How do you deal with budget deficit?

Abiola goes first. There's nothing really wrong with debt. The issue is about how its used - fair enough

Kwankwaso is next - he inherited a lot of debt jn Kano. He left with zero debt. He left 43 million dollars in one account. The man is doing a decent covet of Peter Obi's greatest hits

Obi says he intends to aggressively cost waste in the government and reduce cost of governance. He will have a balanced budget. He is however not against borrowing if its requited for production First time I've heard this man make sense today

Okowa surprise surprise agrees with Obi. But he needs thr dangote refinery to run slurp slurp. He gives some stats about servicing debt. He states our economy is in shambles. We need to restructure our debt and find new ways to generate revenue.

We should also engage rhe private sector(probably Dangote)

My score

1. Abiola
2. Obi/Okowa
4. Kwankwaso

grin

You dey whine us ba? Okowa should come last. I agree don tire me.

A 4KM pipeline used to steal oil has been in Delta for nine good years"

What is immediately clear to me is that these men are all uber-capitalists.

Virtually no social welfare policies at all. Abiola is the only one who has made some sort of token offering towards any form of social democracy by offering to subsidise mortgages (tall order in my opinion, but at least he mentioned it)

These men are looking to sell the ground under all of you in the guise of creating jobs

All four candidates just responded to how they'd make funds available to run their manifesto, but I'm sure that's not what you want to hear, you want a detailed breakdown with how much will be spent and where it will be spent.

I like the fact that we don’t need to ask questions. Just give them the job. 4 to 5 months, and they'll know how to solve it.

At least Kwankwaso has told us he would he would make WAEC free so he can fund his 1 million boys for military.

We shouldn't have asked HOW anyway. He would have funded it 4 to 5 months after he won

It is different in Lagos, Party Exco would conduct primary to select the Party candidate. Hours or days after announcement of the primary result, we will hear Baba sope the winner should step down for his prefered candidate. It has happened severally and this is why most Local Govt Chairmen are underperforming cos they are not answerable to the masses...

Also in every state the state governor handpick candidates in baba sope model

If after the fact checking and all the antecedents you have this score then you are biased.

Nevertheless I appreciate the effort in doing this analysis.

You sound surprised. grin grin grin

Peter Obi is more realistic in his solutions. He is pointing out that corruption starts from the top and unless the top changes, no matter the white elephants solutions these politicians give nothing will work. The funny part is that there is no political will to carry out those solutions.

He has stated that the basis for this election is trust. Trust for who will not steal. Trust for who is competent. Trust for who has character.

Okowa is still making some sense on thr economic front even though he is clearly in Dangote's pockets

Kwankwaso clearly has zero idea of economic or fiscal strategy

Senseless and useless party. Jonathan handled ASUU strikes much better than the lifeless one in Aso Rock.

Buhari is easily the worst Nigerian president in the history of the country's democracy.

It's not surprising that a leader, who many Nigerians aren't sure actually earned an SSCE certificate, is doing his best to cripple the education sector as he doesn't value education.

There’s a reason his picture made it to the lecture screen of Robert Gordon university in far away Scotland where he was depicted as S. I unit of lazy and insensitive leadership

Peter Obi keeps crying about the need for integrity and character and he has his history to tell. A history that is very verifiable.

It's not just about giving solutions, it's about character for me.

More likely courting Dangote's influence (and probably his money) this campaign season, Dangote Refinery is private business, so not sure how the Nigerian government would feed fat from it.

Surveillance is different from protection though and you can't say he wasn't aware of such in his state. They're also to speak from their track records and antecedents on related issues not just to make bogus claims especially when the problem as stated is evident in his state.
