I laughed reading bills are paid by a foreigner
Tell us more, blyiur bills are paid by someone not a family member?
So what in return are you guys offering this Samaritan?
Believe it or not, this Samaritan, however generous won't continue this bill paying for adults and semi adults for 6 months except you are bringing values to the table, too.

Agreed that your mom and others didn't do well, but you can't run away forever from your root.
Prayers and counselling either through third party can solve some issues.

I left home last month with my 13 years old sister due to the abuse she had endured in the hands of my mother and 2 younger brothers.

I have rented out a room in a different town, I have changed my number and deleted my Facebook account so nobody could locate me.

Yesterday, I opened a new Facebook account with a different name. I have searched for my elder brother Facebook account he posted about me being missing he has pleaded with anyone who has seen me to contact him because my mum is not in a good state.

Funny enough he has posted me alone when it is me and my younger sister who are missing so they only care about me a 23 years old woman but not a single pity about a 13 years old girl.

I am her only daughter among 4 boys she loves me more than my siblings but I have lost respect for her the day she has started abusing my innocent sister. I want my absence to teach her a lesson so she can feel the pain but I am also worrying about her what if she died, will I be able to forgive myself.

I don't know if I should contact them with a private number and tell them we are fine where we are they shouldn't bother about us. I will not disclose my current addresse to them.

Should I do it or not?

Well, this may not be a good move though it has short term benefits.

However, know that you've automatically become responsible for that child. Should anything happen to her (especially with the current security situation in the country), it won't look good. What if she gets pregnant, she gets missing or raped or worse ...Just spit-balling.

Ask your mom her REAL reason for the ill-treatment of that child.

I think you should contact them and let them know your reasons. Downside maybe that Mom will become angry and tell you to train her then, since you know it all....that burden you certainly cannot carry.

You don't want law enforcement investigating a "suspected kidnapping" case. Their involvement makes things worse except it would also bring the child-abuse case to light. But you don't want to be on the wrong side of the law in whatever case.

Are you really ready for this battle?

Greatzeus:
You have a good heart for you to be protective of your step sister, whom your mother and brothers are maltreating.
But in life,we need wisdom, good intentions are not always enough. So you must apply wisdom in these situation.
First that woman that is accomodating you and your sister, when you have been declared missing by Police is risking jail term. Don't put that woman in trouble.
I will advice you to go to the LASG Office of public defender,if you're not in Lagos,go to the office of public defender in your state. Tell them your mom and brothers are maltreating your sister and her life might be in danger. So that way, your leaving the house is justified and the woman that accommodated you won't be prosecuted.
a 23 years old should be able to say if she was kidnapped or not... She never said she was staying with the woman, her rental bill was paid by the good samaritan.. Nevertheless you are spot on!!!

Hello Op,

Your case is similar to the missing girl in my threads. Please call home and tell them you are alive or safe.

Personally for me, I have never been the same ever since I got told about the Missing girl. This is the most traumatic experience I have ever had in my life. If you see the appearance of this girl's mother, you will understand what I mean. This pain never heals until they hear from you.

Please call them.
Re: I Ran Away From Home With My Sister by MaeBlocks(f): 5:44pm On Nov 09, 2022
I have followed from your first story. God bless your heart.
But starting your life at 23 will not be easy ooo. Just wished there was another way out of this. At 23 you still need guidance and protection from a responsible mature adult. I think locating your sister's grandparents would be most preferable than depending on the good Samaritan for shelter. Humans are so prone to taking advantage of people who have no one to support them. E.g. your mother.
It will break my heart to hear that while you are running away from fry pan (your mom), you jumped into a hot burning fire (a complete stranger).
I pray that the Lord will make your burden light and bring you the right people/connections. May the Lord protect you from all evil. And I join Nathaniel Bassy to what the enemy meant for evil, may the Lord turn it around for your good.
Stay blessed

It's always the hungry ones that gives meaningless advice. They wanted to kill the girl. So the abuse wasn't good enough for you. Abeg get out. This is not about politics but if i look carefully, you're most likely a supporter of this failed government.

Baby girl, thank you for making the right choice. Get a skill. Learn to do Pop work, interior decorations. You'll become a big girl soon and won't depend on handout from anyone.

But may God bless that woman that helped you. I've read your former story of how your mum and brothers abuse the girl. Keep it up. Posterity will fight for you.

Thank you so much I will call her tommorow involving family will not help the matter because they are all supporting her including my grandmother she had witness most of the abuse and she had never for once tell her to stop abusing the child. Early this year when I reported the matter to the police they had denied everything painting me back and the police believed them. They had all ganged up against me and beat me up and I don't want the same to repeat. I am trying to be away from her for as long as I can I hope my absence will make her a good person If she can't bear to lose me she should accept and love my sister the same way she loves my siblings and I.

Please do not go back. If you do, you may never be able to leave again because they will keep tabs on your movements.

Anyway...now that she's sick because of you, call her and tell her how you feel and if she's ready to stop abusing the innocent girl. You may not visit for now but keep communication with her open.
