3 years ago DC films with big characters like Superman, Batman couldn't even earn a billion but now since 2018 DC films earns billions effortlessly.

I expect the streak to continue this year with Wonder Woman, Batman or Black Adam next year and Aquaman 2..

Black Adam will do very well, there is nothing to worry about.

But from now on WB should stop producing films that no one asked for.
I have looked at DCEU slate from Man Of Steel to BOP.

BOP is the only DC film that has no business being in existence, no one asked for it, doesn't push the DCEU forward and only there to add to Harley Quinn story.

Another major reason for BOP box office travails is the fact that it is R rated...
BOP had no business being R rated...freaking Suicide Squad was PG13 and it earned $700m....if you take away the teenagers that went to see the film, you would be looking at only $400m.
So yes PG13 is an advantage, not every film can try R rated and do well. Birds of Prey is suffering now cuz many young DC fans can't see the film.

I hate to admit it but hulk616 was right

Moving forward, a spin-off like Gotham City Sirens (if it ever happens) should stick with PG13.

Female centric comic book films struggle to take off at box office....only a handful has managed to break the glass ceiling.

Looking forward to the future of DCEU.

I was wrong about Dwayne Johnson.

That bastard needs to be stopped.

The werey was hyping this movie as his passion project.

If this is what his passion project looks like, I don't want to know what he has in store in the future.

The man is not a producer and should not have creative control over any DC character.

I have no interest in a Black Adam 2.

We don't need "Venom films" in James Gunn's DCU.

My prayer is that Shazam 2 will out gross Black Adam.

If it does, WBD will make a third Shazam film which is the perfect opportunity to use Black Adam as a villain that he's supposed to be and get his ass handed to him by Billy fvcking Batson.

And hopefully, kill him off so I won't have to see his stupid face again.

I made this comment before Coronavirus became a full blown pandemic.

COVID-19 changed everything, every fvcking thing.

Wonder Woman 1984 was released simultaneously on HBO Max and in theaters in December 2020, in the very peak of COVID-19.

The Batman could have easily made $800m if HBO Max didn't limit his potential.

COVID-19 is still a factor in 2022. It significantly changed how often people go to theaters till date.

The MCU is also feeling it, none of their movies are hitting a billion this year. Even a sequel to a billion dollar movie will be lucky to pass Doctor Strange 2.

Right now, unless your comic book movie promises to be as big as No Way Home and releasing in an extended holiday period like Christmas with nostalgia bait and everything....no billion for you.

I was wrong about Black Adam.

I thought it would be an epic blockbuster but it turned out to be a complete garbage.

Aquaman 2 is releasing on Christmas day 2023.
If it gets a China release date around that holiday period, it's definitely making a billion.

Yeah he has multi movie deal with his Rampage movie prepping for sequel. Doesn't necessarily mean Baba will get more solos in DCU.

I just pray make Shazam 2 get $450mn then there's hardly any reason to give Black Adam a sequel. Especially loosing out on critics and audience love as well as barely breaking even. No point continuing on such headless endeavour.
That huge as$ budget can be used to produce other projects. Heck, that $200mn go get us a Zatanna/ Constantine movie and a Lobo film for $100mn apiece.

The director and the screenplay writer needs to be changed before anything BA 2 is considered. I still dey wonder how WB chose an unproven director for such a huge investment in a movie and an unpopular character at that.

the problem with that is do u think Dwayne Johnson will allow that? But u need to admit justice society looked good, I'm eager to see more of them.

The problem with black adam was a bad story, weak villain and bad acting from that boy, Freddy freeman in Shazam was charming, a better actor who made Shazam a better movie. I just saw black adam last night again, it's an action driven movie and not story driven. O boy! The visuals were nice in HD.

The story wasn't bad per se but the screenplay that's where the issue comes from and subpar acting. It's got really nice visuals no doubt.

Well, I heard a rumor him and Gunn might duke it out going forward for how the Shazam universe will turn out. You know Dwayne is one stubborn individual. Let's wait and see.
