The festival has been celebrated for centuries in memory of Eri's journey to Igboland and his subsequent settlement there. #Biafra

Yeah it could not have been coincidence that the same Eri son of Gad one of the sons of Jacob which is in the bible is also one of the name of Major Town in Igbo Land. I will like to visit the Obi Gad where the first building in Igbo Land was built.
