Super Eagles vs Portugal: November 17

Same Lame ass Limited Midfield.

Only one of our top 4 Midfield performers this season made the list. The other 3 were not selected. Poor.

Bruno Soporuchukwu Onyemaechi's first call. Comes in for Injured Zaidu.

Bright Osayi-Samuel's first call obviously to come in as RB in place of injured Ola Aina.

Here we go.

Our coaches and administrators have this ideology that we don't need midfielders and we will learn the hard way. Without midfielders we will never win the nation's cup and we won't qualify for the next world cup.
Attack wins you matches but midfield wins you the competition.
Without a midfield you can beat Portugal but then loose to Cameroon and not qualify for the world cup.
We will learn the hard way

Yeah you are right but apart from a handful of teams not many countries have great midfields like that.

5 midfielders in a 23 man squad isn't bad sir. The mighty Brazil are only going with 6 middies out of 26 to the world cup.

I am sure the other top 3 midfield performers you were referring to are Onyedika, Alhassan and Nwakali. The coach had the opportunity of watching Onyedika over 2 games and for now has made his decision which we are of course are at liberty to question. I would think one of Alhassan and Nwakali could have been invited but Peseiro has worked with Aribo, Onyeka and Etebo and he obviously trusts them with this invitation. The generals should keep churning out good performances, surely at this rate, their time will come.

We need pure midfielders not midfielders that will leave the defense hanging.

Aribo is not a midfielder.

Nwakali
Alhassan-yusuf
Iwobi
Onyeka
Onyedika
Ndidi

The above should be the midfield 6. Can also add:
Bonke
Tijani
Etebo
Kingsley Michael
Eze
Olise

From the look of things seems JP wants to phase out Omeruo, Balogun and Shehu in the defense.

Wish he would have tried out new guys in midfield. We already know how the likes of Aribo, Onyeka and Etebo play. Would have been nice to get another look at Onyedika or even a see how Alhassan performs.

The attack plus or minus one or two names based on impact in the team or poor performance should be the core of our team going forward.

Alhaji Musa you're a stand up guy and a great servant of the national team but this would be a perfect time to leave the Super Eagles. Don't think he can bring anything that this current crop won't be able to do as well.

Jose making too much sense but at the same time it serves Tammy and others right. These foreign players don’t evaluate and weigh their options well when choosing the country to rep in international football.

Imagine maguire displacing tomori who hv been a steady figure in the serie A for giants AC Milan

Another that’s is annoying is Philips picked ahead of Southampton’s skipper prowse

Waiting till Alhassan starts having the impact of Onuachu in Beligian league before he receives his call up. Even the king of Belgium in the person of onuachu is still struggling for the second striker role in Nigeria. When Alhassan starts tearing down Belgium we will call him. Those we have are just as good as him with experience.

Mohmadou Idrissou goes after Samuel Eto'o for keeping Ngadeu out of list for Qatar

According to the former indomitable lions striker, Song picked Makon who has not had game time ahead of Ngadeu simply because Makon is married to the cousin of Eto'o insinuating without proof that the big 9 influenced the choice

It's not clear if his allegations have any basis. Song Meanwhile had insisted he will pick his list based on merits and what he termed players who have lions fighting spirit

Perfect list for a friendly match. The midfield is great. Out of the 23 only 18 might play so no complain. Paserio is a no nonsense coach. Only inform and tested players will be invited. Etebo was the star man in our last qualifiers. He is going no where. Alhassan is average. Onyedika still finding his feet. We are good to go. Happy Ebeuhi is back. I was expecting either Success or Okereke to make the list. No wahala, we good.
The battle for the 2nd striking position is between Awoniyi, Iheanacho and Onachu. Oshimen and Moffi are safe.

Senegal's list: Mane in, Ligue 2 player in

Sadio Mane is going to the WC even if on crutches. Senegal need their main Talisman.

Meanwhile, Formose Mendy, A player from French Ligue 2 side, Amiens SC is heading to the FIFA World Cup with Senegal but in here, some folks will talk down HYPOCRITICALLY on division 2 players who can come in and add value to the Super Eagles.

Senegal has more than one Division 2 players by the way. THEY HAVE 5 DIVISION 2 PLAYERS heading to the mundial.

Apart from the well known, Ismaila Sarr of Watford and the above mentioned Formose, there are 3 others from the English Championship. A GK from QPR (Seny Dieng) and 2 Ndiayes from Reading and Sheffield utd.

They even have a player from Cyprus.

Question: You (Nigeria) better past Senegal??

I insist that National team selections should always focus first on the quality and tactical value a player brings before we consider where he plays. It's that simple.

Player's Tactical and Technical Value >>>>>>>> Player's playing location.

Senegal doesn't have a good team. All these na sugar coating. They barely score from open play. With Mane injured they will score no single goal at the world cup. Mark this post.

I agree with you. I will think the starting line up will be
Uzoho
Ebuehi Ekong. Kevin. Bassey
Ndidi. Iwobi
Ademola Moffi V.O. Simon

Knowing Peseiro for who he is, he is likely to start a 4-4-2. I would prefer a 4-3-3 though. A midfield triad of Ndidi - Onyeka - Iwobi.
