When you see Nunez who is a forward player on the flanks then know that 4-4-2 is the fake formation or public formation while the main formation is 4-3-3..

The reason you see more wingers score is because the position is now called left wing forward and right wing forward they are all forward players and they should position themselves in the box to score a cross or pass if they are not the ones crossing or passing.

Football is about exploiting spaces on the pitch and wingers ensure there are always players on the wing waiting to attack the space.
I hope you're watching our game against Spurs... Thats a 4-4-2 we are playing...

The idiot even started mentioning omeruo, balogun, ekong and awaziem. It took Bassey only 2 seasons at rangers to sign for one of the best clubs in the world

Ajax fans are attacking Bassey and I understand them. I didn't see the second goal but how could he have allowed that first goal to happen? How?

How does the Ajax press feel about bassey

Overpriced and not good enough for Ajax. Shockingly, right now he is one of their best players. Ajax presently does not have a good midfield which put a lot of pressure on the defense in big games!

They’re only saying he is overpriced because his African because in todays inflated market, 22million is the right price for a player of Bassey caliber considering his age, and potential to grow.

Iheanacho sef has at least given us one World class season. He has shown that, he is capable of performing when he is mentally prepared

A perfect example of how they overhype players and exaggerate their contribution

Which world class season?

thieves. How much did they want his price to be ? 5m??. Correct emerging talent like bassey and they are complaining that he is over priced. If he was an english junior international they know they wont be able to afford him in the first place. Awon alaroro

That season! He scored 19 goals in all competition and at least 5 world class goals. In addition to that, he won his team the illustrious Fa cup and was their top scorer. That world class season occurred in the space of 5 months. This is why I would not easily give up on him

Chukwueze is slowly joining them

These guys are not ambitious and are okay being local champions

I don't know why Nigeria could not qualify for this year FIFA world Cup in Qatar. Most of Our top player's are on form currently.

Ademola lookman highest goal scorer for Atalanta with 6 goals currently
Terem Moffi 4th highest goal scorer in French league with 9 goals
Paul Onauchu highest goal scorer In Belgium league
Victor Osmihen highest goal scorer in Serie A with 8 goals

Alex Iwobi also doing well currently for Everton

I won’t add chukwueze cus atleast he has been steady in laliga for over 4 seasons now with decent performances unlike iheanacho who seem very comfortable sitting on the bench for leicester

It’s a life lesson that we were taught. Sometimes in life, you don’t know what you have until it’s lost. We had someone that was qualifying us for tournaments with games to spare and we requested that he should be sacked undeservedly. The conclusion was retrogression

Bassey had a great game when he switched to left-back. Ajax needs another CB to unleash Bassey at left-back.

My admiration for Bassey began when i saw the friendly game against Arsenal, while he was at Rangers, in that game he was played as a left-back. Bassey won me over.

When i saw him played as a CB, i was like wow, what a versatile player. The quality that i saw in Bassey made me believe that he is an upgrade to what we have in S.E especially at CB, but a closer look at Bassey as a CB revealed what looked like a deficiency, but which is actually a strength when he is deployed rightly

Bassey is a world class LB and should not be wasted at CB. He has qualities that makes him a good LB and at the same time limits him as a CB. He has the skills of a fullback. He anticipates well as a fullback, but makes poor judgements as a CB and there are good reasons for this.

Any coach that believes in Bassey will play him at LB and allow him to develop further in that role.

If Ajax desires let them continue him at CB and watch the opposition exploit Bassey's obvious weaknesses at CB, a situation which is quite unfair, and has a way of affecting his confidence.

Ajax can afford to play at at Lb but we can’t because he is our best available CB

the reason NIgeria didn't qualify for the World Cup is due to incompetent Nigerian coaches and poor tactics especially the long ball tactics and low number of midfielders invited and over-confidence....

Moffi and Onuachu were not called up for the qualifiers and Iwobi had red card..

He needs to be playing regularly which he is not doing at the moment and shouldn't be part of the SE until he starts doing that, we can't have the likes of Osimhen, Moffi, Okereke and many more playing regularly and scoring goals for their teams only to have him entitled sitting on the bench at Leicester.

It is a case of rewarding non performance.

For Moffi you can argue he's has performed relatively well in a higher level league compared to Onuachu but until we see Paul in a top 5 European league it will be unfair to draw that judgment. Sadiq got injured before he could take off properly in La Liga so we can't really use league performance as basis of whether Umar trumps Paul.

Now using national team football you can't really separate the 3 forwards in terms of lasting impact and performance. That said one can argue Onuachu has had a longer stay in the national team than the previous 2 and apart from his wonder goal against Egypt back in 2018 he hasn't exactly set the house on fire with his displays in the SEs.

Personally Moffi looks more like someone who could deputize for Osimhen. I was impressed with his game against Algeria recently. His overall output and not just his goal won me over. Overall I agree that the number 2 striker position is still not cast in stone and it's still open for anyone to grab that chance.

charlesemeka85:
he is automatically osimhen’s deputy in the national team

Miles better than any other striker we can boast of currently

Moffi is not a deputy to anyone. Moffi will play alongside Osimhen in the starting eleven.

Anyone who says Moffi is a deputy is very incompetent and also an incompetent football analyst....
