Forget the goal today, Osimehn was poor...
A striker that can not collect ball from the keeper, dribble the entire Midfield and score is an average striker.

I don't know why some are still dwelling on this Onuachu argument here. I mean the fact speaks for itself. Simy is a perfect example...he scored 20 goals in serie A and couldn't secure a decent move...

But does that mean Onuachu and simy are bad players? No

Despite Aguero being the better striker, Pep once benched him for Jesus.

Football is now evolving... Coaches don't just look at the goals alone, they look at other things a striker can offer.

Onuachu is good but the other aspects of his game might be why clubs are not looking his way. Can he drop to the flank as an outlet? What about his work rate (pressing)? Are his final passes good? Can he serve as a decoy? What about dropping deep for buildups? These and other things are part of what modern coaches look for in a striker.

Do you know that Klopp has been using a 4-4-2 this season? Firmino and Salah up front with Nunez and Carvalho and sometimes Elliot on the flanks..yet Robertson and Trent are still doing the crossing... The reason why we have more wingers that score these days is because of the system that allow them cut into the box more often rather than hugging the touchline...

And how’s that panned out

Why are you pretending like you didn't understand my point?
The person I quoted was saying our wingers should be crossing the ball more when Onuachu starts..my point is that wingers in this era don't cross the ball often like before.. it's fullbacks that do .. Liverpool is an example of such team..Same with city.. Robertson and Trent aren't wingers.. they are fullbacks...

Now I’m with you

He should had scored or assisted vs Ghana
Yeah he should have but it didn't happen and we are not going to the world cup, it still doesn't take away his quality so get over it.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy only played in 1 world cup as a 30 year old, there will be more opportunities for him and other younger players to attempt to qualify for the next one and subsequent ones after that

This upcoming World cup might just turn out to be a nonsense tournament.

Son and Alphonso Davies might not be available for their national team for the tourney due to injury.

Fixing this world cup in mid season is just a foolish move...

I agree that a mid season WC is shyte

But Son or Davies missing out has little impact on WC o. It's not like Canada or South Korea are a team we'd rush to our TVs to watch

I don talk am tey tey say the world cup no fo sweet..
Aside the injuries, there's also the politics... Qatar is a religiously strict country.. Western countries will go there and try to promote things that won't sit well with Qatar culture and traditions.. Already,9 countries have agreed to wear rainbow captain bands to support LGBTQ rights...
I'm expecting a lot of lawsuits between FIFA and European FAs after this tournament

With a lot of key players out injured,it's been a difficult season..

But with that formation,we beat city and Napoli

Yea...you have a point but what makes a tournament interesting is its competitiveness. Both players I mentioned are very very very important part of their team. The more teams keep losing their players to injury, the less competitive the tourney. The winner might just walk straight to the title.

Oh...I wanted to mention this too but I don't want it twisted into religion battle. The rules are too extreme for a tourney as big as the world cup IMO. The fanfares and fun are part of what make world cup interesting and sadly, we may not be having those this year.

I get you bro but there would be a way around it somehow...
They can take a water break...
And I heard some of the stadiums already have air conditioner. I'm not sure though.
Infact, moving the tourney to mid season is even more dangerous.

The Europeans are pissed not because the tournament was moved to November for health and safety reasons but because FIFA awarded the tournament to Qatar. As for injuries it's part and parcel of the game. It's not FIFA's fault that teams in European leagues use the same set of players for every single match no matter the competition.
