Lamika24: Aii. I have seen someone here with SOP of one page, I think its the thread before this current thread and he was approved while someone with SOP of 5 pages with several hyperlinks init got rejected so the length isn't a determinant but the content. I'm not certain the content of yours but if you are confident that it was not compelling then I'm sure you must be right about that. Someone here too have gotten PPR without paying tuition deposits, if I remember, they explained that it was not compulsory by the school to do that, so not paying though a risky move is not a certain refusal determinant - they showed good POF tho. Some days ago someone got PPR with a fixed deposit account as POF. In the previous thread a 45yrs old individual got PPR at the second attempt so you can imagine the length of study gap there. In all its your SOP that can make or break the application and you are certain you did not do a good job with it. In the previous thread ( I'm mentioning this a lot cos that's where I joined and migrated to this current thread) someone had a long processing time like yours, orderd his gcms notes only to realise that he had been refused several months before his request for his notes so request for yours and be certain of the situation before you act (withdraw the application). You are also right, you will need a dollar card to order the notes not a naira card. Good luck 3 Likes |

Ishola2002: Tho not an advice from a visa officer as we don't have visa officers here, Your best option is application to further your studies based on your under grad qualification or your current working experience. Your undergrad is computer science so you're off on a good start, however, because you do not have working Experience in your previous degree but with your brother's business and also considering the study gap, ensure to explain in your SOP why you chose your current course, the benefits you stand to gain from studying the course etc... If it will benefit your brothers business don't forget to mention that as well and you will be fine. Good luck. 1 Like |

toyin03: True, Application fees can be expensive. The easy admission stories you read are majorly to colleges/universities for PGD, PGC studies. I'm guessing you intend to go for masters cos of your good GPA, however, masters is not an easy program to get into considering the tough competition and requirements. Now the trick I learned is to apply for intakes ahead of the current intake, for instance, winter studies resume in Jan so the next intake is in May, the intake following that is September. Now applying for may Intake is still fine, however, that's the one everyone will be applying for at the moment and that automatically makes it competitive but if you apply for September intake with less rush, the admission will get to you with 3-4 weeks. (I applied for Jan 2023 intake in April 2022 when everyone was advising me to go for September 2022 intake and the admission got to me within 3 weeks) Mpower loan is fine, but ensure your also have funds of your own to show as POF. Good luck. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Seems like a good reason to want to transit to IT, also the fact that IT professionals in naija are well sought after and so many jobs are waiting for them. Put it in your own words though. Wish u all the best Ishola2002: 3 Likes |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by johnstan(m): 12:56pm On Nov 22, 2022 |
Ishola2002: That can come as a secondary reason. First highlight your love for the career, the things you may have done with IT in the past, any thing that kinda affects your ability to explore the career to your full capacity in Nigeria and driving you to pursue the career in Canada, you understand. After this you can highlight how it will positively impact you in terms of your career growth, your brother's business and then Nigeria as a whole. Hope you understand. 2 Likes |

johnstan: Passports submitted in their Lagos office are sent to Abuja for stamping, that's why it takes more time. Most times people don't mind paying the transmission fee and send it straight to Abuja. 1 Like |

Debt to the crown becuase the agent recalled my visa fees. I paid it myself later though. But application has been pending since then. CharitoJames: |

PPR Alert! 2nd time applicant. 1st application was denied based on financial assets. I was very disappointed as I thought my profile and financial history was good enough to get PPR. My guru @Makano advised we order for GCMS and quickly re-fire. So we ordered for the notes, it came back and we gathered that the VO had issues with lump sum on my account statements. So we quickly adjusted my SOP and provided explanations plus verifiable receipts for the lump sum, and reapplied again. As God may have it, application was approved. My Timeline; Sep 18th - Application submitted (Biometrics was done on the 22nd of April, 2022 so it updated) Nov 15th- Eligibility Review Nov 16th- Medical updated to passed (I did upfront medicals on the 21st of April, 2022) Nov 16th- PPR I attached below documents • Letter of Acceptance. • Academic and Professional certificates. • Academic Transcript. • NYSC certificate. • Birth Certificate • Police clearance certificate • Bio-data page of International Passport • Drivers' license. • NIN slip. • Updated CV • Staff ID Card. • Letter of Introduction from my employer. • Promotion letter. • Pay slip CLIENT INFORMATION • Land Documents (Receipts, Sales Contract, Deed of Assignment, Survey plan) • Particulars for 2 cars. • Siblings Birth Certificate and Photos • CAC document for registered company. PROOF OF MEANS OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT • SOP (6 pages). • Statement of account (Individual and Company) above 20m. • Salary account Statement. • Documents showing business presence in Nigeria. Big shout to all the guys doing great work out here and special shout out to @makano for being my guide all through the rainy days. And of course to the hopefuls, y'all will share your own good news on this very thread. Remain blessed! 27 Likes |

Yes, I did. I told a version of the truth and how the CBN had a policy that made us unable to use our naira cards for foreign payments. So I was forced to contract the payment to someone else. And when the first recall happened, I trusted that it was a bank glitch and I found out later of his dubiousness. And I have since had to get a premium card which costed me about 90k to pay the money myself. I also mentioned the emotional and health pressure it has put on me and my family. (To be fair, my mum had HBP, call me a bad daughter for capitalizing on it for my application but I had to say everything to gather empathy) I told them how I am a law-abiding citizen and I had a police good character report and I would never violate the law. Things like that sha. I wrote it but in legal terms sha. I did not mention that I used an agent for my application because in my application, I didn't mention that I used an agent when I was asked.
