Just watched this and i must say that its different from the house hunting clips i have watched before.

The back and forth, calls, emails is crazy.

She must have enough money to have rented an unfurnished apartment o. the apartments she viewed all looked really new and fine sha.

Thanks for the clip
Yeah, it truly is different. No sugarcoating at all, pure reality of things. I think furnished apartments are more expensive and yeah, most of the apartments she viewed seem relatively new. That credit history/score is really important for many things there.

Don't mention bro.

Please with regards to upfront medicals, I did mine few days ago and I'm a bit confused, the sheet to upload is it the one the medical personnels told me it would take two to five days to upload and they will also send a copy to my email or is it the sheet that was given to me after the medicals registration before I proceeded to carry out the medical assessment?

IOM will give you a print out titled e-medical sheet with your assessment details on it, that's the one to upload.

Your assessment result will be sent to IRCC directly within 5 working days and may not be sent to your email except you request for it. That's not the one to upload

Hello,

Canada living expenses is what is still keeping me in Nigeria, your house rent alone is roughly 400k (a minimum of $600 CAD) a month, and note you're not allowed to work until you have your enrolment letter except if you are working remotely. since my resumption is still May. i want to chill small for this country small...

Please chop naija food well ooo before u japa

kennyjoy:

We've talked about it several times here! It is not illegal or offensive to arrive before your start date, but you must have a genuine reason if questioned by a CBSA officer about why you arrived so early.

Another factor is your living expenses. Let me tell you something, once you cross the border into Canada, bills await you, REMEMBER you will start spending $ not naira again ooo, and you can't start working until your school resumes. So one month before resumption is still ideal, and you can settle in within that time frame. If you have huge POF & living expenses (money), well, that’s won’t be a problem.

I just relaxed since, didn't know that's the one to upload. I think it's preferable to upload it within the week days, what do you think?

Hi all, pls is there a place to confirm the authenticity of a school one is trying to apply to?

e.g. royalroads university.

You can upload any time, but weekdays and targeting when it will be 8am in Nairobi will be best so your mail/webform will be seen timely.

Don't forget to send it at least 3 times and not once. Don't give room for *we did not see it*.

All Canadian universities/colleges are on IRCC. There you can verify the school and confirm if it's a DLI before you apply to them.

I also got a generic response like this once, but I kept sending emails and webforms

Here's a sample;

Subject: URGENT| STUDY PERMIT APPLICATION

Hello Visa Officer,

I appreciate your effort towards my application. However, since my medical examination was passed, I haven't received any update regarding my application for more than a month now which has become of great worry to me.

My classes will be resuming very soon and as an international student it is advisable to arrive before the start of class in order to get settled in and prepare adequately for the semester ahead most especially this forthcoming winter semester.

Please I would really appreciate a timely response on my application so as to finalize my travel plans, thank you.

Applicant info;
UCI:
APPLICATION NUMBER:
Best Regards,
.......

I tweak my words sometimes though so it doesn't feel too repetitive. Hope this helps, goodluck.

HopefulSuccess:
@Teeebabyyy, @Johnstan, @Thomysne

Could you please share the email format you forwarded to IRCC requesting your application status. This will be really helpful because my application has passed the processing time. I have tried sending emails but I keep getting generic response.

This was a response I got after sending webform.

Please if you send anything through webform, say new letter of admission or update financial documents, will it reflect on your portal for you to know they have seen it?

Probably, The instruction after the test is usually to forward the e-medical sheet but there's no harm in sending the patients copy of the results sha.

No na, the things that reflect on your portal for you to see are your medicals, biometrics, eligibility review etc you know that timeline of different stages.
Letter of admission and financial docs don't reflect on your portal. They might reply you to let you know that they have received them or they will not that's why you don't forward a document once.

Exactly no harm, I initially was sending the patient’s copy via webform, but when the result was out, I started sending it.

Hello Fam, been a while how is everyone doing? To all PPR hopefuls keep hopes alive it will come and it will be worth the wait.
@frankrobben1, vibrant99, frank and all the galant gurus. My sister currently got admission to seneca college to study chain supply management coop, now i have two questions. I am currently rounding up my masters program at mcgill and my family already joined me. Is it adviseable i sponsor her by using my account statement or i just pay her 1st term tuition? She is an agriculturist but have worked in a logistics and shipping company for 3years and is the manager of a branch. The school is requesting for 8k cad for her to reserve her seat and it will lapse on december 9th.
Also do they refund in case of visa denial becos she already mailed them but no response

Check the terms and conditions, that's why IRCC say u should always protect your UCI and application number as anyone with it can access your information.
Webform didn't also stipulate you input your registered email. Any mail u use as long as you have access to UCI and application number will be replied by IRCC
johnstan:

You can't send mails to IRCC with just any random email, it has to be with your registered email on your application.
Webform will also ask you to input your registered email in one of the columns before you submit, you cannot just input any email.

Hello guys, please I have a question.

A brother is going for a PhD program at one University in Canada.

He got a funding of $19,921 CAD.

He will pay the sum of $7k+ for tuition and $2k for all other expenses.
In short, all the school expenses including small small money is $9,800 CAD/year.

This implies that he would be left with $10k+ yearly.

The question is; does he still need to present a bank statement? If yes, how much?

Thank you very much.

Bro, I don't think so, I have a friend who is Canada since May 2022 and he is for September 2022 intake. The only issue is that the immigration officer might ask why you're coming early. Also, they might want to ask a few questions, but most times they don't ask. I plan to enter early too.

One thing we need to know is this, Canadian govt needs our money - my guy said he heard that they call international students cashing cows grin

I have also asked some experienced travel agents such as wakadoctor and co, and they said you can enter anytime you want so far you have your visa. Visa is key and also your money (that's one reason the immigration officer will be particular about)

my advice for anyone who has their visa ahead of resumption is to try and pay for another semester now. But note that, you can't work without your school enrolment letter.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/prepare-arrival.html

If my statement sounds rude or offensive, please pardon my manner because tomorrow is Sunday.

But can the spouse of the student who has Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP) start working immidietly they get to Canada despite that the student is yet to get enrollment letter?
