The FIFA scandal documentary on Netflix is a must watch for every Nigerian vis-a-vis African.
There are huge lessons to take home for the black race regarding his penchance to put personal greed ahead of community good and development.

Qatar basically won the hosting right for the world cup by buying up majority of the members in the 22-man committee which voted in the decision to award the 2022 world cup hosting right to the gulf nation.

Michele Platini in return for his vote forced the Qataris to enter into an arms deal with France worth billions of dollars, plus buy their aircrafts, and a football club in France (Yeah, that's how they came about PSG).

The Brazilians traded their vote for a gas deal which saw the setting up of a fully functional mega gas plant in the Amazon nation.

The Africans among them asked for 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS wired straight to their personal accounts.

Like bro, you came to the table where nation-changing deals were being made and all you cared for was your personal account balance? Not the millions of lives that could be changed forever? You didn't ask for your country's share of those far reaching deals of epic national proportions worth in the regions of several hundred millions of dollars. Instead you went for a self serving interest thereby denying your people the luxury of a better life?

That Netflix docu summed up the mentality of the the African man in its entirety. If you are wondering why it's the richest yet poorest continent, look no further.
I find it baffling that western nations who have espoused the philosophy and primacy of individualism as their social model are still the ones who have structures that accommodate and serves the needs of the community but black Africa with our much vaunted philosophy of Ubuntu and our tribal instincts more often than not selfishly pander to individual interest over that of the community or nation.

Napoli can only pull such shit with the cooperation of the player involved, because Napoli don't have the power to stop a national team invite

The query should be directed at Osimhen and let us leave Napoli out of it

Exactly........

We won’t b playing more Dan three games if we had qualified, with our present defense and midfield #fact

God Bless you bro

They want to start an agenda of "SE deserve to qualify than Ghana does "

If we did, why didn't we win at least one of the two matches

They think osimhen and lookman will automatically perform magic with that nonsense midfield and piss poor defense..or is it out basket GKs wey dey always commit at least one error per match

I'm even happy we didn't qualify....better not to go there and disgrace our ancestors .

Nonsense....

English football is influenced unfairly by non football variables to a large extent. Protectionism means players can be protected from better players taking thier position.

Most club football recruitment directors are looking for the best players with the best deal for themselves not necessarily the club. Which takes priority the best deal or the best player is open to debate.

However, this means that there are quality players who have been overlooked or side stepped to make way for thier preferred players. This is an opportunity to get players before they become big news.

I have watched Onyedinma it's quite surprising he is still playing for League 1 Millwall. He started playing first team at 17 in the championship.

Onyedinma was being pursued by Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool when he was 16. Somehow politics has taken over. Unlike Tyrone this guy can cope with any kind of physicality Cameroon will throw at us. But needs to be capped asap I predict a premiership club will be making moves for him soon. This guy is considerably better than Lookman.

It's for the Nigeria official to be proactive in getting those players who are very good quality but not recognised and or unfairly treated. In a sense thier loss our gain, we should be discovering them before they are discovered by the big English clubs.

Komekn, please come out and tell me you are not the one that wrote those, especially the ones in bold letters.

I was watching our highlights vs England pre 2018 World Cup friendly, and I discovered the Goal Harry kane scored uzoho was similar to the one he conceded against partey in abuja, both went underneath his body ,Although that of kane had more power and pace on it.,
Moving forward I'm not still convinced on our Gk issues, I hope they don't cost us more in future games

Possible XI against Portugal

but if I see any 4-4-2 then it will be final that Jose Peseiro is just another un serious coach

By the way, Arthur Okonkwo is having a hell of a season – 17 games played, 6 clean sheets, 5 MOTM, 55 out of 75 saves made, 88% duel success, etc. He will be heading to the Championship next season definitely.
No gain saying his baseline is better than these bums we currently parade in the national team.
I want him to stay at Arsenal but he may not get a chance. I'm not sure Hein(3rd choice) and Turner (2nd choice) are better than him. He should just move permanently..
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 11:06am On Nov 16, 2022
Based on the midfield list, would prefer Onyeka alongside Ndidi and Iwobi in the middle. Aribo to the bench.

And Bassey should play LCB in a 4 man defence but I see your point on him likely to play LB if Ekong starts alongside Akpoguma.

And GK would be Uzoho obviously.

The attack 3 is what I expect in Osimhen's absence but Peseiro and 442 na 5 & 6.

He is not injured bro... Napoli just didn't want to release him. And Osimehn is not someone who likes controversial stuffs probably why he is not taking action.

Nigeria manager Jose Peseiro now has the full complement of twenty three players invited for the upcoming friendly against Portugal.

Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze could drop down the pecking order of wingers for the match against the World Cup-bound European nation following his late arrival to the team's camp on Tuesday.

The 2015 U17 World Cup winner is expected to train with the national team on Wednesday after missing the sessions on Monday and Tuesday.

Chukwueze arrived in Portugal in good form with a goal involvement of four (2 goals, 2 assists) in his last appearance for Villarreal, the first time he has achieved the feat in his professional career.

Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers, a late replacement for Victor Osimhen, and Omonia Nicosia goalkeeper Francis Uzoho participated in the training session on Tuesday evening after linking up with the squad earlier in the day.

Pesiero is expected to pick his best starting lineup from the players in camp, given that Portugal coach Fernando Santos has indicated that he would name a strong side with an eye on their World Cup opener against Ghana.

Nigeria will face off with Portugal at the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon on Thursday, November 17, kickoff 1945 hours Nigerian time.

4-4-2 won't be a bad idea against the might of Portugal, as it will enable us maintain a good defensive shape.

Etebo and lwobi will man the left and right side of the midfield respectively, while Onyeka and Ndidi will man the center of the midfield.

Aribo and Moffi as SS and CF respectively has a lot of promise, with Aribo dropping deeper when we don't have the ball, making it more like a 4-5-1 off the ball, crowding the midfield, ipso facto helping to shield our CB's and goalkeeper.

I can't think of any other midfield deployments especially on the left and right midfield other than that of Etebo and Iwobi. These guys will not only win possession, they will help maintain possession with their passing, our forwards will benefit immensely from their chipped passes and long balls.

What exactly is wrong with the setup.
I stand to tell you that if Peseiro decides to go 4-4-2 , this is actually the best thing you can come up with based on the pedigree of players in camp, and also on the quality of opposition. Aribo's presence as an SS is a booster of humongous proportions.
