My boss lives in the UK and said he had to ask the school to exempt his daughter from the sex education class - Grade 7. He said the school went as far as showing videos to the kids (true/false but there's nothing the west won't do to make the world crazy). Though this is the most inefficient Minister of Education we've ever had, I am with him that parents should take control of the sex education of their children (Not any religious leader).

Your boss has his own biases and opinions. His decision means nothing

They can learn Maths, Basic science and Sex Education at the same time, Sex Education will play a major role in their daily lives as soon as they come of age. Parents, Teachers, religious groups, all hands should be on deck to save our children from perverts lurking everywhere in the society.

The big question about is what's the content of the sex education an outsider, including teachers at schools will give to another person's child?

And before Nigerians start to copy this from the western world, they should research contents of some of the so called schools sex education being given in western world schools that made many parents in western countries to opt their children out of it.

Also, sex education in western countries remains a choice of the parents. A parent is always given consent form to render consents to such before being given to any child at schools in western countries.

Though some woke liberals want to change that recently to push only their sexual beliefs on everyone but that is also dead on arrival.

How many religious leaders preach and teach sex education? Some see it as taboo while some lack the morale and insight about it. To worsen the matter, some can't stand questions that will be hauled at them since they wallow in the lake of modern ignorance.
School teachers should be taught by government experts before they (teachers) would be allowed in the classroom to teach pupils or students.

Government monitoring team on sex education should be grafted as well for tge purpose of effectiveness and efficiency .

Sex curriculum must be drafted by experts as well. This will ease the passing of knowledge from the teacher to pupils/students.

It's unnecessary pal.
Government should focus on censorship of what's broadcast, strengthening our laws to punish sex offenders, and improving security.

Parents and religious organizations can handle those.
All these stems from what the western world does.
Exposing children to unnecessary things piques their curiosity.

Handling sexual issues isn't academic. Many things are involved.
I believe some knowledge are unnecessary.
Most times you can't guarantee what the teacher would teach.

The idiots who pray to the Abrahamic deity crying about 'foreign values'.

Sex education should be taught so that the ignorance pertaining to sex can dissipate.

What education do the religious institutions provide pertaining to sex and at what age? Abstain from sex or go to hell is not 'education', that is foolishness.

Isn't it obvious that the Sex Education our parents dish isn't working, apart from 'stay away from boys so you don't get pregnant' and keep 'yourself till marriage so your husband will value you' what other Sex Education do our parents teach, to make it worse, they believe it's only girls that should be educated about sex. The method with which it has been taught isn't producing any result, unwanted teenage pregnancy is on the rise everyday, perverted males keep taking advantage of adolescents like it's a norm now, ladies jumping from one dick to the other in search of oneness because they don't even understand their own biology and psychology. Most of these parents don't even know zilch about sex to start with, that's why they have nothing to teach their kids. Sex Education is very important, we shouldn't necessarily copy everything about the Western World's way of teaching it, but I believe, as adults, we should educate ourselves so we can educate our children, Teachers and parents mostly have a huge part to play in this. I believe with proper Sex Education, we might be able to help our children make better sexual decisions, this will in turn lead to a less chaotic society.

First, what are they teaching?

Do you need to go to school to teach your ward that sex is reserved for adults who are responsible?Or the consequences of premarital sex?Or moral rectitude?

The world wasn't this bad when kids had illiterate guardians.

Now to the so-called teachers in primary and secondary schools presently.
How many of them are well trained teachers?
What you have are accidental teachers, so what's the fuss about teaching it.

To boot, would any of the sex education content include the spirituality of sex?

