No top candidate is saying they'll fight corruption cos they don't have the moral capacity to say such. One of Peter Obi's major selling point is CHARACTER encapsulated in TRANSPARENCY and ACCOUNTABILITY.

No other candidate comes close. Below is an excerpt from his lecture today at Lagos Business School.

So the replies from A40 have been emotional.
Your replies are not emotional but logical.. Any one that doesn't agree with your view point are emotional grin.

Atleast we both agree that Obi and soludo have different goals.
Bro no dey waste your time with this guy. He said emotional. Me that I've said everyone has a right to support whoever they want

I gave a simple analogy. If you're a boxer preparing for a fight do you hire a trainer that tells you you can't win. What incentive do you have to collaborate or trust him on anything moving forward.

Maybe he just wants to play Devil's advocate. But what is Obi's incentive to work with Soludo. A guy who he has beaten in the past and more significantly what is Soludo's use to the present APGA candidate? You have never used your platform even once to campaign for said guy and openly claiming he can't win while at the same time openly saying you courted Obi first.

Does this look like someone any sane politician should be doing business with? The man has barely completed 1 year as governor. If politics was the military he would be a Major trying to pull rank on a Colonel or Brigadier General. That's instant court martialing unless you're El Mustapha under Abacha

.

So why do you think the other politicians in PDP will align with an Okowa presidency.

Because if Atiku finishes 8 years, he will relinquish power to the South. The only Southerner politically positioned for that remains Okowa. Unless you have another candidate in mind, you can name him

There's a precedent showing that no VP has left to become president immediately after his boss.
Infact the only time it has happened, someone had to die.

Who made this precedent?

There is a precedent that only white people can rule the US, until one day.....

So how is your view of the future sure and mine when I say it won't happen the one that shouldn't be considered?

You are asking me of the future now. That shows you see very good reasons with my points.

I don't know what the future knows. We are talking about the present, and i think as mere mortals, its the best sample for the experiment

Truth is Soludo was trying to use Peter Obi's presidential election under APGA as a ladder towards him emerging as some kind of defacto head of the South East region. That in itself isn't a bad thing, but him being sneaky about it is the issue.

Ohh and one final thing about this Soludo business. I and a lot of others are not supporting Obi cause he's Igbo. I'm not Igbo. If Obi was Hausa or Fulani I'd support him too. Not cause I think he's perfect but because if we have to choose between Atiku and arugbo ojo Tinubu. Obi at least gives Nigeria a fighting chance

So for Soludo to make this a tribal thing tells me he doesn't know what time it is at all

E no consign me whether he worked for Deloitte or not. In the capacity he claimed to have worked for Deloitte, it is nothing special, I deal with them and Ernst & Young every few months as they audit us, and he is nowhere near earning $100k in the 80s, talkless of the amount he is claiming. Most of their audit seniors lack some basic knowledge of accounting recognition, and it's very easy to sneak material amounts past them in the accounts, most of their training being limited to seeing a recognition in the books and asking for invoice or contract to justify that recognition.

For Tinubu to claim he was receiving bonus of $850k from Deoitte, my BS meter will even say he didn't work for Deloitte in any decent capacity to come up with such a ridiculous figure. Audit companies don't pay huge bonuses, and would typically pay 10-50% of your salary as bonus, depending on your level, with 50% being at Director/VP level and 10-20% at senior level. This is not an investment bank that share profits to traders. Even MDs and VPs in Investment Banks that share profits will struggle to hit $850k bonus easily except in a really bumper year.

The main koko be say Tinubu forfeited money related to drug transactions. All this shalaye or defending him like voltron is not necessary. Tinubu still remains to me the candidate with the best track record of executive Governance amongst the three and they should campaign on that, not defending Deloitte or Drug forfeitures. All our politicians are crooks, and we expect some magomago in the background.
I share same sentiments but his age is a big no for me...There's Sowore and another young Edo guy on the ballot who has impressed me almost everytime I listen to him.

Where did i call Abiola a patron saint?

What i am saying is that it is strange to think that a drug dealer President annulled an election because the winner was a drug dealer.

And i know the fine details of all the coups and i am aware of Abiola's role in financing the 1983 and 1985 coups.
I didn't say you did. I was speaking generally to how June 12 seems to have done a lot of whitewashing of Abiola.

We understand that IBB was a supervillain but Abiola no Holy pass. Not in the least. I do suspect there was a screwjob somewhere. My own conspiracy theory is IBB wanted to hand over to his guy Abacha as payback for his loyalty and saving his bacon

And the whole annulment was just a ruse to muddy the whole thing

Very mature response, there's no point joining issues with Soludo. It's funny that Soludo will prefer to muddy solid thinking points with needless diatribe, there's nothing he said in his essay that he couldn't have said without attacking Peter Obi and his support base.

He's come out to speak to the masses countless times about the critical matters of his manifestó. He's not circumventing or doing it via proxies and spokespersons. Any of them can hire someone to write a manifesto, can they come out and defend what is there... Obi has done and still doing so till today.

Check the character of the man and see if he can be held accountable for the things in the pact. Now compare and contrast with other top candidates especially on the area of accountability.

So how will he respond without mentioning the main issue he is responding to

Have you also factored the possibility of him and Atiku falling out or the people atiku has made certain promises to on his way to aso rock.

But then, I am talking about the HOW. I would appreciate you read their manifesto again and look for the HOW. It is almost nonexistent

One man has made himself available. Opened himself to scrutiny and exposure. The other two are in hiding and picking and choosing when and who they respond to. The other guy is answering every question. Engaging everybody whether he's perfect or not you know he will at least be an accessible president will be available for criticism and will respond as well

People have seen 8 years of Buhari and with a way to escape are still contemplating between Tinubu and Atiku. Who do Nigeria this thing? Is it BDSM or wetin

Oh ok. I get you now.

I don't think IBB intended to hand over permanently to Abacha. To understand IBB's moves you have to go back to his time as an instructor in the NDA in the early 70s to his time commanding the Army Armoured Corps, and finally get to his roles in the 1983 and 1985 coups.

The guy was like a mafia don who had established a commission of young officers who accepted him as sort of a first among equals. His powers were not absolute, and he depended heavily on those officers (the so-called IBB boys), which is one reason why he was happy to annul the election immediately those same officers kicked against Abiola's presidency.

The other reason was IBB's innate greed which made it easier for him to acquiesce to the demands of his clique, since IBB himself was happy to stay in power for as long as possible. That is why IBB instead of resigning or stepping down from office, announced that he was "stepping aside" in the belief that his main man Abacha would hand power back to him. Abacha now played a fast one on him.
