Why? The devil took over from Adam as the god of this world. The dominion mandate God gave to Adam was now utilized by the devil at night.

Since the fall of Adam, the devil, the god of this world, has spiritually dominated the earth especially from the night hours.

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
