditions of their slave masters, Saudi.

Nigeria is supposed to be a secular state, but I don't know when people like this will be intelligent enough to separate religion from the state like advanced countries had done in the past.

How will the country move forward when head slammers like this vote a political candidate into power simply because he's a fellow head slammer (Muslim)?

The thing called religion should be the very last consideration when choosing a leader.

Backward thinkers don't know that just like debris resists the flow of electrons (electric current) within a material, religion resists and limits the development of a country.

How then do you keep the thugs on the street pacified?

There's no employment for them, and they are mostly unemployable anyway

There's no state police. The actual police are also underfunded legally empowered criminals and hoodlums.

LASG's only optionis to continue to expand transportation options through more BRT coverage, trains, boats, etc whilst managing the agbero situation and preventing it from getting too crazy.

Ultimately the bus drivers will have the pass tje cost on to commuters until such a time where the LASG transport network coverage achieves parity(if ever) with the molue/danfo/korope coverage of today.

Abandon all hope all ye who enter or dwell in Nigeria, these problems will not be solved in your lifetime, although there may be a small chance that your grandchildren have it better...

Is it now the job of the government to pacify thugs they empowered?

The truth is the government can get rid of these guys if they really want to, but we all know they won't cos they come in handy during political seasons. The downside to this is that hardwork is being downplayed and with time u will see more and more commercial drivers abandoning their buses to become thugs themselves. I have friends who learnt trades like fashion designing and barbing immediately after secondary school and they did practice their trade. Today they have abandoned the trade and have since joined NURTW to be collecting money in the parks.(At least I know two of them like that I still see regularly)

As regards Lagos State expanding Transportation options, trust me it won't solve anything. The population of Lagos has exploded much more than u can imagine. Let's take Ikorodu for example, the number of people travelling from Ikorodu to Lagos Island on a daily basis is just too much for whatever the government can plan to handle. I mean Ikorodu has a jetty where speedboats move from their to the island on a daily basis, has a dedicated BRT lane and car owners also use their private vehicles to hustle to and fro work. If Lagos state government decides to run a rail line to Ikorodu, buy modern trains, buy more speedboats, and even buy more BRT buses; It still won't solve the transportation problem in that axis.

I mean places like Agric Isawo road, Imota, Igbogbo, Ijede, etc are very big towns in their own right with thousands of people commuting those axis on a daily basis.

The point I'm trying to make is that the people will still have to rely on privately owned commercial buses to go about their daily lives and all those drivers are asking for is that they pay a reasonable fee as tax to the government and their cronies; not losing 46% of their income to those urchins.

I just hope the drivers can sustain the strike and force the hand of Lagos State government to do something about the excesses of those lazy urchins headed by MC Oluomo.

I mean the Lagos state government banned NURTW in the state, pegged the transport tax to be paid by commercial drivers at ₦800 and we all thought maybe there will be some sanity in the activities of those guys. Unfortunately that has not changed anything, in fact drivers are being forced to part with more than their own profit sef.

I listened to a radio programme today and a commercial driver sent in a text narrating their ordeal. He carries full load for ₦12,600, pays ₦4,000 at the park he loads, he will pay for dropping passengers at Iyana Oworo and Oshodi bus stops. He said the total he pays out of the ₦12,600 to agbero is ₦5,800 then he buys fuel for ₦3,500. At the end of the day he will only have made ₦3,300 on that trip.

Can u imagine parting with a whole ₦5,800 to people who do absolute nothing and he the driver who wakes as early as possible to hustle for his daily bread only makes ₦3,300 from the trip.

This is the kind of nonsense people defend. Even those of us working in formal settings don't get to part away with 46% of our gross income as tax.

If Lagos state government can form a task force that arrests traffic offenders, why can't they have a task force that ensures only the ₦800 announced earlier this year is what motorists are made to pay per day? We all know they won't do that, instead they will turn a blind eye to it and allow MC and his boys do as they like. I saw a tweet from that Gawat boy reacting to the strike and he said " They( the transport workers) have a dispute amongst themselves and it will be sorted out". That should tell u that the government allows this impunity to continue to happen.

This brings me to the argument we had the other day when you guys were manufacturing numbers from thin air showing how commercial bus drivers are hitting it big.

Till you actually have to do the driving you will never understand how difficult it is to properly maintain the vehicles from what is left after all expenses.

I don't have the time to waste engaging a slave, so I didn't bother to read this nonsense of a post.

I'd be happy to engage you when you're intelligent and brave enough to free yourself from the mental slavery of religion.

Wike must be delusional if he actually thinks he can be the president of this country called Nigeria in the nearest possible future .

The man called Wike don too shiiiit for church Abeg. This is a man that has constantly called the bluff of the northern oligarchy ; he’s called them out on a number of issues especially their hypocrisy on the sharia police destroying bottles of beer while they still partake in the VAT realized from sales of alcohol in other secular states .

Now I’m not saying Wike calling them out is wrong , but I doubt these same people would allow Wike be president of a country that includes the northern elites and their serfs who listen to the elite like they are listening to God .

The same way u see the top 3 candidates now marching to arewa house to defend their “2023 thesis “ is the same way ur man Wike will be summoned and he will be asked questions as to what he has in stock for the “arewa” . I wonder if Wike will remain his brash self while answering those queries .

I also share your views. He may just have to go the Odili route forgetting about national politics.

Nobody says it's easy, but my point that day was that those drivers being aware of the so many expenses pegged to their income still keep multiple girlfriends(whom they will surely lose part of their meagre income to) , play sport betting and lotto, spend much money on booze, etc which all together makes it impossible for them to maintain their vehicle

The money is for them and their numerous gf's ; the government is supposed to get only ₦800 daily per motorist.

Recently I witnessed a driver who loaded ₦400 per passenger in a 14-passenger bus pay ₦2,000 out of the total ₦5,600 he collected. And he hasn't even bought fuel o.

Below is what the drivers are complaining about ( which should actually make sense to any reasonable person)

It seems much have changed in these modern times. I saw pictures from RCCG's recent conference for Oba's and I was confused. At best I'm hoping these men who have their heads not covered are chiefs and not kings in the actual sense of it sha

Bruh the inefficiencies in the system are by design because that's the only way to provide some sort of income to the underclass in a country that produces nothing, and whose economy is entirely based on massive corruption, political patronage, drug running, and a struggling service industry.

LASG did not create thugs. They are just pacifying them. Ibime has already told you what the alternative is - it's either banditry, kidnapping or militancy.

Look, if Nigeria dared to operate as even half efficient country, there would be massive societal breakdown.

Go to any airport in Lagos and see the amount of people 'working there - from the one selling you face mask to the one telling you where to park, from the one selling trolley ticket to the one whose job Is to push trolley, from the airport police at the door to tne customs and immigration people loitering around - then go to almost any airport in say Europe or Yankee and compare, you will see that most of these jobs only exist so that people are prevented from completely starving to death.

These inefficiencies are social palliatives in a dysfunctional ultra-capitalist society like Nigeria with little social welfare programmes. You need to accept if for what it is cheesy

A king can be at peace with all the different religion faithfuls, but he should always be true to his traditional religion which makes him the custodian of the people's cultures and traditions
