The presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, has said of all the qualities he possesses heading to the February 25, 2023 presidential poll, being trustworthy is the most important.

He said, “The fact that Nigerians can trust me is my most cherished asset.”

In a series of tweets on his verified Twitter handle @Peter Obi, on Sunday, the LP presidential candidate reiterated his earlier warning to Nigerians to avoid falling into the trap of settling for less or repeating the mistakes of past.


Obi said: “We can no longer gamble with our fate and future. I’m running for President because I am qualified.

“I have the capacity, credibility, commitment, stamina, governance experience, and track record. More importantly, Nigerians can trust me.”

He explained that as things stand today, Nigeria is only working for a tiny minority to thedetriment of the larger majority.

Obi said, “There is Nigeria; but there are no Nigerians.

“Currently, Nigeria works for a small minority of people; Nigeria must work for ALL Nigerians.

“Nigerians must be able to dwell securely and in safety wherever they live. This is the first duty of government.”


The former Anambra State governor noted that the desire of Nigerians to take back their country is total and unanimous because everybody wishes for a better life.

According to him, “The desire to take Nigeria back is nearly unanimous.

“We may be used to the old order; but we cannot vote for continuity of corruption, recklessness, impunity and poverty.

“Deprivation is not habit forming. Nigerians desire a better life.”

Obi lamented that the damage successive bad leadership has done to the psyche of Nigerians was such that “Nigeria is badly in need of a reformative leadership.

“Bad leadership has hurt us deeply, damaged our psyche and diminished our potentials and dreams.”

Giving Obi a chance in 2023 would not be largesse to the bespectacled ascetic what is at stake transcends one man he is just a catalyst for the new Nigeria we desire. It is more about the things his emergence would represent: that the people come first, that democracy must indeed be of the people, by the people and for the people.

That anyone can emerge as president no matter what part of the country they come from or how they worship, as long as they are best suited for the job; that people with the sheer power to vote can sack the stale politicians with their shopworn ideas and toxicity.

Nigeria at this time needs a visionary, not an emperor. We must wrest ourselves from the manacles of those who have held us bound and have become entitled to our commonwealth.

We must shun prejudices as we forge ahead to become a prosperous nation. We must make this Obi experiment now and turn the tide against the political elite because fortune only favours the brave. It is in our hands.

Peter Obi is a very humble man, we already trust him to be the most competent force that can change Nigeria for us and our unborn generations.

These achievements even if true,how have they contributed to the development of anambra state 10years after his tenure.governance and government performance is measured by developments and not growth.all the cars and laptops he bought over 12years ago today are scraps,so anambra is back to pre-obi era.
Tell me which major breakthrough has anambra state teaching university made in the little efforts of teaching hospitals in nigeria apart from normal cesarean sessions.

I don't like to compare amambra to Lagos cos both states are moving at seperate pace,but out of maybe ignorance or whatever most of you will deliberately downplay the improvements in other states whereas there is nothing to show in your states.in which sector of economic parameters does anambra beats lagos or what is anambra state government doing today that lagos state government has not done since 8years ago.
