Try and renew if you can, find a contact in Immigration offices in Ilorin, Akure etc to have a shorter passport processing time, then when you get passport request, you will submit both old and new.

To renew over there in Canada, u will have to go to Ottawa to do it, depending on ur location in Canada, that might cost you about 1,000CAD or more (flight, hotel, passport fee etc)

Thelz:

Please if you do not mind me asking, my passport will expire august next year which is more than 8months now ..does it mean I have to renew for new one before sending to them when they request for it..or can I still use it and renew when it expires ..please I need urgent answer on this because am in between renewing or leaving it because of stress and time it would take please

MumTee, have you got your passport back?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by MumTee: 1:08pm On Nov 11, 2022
NIS will renew it even if it is 8 months validity remaining. You just have to explain the reason to them (they call it migration)

jaydave:
According to NIS they won’t attend to renewal only if it’s 6months to expiration , I don’t know if the policy has changed now . I doubt if they would renew ur 8months to expiration pp, but if they do, u have to let ircc knw bout ur updated pp via webform so by the time ur application gets approved you can able to submit the new passport for stamping instead of d old one

One is ready for collection, no update yet on the other passport. And both were submitted same day
wolske:

Any update? Have you heard from them? I think this issue is being experienced by those who submitted in Lagos VFS.

Thank you Pace6. Please do you know if undergraduates are allowed to go with dependents?
Pace6:

IMO: you don’t have to pay school fees to get admission, you only pay application fee to be admitted if you meet the requirements and pay tuition deposit to confirm your seat if the institution requests for it.

But you must pay visa application fee before your Study Permit is approved. Biometrics: 85CAD + Application fee: 150CAD= 235CAD

It is only when you’re using an agent that agent will tell you you’re not paying anything until visa comes out and you have to be very very careful with such agents.

Good luck going forward

You welcome, I’m not sure about that.

But why would you want to go for an undergraduate program?

Select temporary residence(applied online), there’s a space for you to write your message, write that you made additional tuition fee deposit and that you’re attaching evidence for reference.

Ensure yo include your UCI and Application Number in the message and also in the spaces it requested for it.

When you click next, it will ask if you want to attach a document, click yes.

It will end in praise.

Thanks alot brother

I was in this same boat. I submitted since 20th October but I've picked up mine today. I went to their office on Wednesday to find out what's going on and they said it wasn't yet ready because of the Uk/US embassy alert. By yesterday's evening they sent me a message to come pick it up.

@Lilkalifaa, did you also receive emails containing your counterfoil and Letter of introduction in your CIC account? If so, did the emails come prior to the time you picked up your passport or after?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Tgbengus151(m): 2:38pm On Nov 11, 2022
Even with the #9290 calculation, what you paid still wasn't enough. You still have a balance of #120. I am trying to figure out why you couldn't even sum it up and just pay 30k let them keep the change instead of short-paying them with an amount that isn't even the actual amount. After all the stress involved in this Canada japa hustle, this should be the bottom barrel of issue to have with them.

It is well.

Just pay them their balance so your passports can be treated.

Vecas:
Good day everyone.
I sent ny passport and my kids to vfs office yesterday and paid 9290 each. Total of 27750.
I got a call today that I have to buy 9990 each .
Otherwise they won't treat the passport.
M just confused .

Does the process involve this .

Kindly advise ..thanks

What about renewing it when it's already stamped with Visa and going with both? As the stamp is just for entry into Canada and study permit at the point of entry on the new passport, can it work that way?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Tgbengus151(m): 2:45pm On Nov 11, 2022
Yep, you are on the right track. You can also add a miscellaneous of about $2-3kCAD and some estimated amount to serve as your airfare as well.

Hello guys,

I got admitted to Fleming College to study Project Management (1Yr or 8months) and to Seneca College (2yrs) to study Business Marketing.
Both courses are because I am working as a Product Manager in Marketing.
I want to know if after paying the tuition deposit for Seneca for 1st semester, the POF should show for 2years living expense and 3 semester balance. Am I correct?

You have a deadline that would not permit you to use form A except your school would be willing to grant you some time after your due date.

If the latter is a possibility, use another bank - except if you only have a UBA account.

If this is not a possibility then quickly use black market, open a USD account fast with Uba, fund the account, get their dollar card and use.

Good luck.
How much is actually the visible and hidden charges?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by tlk2Prince(m): 2:55pm On Nov 11, 2022
You are correct and I’d also suggest you increase the funds and say you have your ticket money available To and Fro and other miscellaneous…

Do you have any experience applying to defer admission date? I have recently been admitted to Centennial college, May 2023 intake... But an unforeseen circumstance unfolded and I want to move my admission to September 2023...

I have sent several emails to the school about this but I have not received any feedback since i started pursuing to defer the admission date.

Any tips on how to quickly get this done?

When did you apply? Did your sponsor make commitment like paying at least a year tuition and transferring the living expenses to your account?

I received only my Letter of Introduction in my account. It dropped when my passport was still in transit back to me. I picked it up the next day.

Depends on the University/College/Polytechnic. Some will allow you to defer stating the reason for deferral while some will not.

That’s why it’s advisable to always look at deferral and refund policy when choosing any of the institutions.

Alright! Thank you.

Also, after biometric is completed, how long could it take for the approval of one's VISA?

Good evening All.. Trust we all are doing fine.
Please my question goes to Senaca College students. I got an offer today, I heard someone has to pay 1year tuition fee as a deposit.. But in my own offer.. I'm seeing "there is no condition to this offer" so I just accepted the offer.. My question is, is it compulsory to pay tuition deposit.. Because I clicked on pay deposit fee but no amount was showing there.. It is showing 0.00.
