the management: put unnecessary pressure on players thinking united is still united they where used to hence many players don't know how to perform under pressure.
Fans: either they overhyped the player thereby making the player to start feeling like Obasanjo hence low output or they'll use criticism and kill the morale of that player.
United fans are toxic.

Lastly the quality of the manager: the last quality manager United had was Mourinho and van gaal.
