Before it was 'he doesn't score against big teams' now it's 'no shot on target in 90 minutes' later it will be why is his celebration so razz.

Curtisaxel10:
I repeat. There is NO good reason why a world class striker should feature for virtually the entirety of a game at such level and not get even a LONE shot on target, talk more of a goal. Just falling and rolling.

It's bad form. Plain and simple. And no player patronage chaser can shut me up.

Allow them chief it's their coping mechanism. When Victor joins the EPL next season they will come up with more topics to cry about during their Osimhen haters anonymous weekly meetings.

TheGoodJoe:

Erling Haaland touched the ball only 8 times in the Community Shield game against Liverpool. From your perspective, Haaland is not world class.

He has forgotten or does not know that Salah and Mane played 90 mins against Atletico Madrid without a shot on target.

you don't have a point. olivier giroud played an entire 90 minutes without touching the ball, he also played 546 minutes without getting a shot on target. You can't tell me giroud is not a world class footballer . Mind you he scored two and assisted two in their ucl match yesterday

No one is emotional except you. It was the same emotional bias you used to try to write Manxh City Academy off.

You look for any little ripple to try to rant.

One game is not enough to use to judge. Even an infant football watcher know this.

You are using a game of to run a decision of a player's possibility to flourish in the EPL.

It is totally illogical and it is only a bias person that will make such a bent remark.

Please some degree of objectivity and maturity.

Once again you deviate from the subject matter , what has Manchester city Academy got to do with subject we are discussing ❓

Actually it's two games against Liverpool without scoring.

You are too presumptuous, I aligned V.O. attributes and l skill sets to the demands of the EPL and the top level teams he should be associated with. Not just on game.

Before this current discourse , I talked about the teams he would be most suited too. So my view did not start a few days ago .

I will tell you in football one exceptional game will get you noticed and two will be get you offers and by the third you can probably get a pre- contract agreement.

It works vice versa , if you have been hyped to the heavens and you have an average game it will be considered a poor game, if in the second game you don't improve bids are off and interest dies. Football is characterized by short term decisions.

Chai. I want to understand your angle. But Konate has quieted some good strikers in EPL and got rounded up by small boys in the same league. Add unknown regulars. If we are to use 1 game to conclude abilities, then even RVP and Rooney will be nobodies today.

Nunez is still upcoming. I very well want to assume you saw the number of articles written about if he can fo it in the EPL? He is still adapting till now. For VO, he personally knows he will need to up his game if he gets to the EPL. And that he can't do alone either. So no need to make a fuss about it? He is climbing that ladder and i don't see him stopping. You can't deny the effort isn't there since he returned from injury. When EPL comes, anything can happen. But he will get through. That i believe.

You are being assumptive, I did not use one game to make any conclusion, CHAI ! ! !

Football is like psychology there are more probabilities than conclusions albeit informed probabilities.

This is why last seasons super star can be this season flop. Consider Sanchez outstanding at Arsenal a big flop at United.

But I deviate, l looked at V.O. attributes that have given him great success so far.

I reiterate, pace, blind determined relentless raging attack. He is physical but not overly ,( wouldn't call him a muscle head) good aerial ability and finishing. However , guile, trickery sublime skill and technical ability are not his attributes.

The EPL is extremely fast and physical much more so than Seria A, French league one and the Belgium league. For him to thrive at a top 5 EPL club he will need more.

He is well known now, do you know that clubs have access to hours of footage of individual players and they prepare meticulously covering every detail. It's quite normal for individual players to go analysts and say give me 2 hours on V.O.

My view is simplistic , which is what he experienced in his two games against Liverpool is a precursor to what he will find week in week out playing in the EPL. But with greater expectations, as a top goal scorer from Seria A.

That does not mean any of them is a poor player. Not scoring or even shooting a shot on goal does not count.

Remember how Julian Alvarez was not potent against Dortmund for Manchester City?

Yesterday, he was spectacular. With two assists and a goal. So if you judged him by Dortmund, you will miss how good he is.

