In developed countries, Good system of government, social amenities, low unemployment rate, good minimum wage/earnings yet most people have 1, 2, 3 children while few have 5+... Or some want no children.

Why do people in African e.g in Nigeria with very bad system of government, no social amenities, high unemployment rate, low pay rate yet people have or give birth to more number of children Or any number yet go ahead to complain how difficult it is to take care of them? Like they don't know it requires money to do things in life

Can't comfortably pay the school fees of the 2 children you have yet adding more children So that you can have 3 or 4 children that you can't pay school fees for?

Your salary is 250k, you finish some of the months with borrowing yet adding more children hence lability undecided

The current living condition your salary is giving, you are finding it difficult to push through yet adding more children Hence making life more difficult or what could be the motive?

A single guy/girl finding it difficult to survive on his/her 100k salary but would go ahead and marry, pour children

Is it a crime to have no children or the number of children your salary can afford?

In my opinion, here we don't value children, human life and the basic wellbeing of the children we give birth to. Hence you see people even in their state of abject poverty adding more children or those that are doing a little better adding more children just to fulfill their desire of having X number of children even when the ones they already have is difficult to maintain.

Another reason is that people don't think or reason for themselves. They just follow the societal norms like zombies and do what everyone is doing.

These things always makes me wonder.

Blame religion that shifted personal responsibilities to God that will supposedly answer people's calls. Nigerians take no responsibility for anything so their lives are on autopilot. If it is well, thank God. If it is bad, blame the devil. S/he doesn't believe in his or her own capacity or existence as such planning is out of the equation. All it takes is one grass to grace story, it will motivate others to procreate like rats

It gets worse now that the intelligent and reasonable ones have embraced japa. Na urchins litter the whole place who cannot reason even if their lives depend on it.

But also notice that in those developed nations they are also concerned about population collapse, More reasons these countries ease up their migration rules so many people can come in and keep their system working.
There's nothing wrong in giving birth as long as these parents can take care of them

You are right. Most of those countries are now experiencing negative population growth. In the past households were economic units - farmers, Fishermen, etc. The entire family would work together to create an end to end value chain. I believe that large families need to intentionally think this way so that size becomes an advantage.

We are Africans. Is our culture and tradition! "I kan ti aja maje, esu a se" many children of poor people have grown to become rich. Maybe you are among. But we have people like Obasanjo,Abiola and many other people in our society. I am not objecting to your opinion but money is not everything. We should embrace family planning.

It's quite funny though, the way some people brag with suffering. I've heard people brag about how they refuse to take annual leave. They believe rest is for the weak.

Some brag about how far they trek daily etc. We have been so used to suffering right from birth that 24 hour power is something to be excited about.

Until you actually visit a developed country you'll never know how stressful and pathetic living in Africa is.

As for the birthing of kids anyhow, that one is unexplainable.

This weakens me.

Immediately an African man makes money especially a Nigerian,he would starts looking for things to waste on.

E.g

-Multiple wives.
-Marrying liabilities.
-Giving births to many children they can't afford.
-Gambling.
-Making more friends that consumes his money.
-Building mansions in his interior village while he visits once a year.
-keeping multiple girl friends and living large at the expense of his family e.t.c

All of the above have rendered many people worthless and useless.

I don't believe this because I'm completely opposite. When I had no money. I gamble, I chase women ( most with mouth), I make many friends in order to survive. Buy now Its completely opposite. I don't gamble bcus I'm very ok, I don't womanize because I see it as destiny killer and I don't have any friend bcus I don't like parasites

This is Africa where the childless suffer at old age due to unavailability of elderly care centers, no enabling infrastructure and other amenities to support the elderly. Where there is no law to protect the childless and aged and they suffer intimidation. There children, mostly the men, becomes their future caregivers and support.
The African system, makes it easy to secure your future through your children rather than the government. While raising your children to adulthood ( at least 18yrs) just assume you are serving a temporary period of punishment.

All these resulted from lack of knowledge about family planning. Poor fellow only source of enjoyment and recreation is sexual activities and as a result, unplanned child or even children.

I will put it on religion, non-enforcement of child care standards and ignorance. Why would a parent watch their children suffer and still be having more children?
