I said midfielders because those attributes only apply to midfielders. And trust me, if we run that attribute test, several of our MFs will fall short. Only few will pass the test on the overall weight of having most of the attributes if not all.

Now, If I discuss wingers, defenders (CBs and FBs), GKs and strikers, other attributes not listed will be mentioned as well.

But yes, some attributes listed there for MFs can apply to other depts of the team.

Tu comprends?

Yes others can, that's y I said Simon,

it is well sha

Watching old wc highlights and 2010 came along and I want to ask. Why exactly was kanu on the team to the wc. As in why exactly was he picked.

I expected NFF to invite players like Godwin Chika, Anayo Iwuala, Awoola,Ndah, ekpolo,Tebo Franklin, Austin Oladapo,Mbaoma and others for the Match against Costa Rica. They must have taken their share of the aforementioned players sign on fees,it is time to promote other rookies with the national team and also make money from their sign on fees.

senior football should be left for players ready for the national team. It was a senior international friendly with a world cup bound team.

Gents, Ladies, good evening.

As we all know, it's been rather a bad year for our football..At least mostly... we saw shege here and there...But there were also a few positives too.

In light of this, I'd like the thread's opinion as to whether the annual Nairaland Nigeria football fans award should go ahead this year? And if the thread permits,I'd like to organize the award again this year.

Those in support of the award to go ahead, click like...those against should click share.

Thank you

That is the truth. We don't have midfield and without midfielders we will sink into the bottomless pit of mediocrity. This pride of top 5 league will not work.
We badly need midfielders even if they are in obscure leagues.

As Issa Hayatou bagged his 1.5m bribe and their Amos Adamu and co, a part of me want to believe Cameroon may see KO stages, even if that is highly possible. I want to give Hayatou the benefit of doubt that his beloved red and greens under Eto'o were part of his bribery deal with dem Qatar.
you mean Cameroon will qualify from a group that have Brazil Switzerland and Serbia? If them see one goal them try

Which players Switzerland and Serbia have that Cameroon doesn't have? Cameroon will qualify from that group. Tunisia and Senegal groups too aren't that difficult. Ghana and Morocco group is a lit complicated.

Cameroon dies not have a winning mentality like Ghana Nigeria and Senegal have. They are bottlers on the world stage. It's a psychological thing

this your analogy no be am, Victor Moses aside how many foreign born have had a proper career with us? If Rohr used Aina consistently since 2017 I’m sure he’ll have a better career than Chidi Odiah for example.

I don't think there's any point to the awards this year.

No Nigerian footballer deserves any awards this year.
Some may have done well for their clubs but none has done anything worthy of recognition for any of the national sides

Until we get a coach that's conversant with the modern approach to football, forget it... None of the last 3 coaches had any sort of reputation for that... Even Keshi's team didn't exactly play fancy football especially when the team was often filled with NPFL players
Look at the dilemma with how to effectively deploy Iheanacho, now it's gradually becoming an issue with Aribo. And our football style is to say the least boring.

All Nigerian Sport team, male and female. All the tournaments played by the female reps this year proves this deficiency.

The male teams, especially at club competition, also proved this fact.

I guess Apc has shown us too much shege that we can't even focus on this abysmal dismal katastrofi.
I guess they have fried our brains. National Football is not so much a thing with most football fans in Nigeria. Their appetite for juicy football is sated by the fancy football they watch every weekend across Europe's elite leagues.

It's tiring walai, We've not had an intelligent coach for a long time that can compete on the international stage. Our players are just as good and experienced.

The same European star players bagging for their various clubs are the same ones bagging for their countries so why our own different ?
At their clubs, they play with a mix of good players who they train with frequently. So they jell and produce good results. But at national team level, everything is harried

even overlooking his behavior yesterday, he has not played a match for us that we can point out as even average. Man has been atrocious ever since his debut dropping 4/10 performances every single time.
He concentrates too much on himself to care enough about his performances. So not surprising that his performance has been awful.

I think the awards should go ahead. Yes our national teams have been a disappoint but that doesn't mean individual players haven't excelled this year. National team football shouldn't be the sole determinant of how well our players have done.

I believe the awards is a growing brand that needs to be nurtured to become a significant voice of all things Nigerian football and it's consistency that will help keep in it in front view of soccer watchers so I would suggest we go ahead.

Kudos to you for putting yourself out there to help keep the awards going.