Please let's focus on important things that would make our children productive not useless education

It all depends on how it's been taught at schools, it won't work if they use the same brick and mortar method being used to teach other subjects. Let's face the reality here, what do majority of parents know about sex, apart from penetration? The problem with most Nigerian parents is that they feel that once they get to a certain stage in their lives, the only thing they should focus on is money, they don't put in any effort to learn new things, the only way they get updated is through newspapers, social media and television programs. What about parents that don't have access to these media, they are left at the mercy of heresay. Parents would have been the best fit to educate the children, but currently they're not mentally and psychologically capable of that, the trend might change with this new generation of parents, but I'm not counting on them either. The reality on ground now is that most parents are incapable of guiding a child to make better decisions with regards to sex, Sex Education goes beyond marital purity and fear of unwanted pregnancies, maybe if parents educated the boys with the same energy they used on the girls, things might be better, maybe if they delved deeper into the biology and psychology of sex, their kids would understand that why they need to keep themselves till marriage. Sex might sound trivial to a lot of folks out there, but just like fire, if it's not managed right, it'll burn us in ways that might be very difficult to heal from.

Of all the problems in Nigeria and Nigerian education system, it's sex education in schools that is paramount to her at this time.

Pal, some things are basic in parenting. Don't allow anyone deceive you with many of these stories that illiterate parents don't know zilch.
Some of these illiterate parents have values and they instill them.Whilst many of us from educated parents are the ones exposed to nonsense in the name of being woke.
Did you remember the 10year old girl who the "educated" mum alleged was raped when they went on excursion to Dubai?

How many 10 year olds in local schools where sex education was never mentioned would try such?
You think they don't teach sex education in that school?

And Who thinks more about making money at the expense of child discipline? The "educated" parent or illiterate parent?
Besides what the eyes doesn't see, the mouth doesn't water for.

Would you start researching Kreb's Cycle without anyone mentioning it to you?

First, what are they teaching?
The different functions of the sex organs, the different methods of preventing unwanted pregnancy, sexual abuse and diseases.

Do you need to go to school to teach your ward that sex is reserved for adults who are responsible?Or the consequences of premarital sex?Or moral rectitude?

People are not born with this information, they learn it from others or the Internet. Better for them to learn in a controlled environment before others influence them.

The world wasn't this bad when kids had illiterate guardians.
It was people just lied more, how do you think HIV spread so fast in Africa?

Now to the so-called teachers in primary and secondary schools presently.
How many of them are well trained teachers?
What you have are accidental teachers, so what's the fuss about teaching it.

That is why we have a curriculum with teaching guidelines that the ministry of education should provide instead of collecting money for nothing.

To boot, would any of the sex education content include the spirituality of sex?

There is nothing spiritual about sex, people's sex organs work the same regardless of religion.

Please let's focus on important things that would make our children productive not useless education

This "useless education" is part of the reason why the South is doing better than the North. Uncontrolled birth rates and blinding people with religion.

Aboki are the biggest problem in their country.
Imagine an education minister that doesn't know the value of sex education.
Someone who accepts he has failed as minister of education. Sex education is part of reproduction in Biology. Because they want to keep young girls in the North ignorant of sexual rights and reproductive health knowledge because of their paedophilia tendencies in the guises of Religion. What a dumb paedophile motherfucker.

Is it so difficult for a mother to teach her teenage daughter what sex is and how it affects her life. 21 century is rubbish. if you go to ask for an 18 years old girl hand in marriage now the family will say she's too small but she's already dancing naked on tiktok and the family and society don't see anything wrong with it. This woke generation is nose diving. irresponsibility everywhere, parents shifting education and home training to other people. the only thing parents know how to do know is tiktok and instagram with their kids no form of education is been passed down to the children. thank God for northerners by now our laws would have accepted LGBT community.

there is no reason or anything to talk about with sex, the western world you are talking about are the mainstream producer of pornographic films and are heavily promoting and taxing it which everyone know the wild defection and the corruption that comes with that. they too are also the ones promoting homosexuality and transgender, what would you say or promote about that?? for long as i know and was taught the sex organ was made for urination only unless you are married and wants to make babies or unless you are stalking prostitution.
