I have a toks-grade '02 Camry SE, i4 for sale in Benin City.

1. Vehicle has a clean Carfax (can produce it for any serious buyer) and was used by only 2 persons in the US before it came to Nigeria. These two persons maintained it meticulously and the records are quite impressive.

2. Here in Nigeria, it was pampered and also maintained meticulously (by me) with OEM parts and fluids that either meet or exceed the manufacturer's specs.

3. Everything works. I mean, everything. Nothing like 'AC is working but needs gas' etc. Or any of the lies sellers of vehicles spew in order to transfer their problems to you

4. Everything is also in factory state. No kazeem or rewire rubbish. No bypass and the catalytic converters are still present (you can check, physically to confirm this).

5. Curiously, this 2AZ engine doesn't burn oil (one of the few options made in Japan that I suspect actually underwent the recall in the US)! As a matter of fact, I run an OCI of a year with the car (M1 EP with Fram US) and at the end of the cycle, the oil remains exactly where it ought to be on the dipstick. For this reason, I am willing to give a warranty of 2 weeks after purchase, provided no kazeem touches it and no strange or cursed lubes come close to it.

6. This vehicle is not banker used Neither was it registered by mistake It is not also 3 months used and I am not selling to relocate If you have been used to hearing these bl**dy lies, breathe in and out. This is one vehicle that you'll scratch your head and wonder if indeed it was used in Nigeria if you see it in person or inspect it.

7. My ideal buyer is someone who is looking for direct toks but cannot afford one due to the crazy price of this vehicle now. Accordingly, I'll be looking at taking off 500k off the toks value of the vehicle now in the market. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Once upon a time, I was going through this section, as I usually do, incognito.

I came across a comment that read something like: 'why would you put synthetic oil in a 15 year old car?'

I smiled and waka passed. I didn't want to break the poster's bubble because that was clearly, absolute, nonsense.

Assuming a vehicle has never been abused, and the engine is as well made as the Toyotas that are made in the spirit of Kaizen, right in Japan, their whole life will run on synthetic engine oil, brilliantly, with the exact specified weight without an issue.

This is the case of this '02 Camry.

Though 20 solid years old, the vehicle was meticulously maintained before it came to me (the Carfax was super detailed) and I kept up the culture.

Now, even as it is older than some folks here, it still holds M1, EP, 5W30 for a whole year, without any top up.

The most interesting part?

I have never even bothered with the so called 'high mileage' formulation for various reasons, major amongst which is the adverse effect of seals swelling and the lack of dexos approval.

And, the cute little lady has done just fine: fires up everyday, quiet as can be, delivers unfailingly, smokes many a V6 on the freeway and unlike Amaka, doesn't disappoint

Now, she is up for sale. If you need something that will serve you for years to come and you're not an abuser yourself, this is it.

If you're the typical 'oyel na oil'; '20W50 ma go work'; 'abeg put condemn for the power steering' or 'nothing beats Abro in a tranny' kinda of guy or gurl, you will be better suited for an abused, Nigerian unit, not this one.

Like should attract like

This is the extent to which this vehicle was pampered.

1. M1 EP, imported directly from the US, myself (I didn't want to take the risk of buying locally, so I flew the oil in).

2. See those filters? Those are also M1 filters. Imported directly from the US too. Why use great synthetic engine oil with a questionable oil filter? (I later switched to Fram Ultra Synthetic when I discovered that was even better. That was the luxury of the car with me. It was either the very best, or nothing!

3. See those radiator pressure caps? Those are from MotoRad, OEM manufacturer of the best cooling system products for the automotive aftermarket and OEM's. Again, the very best. I did not reason 'belgium' or 'toks' when I needed to change something as simple as the radiator cap! Instead, I went for OEM brand new (not Chinko) and that is the culture I used in maintaining this vehicle throughout its time with me.

Now, this vehicle is for sale...at a price well below what the toks is going for. This type of sweet deal doesn't always come around...and it may be some time before I sell another vehicle or you meet a Nigerian vehicle user like me.

This vehicle has a passthrough, from the trunk that lowers down (flat) the rear seats to create more cargo/trunk space.
