I honestly believe this could have been dismissed if a good lawyer has represented them. And here is why:
The 1999 constitution of Nigeria addresses the right of every Nigerian citizen under the law. For an example, section 39 states: (1) Every person shall be entitled to freedom of expression, including freedom to hold opinions and to
receive and impart ideas and information without interference.

Whatever these two guys say about the governor of Kano, it falls under section 39 of the 1999 constitution of Nigeria.

So much for democracy. This Northerners are not to be trusted with ones destiny.

The North is the most repressive and backward region in Nigeria. They detest the relative freedom of expression in the other parts of the country and want to impose their repressive culture on the rest of us, but they WILL NEVER SUCCEED. The difference between the Southern Youths and the Northern youths is clear: The former are more expressive, ambitious, confident, funny, and outgoing while the latter are more laid back, withdrawn, settle easily for the minimum, and conservative. Their leaders want to keep them so.
