He was trying to compare kengen that is worth only 170 million to VRA, inorder to do that, he must devalue VRA so kengen can match.

That kid is crazy as F grin
VRA installed capacity of 2600mw has made losses in six years in a row ..kengen 2000mw has never made loss in it's history..it shares floated..it now a world leader in geothermal power that is contracted by other countries to dig 5km rigs inside the earth crust.Kengen total revenues are 600m dollars ..VRA is a loss making thing no sane person will buy..first let it be profitable before you think it's of valuation.

It easy to know the value of an asset because it's not unique to Ghana...you can use kengen which is floated as model..you can use Eskom...you can use hundreds of such utility companies to know it's worth.VAR first has to make at least 5yrs of profit before it can be allowed to be sold say through IPO because as of now it's worthless piece of indebted crap that has been making six years of losses.Who will buy such? How does a utility company like that makes losses? It can't even pay for Nigeria gas and you're talking thermal units.Youre typical west African baboons
VRA has made profit every year since it inception... The VRA which has several companies under it mandate made loses for 5 years of power crisis in Ghana ending 2018 because of it investment mandate in several gas projects in order to switch from HFO to gas which brought their valuation to 24 billion dollars in 2020 and currently at 30 billion dollars in 2022 after acquiring more.

Go to bed... Nothing in Kenya is as valuable as GNPC or VRA or Ghana Gas ..
These are the companies that have been repaying all of Ghana debt since 2010. And they've chopped a greater portion of Ghana debt. grin grin

VRA has made losses in six years...that stubborn fact and just made little profit last year.Nobody will want such piece of crap however it's potential.Secondly why is your gov borrowing money for you SOEs.No wonder you're ever bankrupted. In Kenya SOEs borrow and pay for their debt...gov is just the guarantor sometimes..and rarely step in
VRA if it was profitable and we'll run would borrow their own money and repay but because it's worthless poorly run it's saddled your gov with debt.I was wondering what mad man was ranting about borrowing for profitable venture...in Kenya we borrow to build roads or such...not to invest in SoEs.SoEs borrow their own money from commercial banks. If kengen want to build a power plant they go to say Japan and borrow if they can't meet all the money...Kenya gov is not even aware that it will borrow when or how... those details.. unless it starts to struggle

Learn to read carefully... Safaricom at 38 was worth 18b...there is bear market globally and therefore it's value is depressed. The company valuation at start is assets minus liabilities plus ability to make profit..NPP has just made profit once in 20yrs that Nigeria senators says it was sleepy Buhari cooking books. That thing is useless because it's made losses for 40yrs.Try to IPO or sell it so you know the price
You are not smart. The valuation of Safaricom is less than$9bn. How can that ever compare to NNPC with it's vast assets and oil and gas reserves? I used to think you were different from the likes of suffering smiling, the shema.le and gallipig. Now I see no difference.

The ninny is fighting a lost battle as usual. You don't compare a stupid $8bn company half owned by foreigners to an oil company with reserves of crude oil.

A loss making company for 40yrs being propped by external borrowing is worthy negative...it costing you.Safaricom shares will go up once Fed reduces interests and foreign investor return.Safaricom is a jewel and Npp a burden. You think just because Saudi Amarco is big the Npp is big...why the forthy years of losses.Obaboon 40yrs Npp has made losses

DRC is worthy 40 trillion in reserves but I won't buy it for a dollar.NPP has made losses for fourthy years because it worthless .Every country has those reserves of minerals...but nobody serious can value such as wealth...until you extract and sell it profitably..Npp has failed for fourthy years ... just imagine 40 yrs

Kengen only has 1,200MW

Kengen is value at 170 million dollars with revenue flow of 370 million

That's peanuts grin

If we decide to list VRA, GNPC, EXPLORCO, Ghana Gas and Gridco alone on the Ghana stock exchange... They will easily drive the stock exchange to be 120 billion dollars worth.

We have shelved those decisions because those companies are already managed like private companies and are able to borrow on their own balance sheet while govt just becomes a guarantor.

Out of Ghana 54 billion debt, these companies own 34 billion of it on their balance sheet.
In actual sense, Ghana govt real debt is just 20 billion dollars.

Fortunately, VRA is properly run like a private company and has borrowed on it balance sheet to own several assets. Which has made it a very large company by valuation.
Because it is properly runned, we opted not to list it in the stock market for now until we urgently need money.

VRA has been profitable for more than 50 years ... Ghanaians kicked against it listing because we saw it as a way of privatizing it in 2017.

There's no need listing a company that is privately run and can borrow on it balance sheet

You're not smart... There's a difference between VRA and VRA group.
VRA is never made a loss but the group holding for 5 years. The group holding has several obligation to bring various energy assets under it umbrella.

VRA has the ability to hold payment when obligations are not met.. Revenue flows in it fuel business alone is worth 2 billion dollars.. VRA just paid 750 million dollars to Ghana gas for fuel supplied and paid NNPC of Nigeria for it gas after both companies settled their obligations to each other.

VRA has gone on to reduce gas demand from Nigeria to just 50scfd because Ghana Gas Sankofa gas field has come onstream. An 8 billion dollars investment from GNPC to develop with VRA as a priority offtaker... grin grin

These monies are too large for any Kenyan company to fantom

The Ghanaian govt own 100% of AirtelTigo business.

Your Safaricom can't be compared to any of the companies you want to compare it with.. First manage to own 100% of it and then we can start talking about how you'll compare it to Ghana Gas which is valued at 15 billion dollars.

Yet VRA fuel business revenue flows is around 2 billion dollars . is that not more than 10 times the size of your kengen? grin
That's the amount it it spend acquiring fuel for various companies including private companies in various sectors.

Investors were busy lining up to buy VRA off in 2017 but for the vigilance of Ghanaians. The likes of Franklin Templeton Investment with 1.3 Trillion dollars in asset under management, a fund that is friendly to the Finance minister of Ghana.
