Monday Football: Naija Lads in Focus

Francis Uzoho kept his first cleansheet today since his Man Utd heroics. Manned the goal for all 90 in Omonia Nicosia's 2-0 league win over Anorthosis Famagusta.

Since the Man Utd game, he kept goal vs Nea Salamis (league, 0-1), Pafos (League, 0-3) and Real Sociedad (UEL, 0-2) conceeding 6 times. Today was his first cleansheet since the Old Trafford masterclass and 1st also of the season for Omonia in 7 games across all competitions (6 starts).

Azubuike Okechukwu finally made his first appearance of the 22/23 season today for Istanbul Basaksehir as he came off the bench in the 84th min in his side's 3-1 win over Giresunspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

you are right about the annoying part especially on Simon. Simon plays on a single mode which is playing on a particular style till people begin to swear on him. When he is on a dribbling mode he dribbles so much that he forgets his assignment on the field and when he decides to stop dribbling he plays like those kick and rush English bred players used to play before foreign coaches started coming to england. It even seems almost all our wingers have a consistency problem. Chukwueze, Kalu, Simon, ejike and onyekuru. These one's problems is knowing when not to dribbles. Alhaji Musa's problem is mostly running ahead of the ball. God knows what kind of player he would have been if he had salah's type of control. Dennis is really that much a regular in the gwg and lookman looks decent. maybe it would be better if we move ahead from this wing based type of football. It's sad watching the team struggle when the opposition shuts down our wings. Hopefully pj will start something of that sort before he leaves
Sir,hmmm, with Musa, Simon,Chuckwueze, Dennis, Lookman, Onyekwuru, Ejuke and Kalu and we are still having issues then we need to question national team coaches.I watched Lookman and Chuckwueze recently and i want to say they are good enough for any eagles formations.

I agree .. we need a more direct approach... Lookman and Dennis would have been my idea wing forwards to play alongside Osimhen, but Dennis hasn't been playing much this season,so I think I'll go with Chukwueze... Ejuke is one player that could metamorphosis into a deadly winger if he could learn to be more productive...

Chukwueze is not better than Dennis and is a player with limitations can only play as an outright winger not much else. How many goals has he scored this season ?

Dennis is far more versatile and a much better goal threat.

If ejuke learns to be productive he will be like ousmane dembele.
Really the difference between him and dembele is intelligence and decision making. When to pass when to dribble playing for th team etc

the opposition never shuts down our wings.. it is Simon and Chukwueze that holds on to ball for long that was shut down, all Simon and Chukwueze has to do is pass to another player or cross the ball into the box or do a one-two with another player.

TSN's 2nd appearance on Naijafootballers TV show

So yeah, I did say my being on their show will be kind of a regular feature from now on.

We spoke about Osimhen's Hattrick over the weekend, The Flamingoes' bronze medal achievement at the U17 WWC, the Super Eagles' upcoming friendlies and ofcos we touched on the Super Eagles' Central defensive matter.

So uhmmm... Yeah, Enjoy... if you interested.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X03jATF-6mQ

Bonus: Hey, BascoVanVeli, off camera, while the "behind-the-camera" crew were watching the highlights of the Flamingoes and U23 Olympic Eagles games on the studio's big screen, we practically spent time talking about you. Lol

Why? because we were watching it via your channel, NaijaBias Football. wink

Guy, your accent and workrate got them. Especially your usual "Alright" and then "mooo" ending. Lmao

They were stunned to understand you be my guy from NL here sef.

How I put it? "BascoVanVeli na my guy naa... from NL. Never met him face to face though but he's a Top guy really doing a lot for Nigerian football especially from the local front."

So man, they said a lot but just know that you are appreciated by nearly EVERY MAJOR Football media outfit. Trust me. You truly are.

Just keep up the brilliant work and keep growing strong.

At least, I dey do my part dey advertise you. Lol

true but then so far you are not an official authority on the ranking of leagues in Europe , I'm afraid your opinion does not become fact. And besides is it a crime to check up on the progress of Nigerian players in Europe especially those that have donned the green white green? This thread is a fans corner we are not the handlers making the team lists

well as far as this season goes chukwueze should get the nod over Dennis. Dennis has been awful this season managing just 1 goal so far. I'm not sure he was signed as a priority for Nottingham forest at all given that out of his 8 apps this season 6 were as a substitute. Ejuke is still trying with his 3 assists so far this season.

They better win the next tie vs Sundowns. Nothing special about them. Looks like they got more shots at Dlamini than Super Falcons did vs South Africa at Wafcon.

It's a mix Dan. Some players from the CHAN Team, then some from the U23 team and a few, if any, fringe foreign based lads in leagues outside the top 5.

Sunday Faleye was also called up according to other reports I got. I understand they depart on Thursday or so.
