It’s a false headline
Chukkol said it was seized from people trying to go through the airport with $6m or $2m and not BDCs

Listen to the interview properly before you spread fake news

Moderator, the title is not correct for the confiscated money was not from the BDCs, please the following excerpt and correct accordingly:

“ Through the Commission’s presence at the major gateway into the country, many arrests of cash smugglers have been made and humungous sums in foreign currencies recovered.

“Some were arrested with excess of $6 Million (Six Million United States Dollars), others with $2 Million (Two Million United States Dollars) and we know that these huge sums were not meant to be used in buying goods but stolen monies being laundered out of the country,” he said

Chukkol further stated that EFCC not only recovered some of these monies, but secured their forfeiture to the federal government, while the culprits were prosecuted.

How I wish Nigeria can handle financial criminals like China.

We know good things but we only do evil for selfish reasons.

God bless China. Until Nigeria wake up.

Very good, bureau the change operators hoards dollars and inflate the price, they make it hard for CBN to use monetary policy to manage dollar rise. There are lots of bureau de change in Eko hotel Lagos, federal palace, Ikota complex, EFCC must sustain the raid.

The problem is that you were probably thought basic economics back in school but you refused to learn or just didn't understand. You couldn't see how it affects real-life situations? This is one of the reasons why almost everything in Nigeria is backwards. BTW, the exchange rate has bounced back to 800

Left for me, this BDC thing should be scrapped and whoever needs foreign currency should approach the banks. BDC is one of the most unsuspecting means through which people redirect illegally acquired money. Worst is the business that even government takes part in. They have killed our naira.

Realists:
See pure wickedness, instead of Nigeria to start selling our crude oil in Naira, just like Russia did to war mongers aka NATO, for us to have a strong Naira. Nope we choose the Nzogbu Nzogbu tactics as rightly said by Prof C. Soludo.
No country wants our Naira in the international market, because we don't manufacture & export goods, the only thing we export happens to be crude oil and instead of us to sell it in Naira, we decided to sell it in dollars, due to our mumuism.
And you think your shithole country has the bargaining power to do so? Even if they by miracle succeed in selling crude in Nigeria, it still will not affect the naira. Tell me how the buyer's source for naira will to pay for the crude. let's say India decide to buy crude from Nigeria with naira, they first have to convert their rupees to naira thereby giving Nigerian rupees in exchange for naira, then tell me how Nigeria will be able to spend the Indian rupees they have now acquired. you all don't think, it is even more stressful that way, hence the reason for the introduction of petrodollar. When they decide to search for where to get Naira in the international market and they cant get it, what do you think they will do, they will definitely go for the next seller with an easier and accessible means of payment. do you think it is so easy to get your currency to the vault of almost all the banks in the world. If you think it is easy go to some countries and ask to buy naira, then you will be shock that you may not see anyone to exchange it for you. Kuwait sells their crude in dollars and their currency Kuwait dinar is over 3 times bigger than the US dollar. so you all should stop sounding dumb please.

It will affect you the most. i have never seen a set of misguided people all my life who truly love to support policy that put them in perpetual suffering and slavery and have the nerve to be celebrating it. Some Nigerians are truly zombies.

You all are just too dumb. What stops the CBN from providing access to dollars for the citizens at the price they want it to be exchanged then these BDC will fade out naturally. Soon dollar will become like contraband, then people who need dollar will not be able to access it. since CBN cannot provide then the price will climb to over N10,000.

You are truly a zombie. We are not poor like your sorry ass. Nigerians are truly idiots. Evrything in Nigeria is tied to international exchange rate. I kow you lots are typical illitartes that is why you are talking like this. Even if every Nigerian decides to go into production lets take farming as an example, the fertilizers where do you think we are going to get it from, even if we are producing it were then do you think we are going to get the raw materials from. Even if we then succeed to produce it at a cheaper rate compared to the international markets what stops our farmers from selling to the highest bidder at the international market, or you think they are too dumb to make more profits. You are just a fool with a low thinking capacity, maybe you are still a baby in your parents' house.
