I very much doubt. But then it depends on where, in some parts of the house just a different mortar mix stopped capillary action, but in other parts of the house, it was not enough.

Which is what made me start these extreme remedial actions.

I had to have all the gravel washed so they were clean and had absolutely no soil clinging to them before they were allowed to form the base on which the concrete footing rests

But I am assuming you are asking where since I have rebar, I have included big stones, don't know if it is appropriate to call those granite or gravel, maybe rocks is the appropriate word before pouring the concrete.

I think that given the volume of cement mix to the volume of stones, I am home and dry and the quality of the concrete footing has not been negatively impacted.

I didn't know this earlier, would have gone for other brands.. Just had to buy more bags cos the one I bought earlier wasn't enough. Bought Top pop cement now for 9000... May God help us!!!

I am not on line for 3 days now, just getting in, dats not the issues boss, I have discussed everything with him,
He is one of my old clients here I have told him many things, infact brother to me, almost what he paid for are in site, but does dat I sent to do the work am getting complained from him, dats why I decided to handle it by my self, but couldn't meet up last week I promised him, and I called him, no probs bro I will call him and it will solve thanks,


From the word go, the signs has been there that he needed money urgently for his personal use but you showed empathy to give him legitimate jobs to make that money, something someone like me would still do.
His very big mistake was not properly leveraging on his reputation to get such several other jobs to make up whatever he wants to use the money for in a proper way.
Whatever any money is given for any job, any serious minded contractor would make the whole sum in profits from several regular jobs with assurance of regular referrals and repeat customers that would make the initial seemingly big money look very pale in comparison.
There has been similar complaints by a reputable client I supplied here also but he too was reluctant to give too much details here so as not to totally affect his chances.
If he is reading it, know that what you stand to lose is far more than the little you gain. I wish for you that whatever you are going through is resolved but try and salvage this situation.
It won't be difficult to locate him now that the details are out. Best for him to do the needful fast on his own.
N.B I thought he advertised some lands for sale at mowe recently

Pop cement has gone up from 6500 to 9500, 12mm iron rod had gone from 4000 to 4700, who did we offend in this country. All happened in less than a week to when I last priced Ooo

Good DPM,We tend to fail these small things when building.
If you are building in an area prone to Damp, put a Damp proof on the ground before building also, try and do your filling whit sharp sand as capillary action happens more in red/clay soil. (We did this experiment in Pry5) test tube with different sample of soil in it?