Finito.

He caused a penalty sir, made chances for his team mates to score on a platter. At the end his team won 4 to nil. Soccer is always a team game, reason why Drogba recently praised his unselfishness to the high havens. Laslas sir, am not arguing o, just stating the facts and kind sir, we are all entitled to our opinions. Time always reveals everything, in time we shall know if Osimhen will live up to the "hype" and urge expectations some of us have.
One love, Jah bless and regards to Rishi if you bump into him.

Since the Liverpool Vs Napoli match there has been be a deafening silence that is bewildering and quite surprising. But then again considering the unbridled favouritism our V.O. gets here it should be expected.

Nonetheless, this was supposed to be the game our world class striker, Monster striker V.O. announced himself to the world as well as to potential EPL suitors.

But it didn't happen, he failed the test .

Instead there has been an outpouring of emotive sentiment based rhetoric. Some being by those best described as TheSuperDelusional as they are suggesting he was continuously fouled and unfairly treated.

Admittance of failure is the beginning of success it's the basis of constructive criticism. You are then able to address gaps in your skill sets and strategy and improve.

But instead many are blaming the weather, unfair referees, the bright red Liverpool strip, etc.

The EPL is the most competitive, fastest and physically exerting football league in the world. What works in Seria A may not necessarily work in the EPL.

V.O. is no longer an unknown quantity, he is not unknown he is one of the main focal points for Napoli attack. Liverpool would have gone through hours of footage of Osimhen and studied him in depth. His strengths and weaknesses.

In addition Liverpool FC have been having a torrid time in the EPL this season, they are off the mark standing 9th in the league table with even Fulham above them. They needed this win and would be like a wounded Lion . They return of Konate absolutely vital to them as well.

In summary V.O. got out muscled , out paced and got bodied all over the pitch, he couldn't get one shot off on target. Konate had him locked down and Vsmndykr put pad lock on the gate. Actually he actually did most of the fouls on Konate and resorted to desperate measures including simulation.

This would be a good learning experience if taken in the right context critically, for V.O. to up his game As opposed to what most are saying here.

Once again in your emotions get the better of you.

What's the fastest and most physical league as well as competitive league in the world, The EPL.

Haaland is an enigma with a skill set that is made for the EPL , he is a true number 9. He can even be more physical in the EPL than the Bundisliga. In addition I've never seen a 6"5' player with his acceleration.

I didn't make any deduction, just that V.O. will require more to succeed in the EPL. He has played two games against a not on top of their game Liverpool and failed to score.

But that's not particularly relevant, it was the way he got checked, bodied and locked by a Konate that was interesting.

V.O. is the most aggressive, relentlessly determined, hot headed with rage I know. However, Konate just poured ice cold water on him and he couldn't do much. Those attributes that have given him great success in Seria A and French one may not be enough in the EPL. That's objective appraisal not emotive preference and favouritism.

To use your proposition of sentiment, Saka, Martinelli, Mitrovic, Awoniyi , Sancho, Rashford have all scored against against Liverpool. Why not therefore Haaland and V.O.

All these players used guile, trickery , technique and skill and with Awoniyi plain good luck to score.

These are not the attributes of V.O. he needs to find another way IF he wants to thrive in the EPL.

He has scored 90 EPL goals in the premier League over near 260 games over 11 seasons, he has never been among the top 5 goal scorers in the EPL in his career.

Indeed his last 5 season in the EPL have been Largely anonymous, maybe you have a different definition for world class.

Premier league this, premier league that... championship here, championship there... Abeg rest!

Even the English that claim to invent football don't analyze the game like this.. why most English football be the yardstick to determine how good a player is?
There are tons of world class footballers who have never played in England but that doesn't take away their capability...

Rest please... It's become nauseating...

Osimehn struggles massively against big teams and games because they’re usually man marking him. but he is young and has time to improve his G+A against Big teams. He needs to learn how to hit Buhala from far just incase there are many players around him
