@Raumdeuter...a good manager is judged not by the amount of resources available to him, but by how well he used them.

You are still trying to convince the tribalist? grin

Obi's legacy in education in the state still stands strong. Obi's legacy on rural infrastructure in the state still stands strong.

Anambra state had the lowest out of school children in the country. Anambra state has one of the lowest poverty rate in the country.

Peter obi is the only governor not to borrow a dime throughout his stay in office.

Peter obi is a man of relative integrity, he personally closed loopholes via which state government politicians could Siphon public wealth. What you see in Lagos and port Harcourt where the state funds is party funds and public bonanza is totally non existent in Anambra state.

This man did not seek further personal aggrandizement like his fellow politician does. The only South East governor not to seek senate terms and bogus pensions.
Impressive, and I heard one of Tinubu's legacies is the ridiculous remuneration ex-governors earn. He crafted one for Lagos, and other governors copied and did same; that's largely why we see states struggling to meet with recurrent expenses yet former governors and deputy governors stay living large off the state resources.

I've been trying to move money to Nigeria for a week an a half now with no success.

Because its a business deal and the sum.is substantial, I need it to be on the books with a full paper trail to the beneficiary Dom account.

Omo this shït is like passing kidney stones.

The bank wants me to move money through their corresponding bank in London to their recipient bank account with the intermediary, before they would credit beneficiary in GBP.

Only I finally found out this morning after a 3 way call between recipient bank manager, myself, my partner and my own Bank manager that CBN has stopped banks from.crediting forex into Dom accounts, particularly at such sums. Instead the bank manager was trying to get us to pay into their account and get credited in Naira...at CBN rate.

CBN has tightened every angle, and I'm sure that must be contributing significantly to the dramatic uptick in demand for forex.

I'm now half tempted to just book a flight to lagos this weekend and declare my cash. It'll be cheaper and probably less stressful than doing a simple bank transfer.
Have you tried tradesystem

You will still have to move it to the bank third party in UK

Considering the size of the funds, please be careful with involving an intermediary/ 3rd party in this situation because of CBN’s fragile and ever changing policies before you get hooked.

CBN has not only tightened FOREX transactions, they are also monitoring very heavily and have Nigerian Banks under a ton of pressure to report certain transactions and place them on hold.

What bank are you using in Naija. Did you try Standard Chartered? I have used them for similar transfer before and it was seamless though the time might be different and the amount would definitely be different. The amount I sent was under $100k

I think his main problem is with the rate. Baba wants to squeeze as much naira from every pound as possible cheesy

Using standard chartered will mean using the CBNs official rate

How well did Obi use the resources of Anambra

Tinubu not only managed the cake he grew the size of the cake. Tinubu increased Lagos IGR significantly
He launched BRT Lawma and many projects in use today that is making Anambra people flee from their state to Lagos

I beg to differ. Both of them failed. It's just a matter to which degree.

It's also important to note that many people still see Jonathan as a very good man, one who failed because of that "party structure of criminality". The same thing that a tinubu will definitely face.

For instance, we've seen the very best of APC in the past 7 years ( including tinubu godson's) and they were all monumental failures.

From fashola, the minister of darkness, to aregbe to ngige to pantami to abike dabiri and the rest.
Do you think that a tinubu cabinet would comprise of different individuals? Are these not the same people who would simply continue from where they stopped??

What do you think changes with another APC administration?

Not to sound like I'm campaigning for APC, what changes is the leadership. Peter Obi is on record as saying the major problem we face as a nation is that of leadership.

Buhari tolerates and even encourages failure, another may not be afraid to step on toes to get results.

amazing journey into the mind of an obidient

OBj, who presided over nigeria - who brought an economic boom that created a new middle class is a failure
bola tinubu, who presided over lagos and who initiated IGR, boosted the investment climats, and pioneered several agencies is a failure

but peter obi of anambra state, whose achievements are dubious at best is a runaway success cheesy cheesy

I don't have a Nigerian account. The recipient has tried 2 bank accounts originally Ecobank, and then opened with FCMB on Monday.

Same story

The money is well under 100k, but its still a substantial sum. The main issue is that I need the transaction to conclude as a GBP sum for contract reasons. Then ideally recipient can change it at Parallel rate.

CBN has done it such that the two banks don't even have the GBP on hand to withdraw even if they were allowed to credit the accounts, which as I found out this morning - they are not.

There's literally no forex anywhere and demand js through the roof. Somebody quoted me 930 per pound today, but I suspect I could push it to 1k in Lagos

I don't want to use a 3rd party for contract and tax/aml reasons.

There's an amount of equity that's baked into the contract for a certain sum. I also need that sum on my books for accounting purposes.

Tradesystem is your best bet it's government owned
Also UBA is the best bank to use just that then get small werey too we had to water one of the cashier hand to speed up the transaction
It's CBN official exchange they use

It could be a recent change in policy sha because of forex scarcity

But moving that bulk of money in cash and declaring it is risky

You are basically tempting immigration officers to tip off their boys operating on airport road with guns
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Tataffo: 1:11pm On Nov 03, 2022
Still find the Anambra Vs Lagos amusing grin

One is not;
A former nation's capital and present commercial city of Nigeria

No bank headquarters, oil and gas and business headquarters

no seaport and international airport

Multicultural society

Why not compare Anambra with ondo, ekiti, oyo and osun state

If Wike and ameachi were not thieves and rogues like tinubu, Rivers and not Anambra should be in comparisons with lagos

Bro, in this case of APC, we're not even talking about a change of guard. We're talking of continuation. Look at it from this angle, Jonathan had nothing to with obj's government. All they shared in common was just party platform. You could make this argument about new leadership in the same party if it was from a person unaffiliated with the federal government in any way. But tinubu is a part and parcel of the present administration. he's on record defending this government and it's policies. He's the co-founder of the party. He's the national chairman of the party. Government appointments go through him, he personally handpicks Soo many government officials. He personally approved these people who have all failed us. From the VP,to the the speaker of the house, to various senators who are oversee various government parastatals to multi state appointments. This man is the general oversea of his party for God's sake. He has had the means and influence to effect change at government.

Don't let people gaslight you into not seeing how this visibly sick man just wants to be president for the sake of it. Just for the personal aggrandizement of being remembered as a president even if it's to our detriment.

This is what the coward Obi with his squirell voice could not do

I see am, it's clear to even the blind that something fishy is going on. When you go register for the PVC, one of the first questions they ask you is whether you've registered in the past before, once you say you have or you're not sure, they check your biodata and if you've registered prior, it shows up. This volume of invalid registration and from certain regions is by design and in usual APC fashion, their INEC arm will refuse to come out to explain what happened.

Why should they even have to ask? Their software should be able to identify someone with prior registration, and if it can't then too bad of them. Nigerians are not helping themselves too though. An adult should be able to remember if he already registered for something as important as elections.

90% of the time, there are always 'connectivity issues'. these may be deliberate [so they can collect settlement] or they may be actual. everything that requires some sort of online registration in this country has kleg.

so it may be a case of enter the data at the point, and when the server is finally available - the data is invalidated.

it is also possible that the inec officals tried to game the system [to help their preferred candidates] and ultimately wound up fking it up
