Truth be told, it's only God that can help us now. Imagine that this is just from the 13% derivative and they still get the monthly allocation. If good governance existed in this country, all the South South states should be best cities in infrastructures and good amenities.
To think that Bayelsa and Delta got such an amount and yet they were soliciting for funds recently when flood came without any prior work on infrastructures tells it all.

During Obasanjo’s tenure Okonjo Iweala was on top of her voice daily telling Nigerians to hold their state governors accountable and stop expecting federal government to help them. So much funds are being sent to the states so that the governors can use it to impact on the lives of Nigerians right from the states and grassroots instead the governors pocketed these funds, capitalized on the peoples ignorance and claimed poverty. The state governors are the major marketers of poverty in the country. They live like emperors while the people suffer in abject wants. All the governors are mostly richer than the president at any given time even after leaving office. The framers of our constitution made it simple for the citizens to live in comfort by making it a constitutional obligation for the president to disburse monthly allocations to the state plus 13% derivation as extra to the oil producing state. Failure by any president to do this is tantamount to an impeachable offense. This is one of the main and cardinal job of the president which none has failed to perform but the governors defrauded the people. Without the money sent to the states being used to better the lives of the people Nigeria poverty rating will keep skyrocketing government after government.

FG owes states several funds due to them from time to time, ecological funds, Paris loan refund, Tetfunds, etc. And if you still believe FG doesn't owe states, then I must have been talking to a secondary school kid.

What was done with the 44bn? What significant project was done in Delta state with the amount accessed.

The governors of the south south region past and present have questions to answer for the regions under development.

The sooner the foolish inhabitants of the region realize this the better for them. Forgive my sarcasm but its foolish to blame another region for your underdevelopment when your governors, past and present have been getting federal allocations plus 13% derivation (which other regions dont get) and their was no restriction on spending the money on the governments.
