The Nigeria Maritime sector is robust and ought to grow stronger. We are blessed with several deep seaports. However, for some inexplicable reason, we tend to cluster our import and export activities around the Lagos Ports, thus creating avoidable bottlenecks.

We should decongest Lagos Ports via a deliberate policy of incentivizing end-destination priorities. This will also curtail on-land heavy haulage transshipments that take a tool on our road infrastructure.

I hope I have done justice to the subject under discussion provided answers and insights into our plan for Nigeria. I thank you all for your kind attention. -PO

Good, anything to reduce the excess fish in the mouth of the lagos state Emperor governors. All these Lagos IGR shakara must end. The economical position which lagos enjoys must be spread to other parts of the six geopolitical zones. If not, then why are we a republic?!

Decongestion of Lagos Seaport?

This is what Tinubu BATstards don’t like hearing.

Those fools want everything concentrated in Lagos.

that’s why they are justifying Federal Government building another Deep Seaport in Lekki instead of revitalizing other seaports in other parts of the country.

These are the FG infrastructures that boost Lagos IGR yet they have nothing to show for it.

What do you mean? Lagos state political godfathers do not want other states to gain from Nigeria's geographical position. They want to be the only one enjoying the wealth.

I love this, it will greatly reduce the population of Lagos thereby, it will also increase the IGR of other states with seaport. There will be great developments in those states.

Idiot, you were in PDP for 8 years, ibos have been subservient for 16 years. You were once appointed an economic adviser to GEJ, in all of the years, you were only busy importing ketchup and tomato pastes and diverting funds in your Fidelity Bank while SS ports rots away. Thanks to Buhari and APC, SS ports in Onne, Warri, are functional while Tinubu has promised to revitalize Calabar seaport.

cool

Ibos and their obsession with Lagos.

Tinubu's plan is far superior as contained in Renewed hope 23 manifesto;

Calabar Seaport would serve NorthEast and Chad through eastern rail, and Onitsha river port through river Niger

Ibeju Lekki Deep Sea port would serve Dangote world largest Refinery, Dangote Fertilizer

Akwa ibom Deep Sea port would serve BUA group refinery

Ondo and Edo deep sea port would serve SouthWest and NorthCentral

Ibadan inland port would help Apapa NPA through trains, Baro river port Kaduna would transfer Northern farm produce for export using berger to connect Apapa

Tinubu also claimed he will revive other port and give people incentive to use other port.

It is mentioned boldly in Tinubu manifesto.

However to the Obiidiots on this thread saying that will reduce Lagos IGR, Lagos just finished facilitating a new mega port and so long the market is in Lagos, it will continue to prosper.

By the way, FG takes the revenue from the port and not Lagos government.

LegendHero:
Punch the lazy media, are those the only highlight of the manifesto?

There are lot of highlights from that policy document. Some of them are:

—The policy document gives student the right to borrow from TetFund to pay school fees and they pay back in installment when employed.

— Establish new management system for federally funded primary & Secondary schools. This will be managed by boards of education and the membership will include members of the local communities who will have decision making powers. This board will oversee management of all government school within a given locality.

—Establish through new legislation a special education fund consisting of zero coupon bonds. The bonds will be sold in tranches to private investors or purchased in market clearing exercise by CBN. This will find universities while reducing the per capita tuition cost to students.[/b]

—NSCDC will now be handling VIP security and the police will focus on the usual securing of the populace.

—He will introduce Forest Security Force which will be a section that will man the forest in Nigeria to gather intelligence and act on it.

—Anti-Terrorist Battalions (ABATTS) will be created and they will be drawn from special squad with strategic and tactical abilities to go after terrorism and bandits.

—Merge housing agencies into a single vibrant one and they have three main core functionalities:
-Grant low interest rate mortgage.
-Guarantee qualified mortgages through bank.
-purchase mortgages from private banks.

—We are moving away from budget projection based on dollar value of oil revenue. The fiscal methodology will base the budgeting on projected level of government spending which optimizes growth and jobs without causing unacceptable level of inflation.

—He Introduced commodity boards for farmers which establishes minimum prices for cashew, cocoa, okra, palm, cassava, and etc. which will guarantee them that their proceeds will be fully bought. This will be done in conjunction with the private sector.

—Establish a FG funding for local government to construct storage facilities in major marketplaces of major cities/town to minimize waste and better preserve perishable food items.

—Establish special Enforcement and monitoring unit with mandate to protect the pipelines by deploying technological interventions of stationary aerial monitoring platforms. This will support the goal of increasing oil production to 2.6mmbpd by 2027.

—Create host communities Development Trust which will foster greater assistance from oil company to host communities. He will also mandate IOCs to assign a share of revenues towards knowledge sharing and tech transfers to indigenous companies.

—Decongest the Apapa Port and encourage greater use of other major seaports in the country such as Onne, Warri and Calabar. Our policies will include tax relief, credits, relaxed duties and tariffs and other financial incentives.

While LASG is making frantic efforts attracting investors, Igbos are seething in hate. This is why you people would continue to burn down SE and kill any dissenting voices, even if it's your own Governor. The economic indices of war torn NE would soon overtake SE.
