Where did lecturers get the money to send their children abroad? Idiot

That guy is a serious idiot! People earning less than $150 per month wants to send their children abroad to school in universities with $35000 school fees.

Some people have access to the internet and not worth the mention because they are either underage or dunderhead

What exactly is tge problem of Chris Ngige

Why is he personalising the feud between ASUU and FG. That Ngige Guy should be sacked Immediately if Buhari has any sense in him.
why bring tribal issue to a problem that is definitely caused directly by the presidency, ngige is just a minister and all his actions are vetted by the presidency,he is simply a servant obeying the instructions of his master

Federal government have done well, you work for half month you get half salary. You refuse to work, you won't get paid. He that doesn't work isn't entitled to food.

Everyone condemning federal government, but have we sit down and ask ourselves that, if it's me that have workers and they refuse to come to work, will I pay them??

This ASUU should know this strike is not in favour of Nigeria' they should stop delaying student future, Nigerians youths are very creative they don't rely on government like South African or American.

Then help the lecturers by paying appropriate school fees so that you can be truly independent of government like you say. College degrees are expensive. This is the bottom line. Government can no longer offer next to free education for it's run away population.

What happens to the funds budgeted for their salaries from January to December. Where is the money that has not been paid. You can consider whatever it has been used for as more important than the education of your fellow citizens.

And by the way if you pay peanuts to your workers in a shabby and irregular matter it will be sheer folly to expect proper service even if they work. Lecturing is not factory assembly work. It is work of creativity and intellectualism and you need stable psychology to perform.

A poorly paid lecturer will yield poor products. And this strike even if ended with finality today will take many years to recover from. But I guess government in reality doesn't care.

How else can yoi think Peter Obi that was a Terrible governor some years ago will make a better president than Tinubu who is the Best Nigerian Governor ever.

Osinbajo and Fashola are fully Behimd their Former Boss, the Jagaban. Unlike Peter obi who doesn't have the backing of both past and present Anambra governors.

Re: Salaries: UNIJOS ASUU Issues Stay-At-Home Order To Members by Easyadeniyi72: 9:30am On Nov 05, 2022
The issue at hand shows that the lecturers/ASUU want to eat their cake and have it, bearing in mind that the policy of no work no pay is what the government is using this time around. And also the reason for court case. Most of these lecturers are private business owners who will willingly applied the government principles of no work no pay in their businesses. ASUU should ideally head to the Industrial Court or Appeal court to fight their case as the government did in th first instance.
It is not economical for the government to continue to encourage strike by paying for the unproductive period the strike lasted as it would encourages others to embark on such actions as witnessed in the country. ASUU should await the outcome of the appeal at NIC instead of unnecessary drama with students future.

That won't happen. Arrest all the lecturers then. Jos order will happen in all university by next week. Sit at home not strike. Even worst, don't submit results. So you arrest which lecturers? FG will loose this fight eventually. They are only doing this because BUHARI is leaving office and seems not to have anything to loose, but he leaves with a very bad reputation.

Likewise people working in a firm too sir, I perfectly understand your perspective. The fact is that we must eliminate that mindset that whenever their is strike our salary will still be paid. Paying their salary during strikes leads to more strike.

If Government implement all their laws, what will the masses do. They'll start complain.

We all want a sane and conducive environment but we ourselves aren't sane. We want an upgrade but we breach every law and blame government for it all. Enough of impurities,

The question most Nigeria neglected during the strike that federal government asked ASUU is that "THE SCHOOL FEES YOU COLLECT FROM STUDENTS WHAT ARE THEY USING FOR"

federal government pay salary, all build structures in the school, gives grants to lecturers whenever the want to further their education.

Where is school fees going to, most of this lecturers are lecturing in up to three schools. This reduces employment rate, some even lectures full time student, lectures part-time and even masters and PhD.

I rest my pen for now.

We must consider all factors

Nobody would employ these lecturers.

If they were in high demand they would have left already.

Buhari is not fit to be a whatsapp group administrator yet some sophisticated idiots voted for him twice. 7 years down the line, the country is a mess.

The most annoying aspect of the whole thing is Tinubu who foisted Buhari on hapless Nigerians telling us he wants to come and continue where Buhari stopped.

Tinubu forced people to thumbprint?

This is crap. If you don't work you don't deserve any pay. The budgeted salary can go to other areas of development but not into the pocket of a striking worker. The government is 100% right to pay half salaries, and this is what would happen in any developed country.

It's a shame on any government to still have Strike issues on his table in 21st Century..

How many Private Universities on the Soil of Nigeria is talking about Strike..

It shows someone is not doing the right thing.. administration in public sector as failed...Nigerians.. and

I worked for one of the top 20 universities in the world. A section of workers went on strike and were not paid for the days they were off work.

Strike is still common in advanced Countries but not the Osadeke's entitled strategy of going off work for months and demanding to be paid for the time off work

One day Nigerians will have sense and know that lecturers in advanced climes are not paid humongous wages like ASUU is making Nigerians believe.

Shame on ASUU. You delay and sabotage children's future and put parents in debt and want to be paid fully for your evil.

If you ever get paid, may the underserved wages speak against you.

LOL.. Stop being unnecessary emotional
1) What is the difference between strike and sit at home.
2) FG has already defeated ASUU in court
3) No lecturer has any right to hold exam results. It is a criminal act to do so.
4) This is no longer a fight between FG and ASUU. It is now a fight between ASSU and court
5) ASUU are not above the law in Nigeria

ASUU members won’t see reason in what you’re saying. But if we called a spade a spade, a striking worker doesn’t deserve to be paid for a striking period. It speaks of unfairness in every ramification and lecturers are no different.

In fact we could also argue Students have paid for a service that isn’t rendered in a timely manner and so are due compensation from the universities. But alas no one is pushing that argument in the media.

We want to become a developed nation but don’t want to do the things that developed nations do. Paying striking workers has incentivized long strikes over the years. A strike becomes a paid vacation. Who wants to work when they can stay home for 8 months and receive accumulated salaries at the end. There is a valid reason strikes in the western world don’t last months like we’ve had with ASUU, the impact will be significant on the members on strike.

There is also a different angle to look at this from. If ASUU members are so against the present working conditions why not resign? Resigning en-mass is perhaps a stronger way to show the government there is a problem and their skills are in demand. ASUU should do their jobs or resign, rather than pretend to be freedom fighters and activists.
