‘Stop using African children’s images in undignified circumstances’
The Chairman, Working Group on People of African Descent, Ms Catherine Namakula, has appealed to the United Nations as well as relevant stakeholders to desist from portraying African children in undignified circumstances.

Namakula made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in New York.

She was reacting to a report published and presented to the UN General Assembly on Tuesday.

“We made an appeal to the United Nations and other stakeholders to desist from using images of African children and children of African descent in undignified circumstances of dire poverty for marketing and fundraising,’’ she said.
In the report , UN human rights experts outlined how discrimination affects black boys and girls worldwide to the extent that they are not considered children, even in the eyes of the law.

They said unresolved legacies of trade and trafficking in enslaved Africans, as well as colonialism, post-colonial apartheid and segregation, continue to harm these children today.
The report by the Working Group on people of African descent highlights discrimination in areas that include the administration of justice, law enforcement, education and health.

“Due to racial discrimination, racial stereotypes, systemic racial discrimination and xenophobia, children of African descent are not considered as children at all,” Namakula told ambassadors while presenting the report.
The report found that throughout the Diaspora, children of African descent face heavier policing, including more arrests, police surveillance, racial profiling, strip searches and excessive use of force.

According to the report, “Law enforcement is in conflict with children of African descent.”

The study details how false racial stereotypes of criminality, culpability and dangerousness, influence decision-making, including by police officers, prosecutors, lawyers and judges globally.

“The childhoods of people of African descent are stolen by persistent racial disparities in policing and family interventions, including removal of children and termination of parental rights, and racialised decision-making and outcomes,” they said.

The Working Group stated that it was time to take action to end excessive use of force, extra-judicial killings, disparities, racial profiling, racial stereotypes and stereotyping, systemic racial discrimination, hate speech and hate crimes.

They called for the creation of a racial justice index to measure progress.

Very true.

I'm yet to see the white man's U.N use the images of white kids to depict a bad omen or situation, even situations that are not African, it is always black kids.
May God have mercy on the black race.

Black is beautiful. Even the oyibo's, I'm sure deep down, they envy us. That's why they don't want Africa to grow.

I remember one white man that took photo of us as teenagers.
He insisted we shouldn't smile and we should bump out our stomach.
Na so we leave am comot.

Another one was about to take us picture and we were in the sun. He said we should leave the sun and go to shade because "when sun hits black men, no one sees their dark faces in pictures".
Ahhh.... We had to force him to retract that statement

Going by number of countries, Africa is the poorest continent in the world. If you don't like the way the world portrays your people, tell your politicians to start leading right. At least that's where it starts from.

Those pictures are real people that those organisations use to raise funds to take care of them because your leaders failed them. People who work for the United Nations cannot use the pictures of their children for it because they have some of the world's best jobs.

Story.

Tell your useless black African leaders to stop looting their countries dry and work towards uplifting their citizens to live a better, healthier life.

A beggar have no say to his helper.

Africans cannot depend on begging shamelessly and still be expecting to be respected in the world.

UNICEF, WHO, etc use these images of malnourished black African kids to appeal to developed countries' citizens to make donations used in supporting poor children from war torn and crises ridden African countries like Northern Nigeria, CAR, Somali, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, etc

So young woman talk to your leaders and your African brothers and sisters who enjoy electing and supporting foolish people to be their leaders just as Nigerians do and still planning to do next year undecided

This is absolutely true but let the black race have mercy on the black race first.
With Nigeria as a case study, why would a few people in a population of about 200mil people, just to protect their status as lords and others as slaves decides to weaponize poverty and make Us see other ethnic groups and religion as our problem and fighting each other while all of them are united and dinning together without knowing which of them is Muslim or Christian. Our politicians and the elites are the problem of the black race

The United Nations is just an evil group of white men who feel they can make decisions for the whole world with Gay and Lesbianism at the tail of it. This people made sure they made Ukraine sign a gay law in the middle of war.
African is just a mere place where they milk and thrive to remain poor, unfortunately Nigerian corrupt government under the Fulani leadership are so happy with the construct of stealing and milking the nation dry. The children will only be the bane of a corrupt and evil world.
Only Christ can save us now. The world is melting and it would continue to get worse.

Story. Thanks to decades of misrule by our own government, and the unpatriotic nature of the typical black man, we blacks are now the designated bottom feeders of the human race..

Let's blame our Northern brothers who are breeding children like rats.
And our greedy Eastern brothers who are operating baby factories.

Finally, Let's blame MannaBBgrills for having 13 children for one deaf and dumb Afonja man.
