In a literal term....She defined "recharge"...

You can link the term Recharge to the methodology of the marine experts to bring in another definition...

But you don't go about calling people stupid when you have given an impression that you're a BA LA BLU.

It’s gonna be a very expensive venture trying to recharge the Lake Chad. First, pipes will be laid from Atlantic to Lake Chad with powerful pumps to push the water up north into the basin. Desalination machines and tools will need to be put in place also to rid the inbound water of sea salt as Lake chad is a freshwater lake. These are no small feat, they do not come cheap and are not something that can be done in less than a year. Such project takes time and are usually divided into phases.

The language is correct but the truth is that Bulaba doesn't even understand what it entails and how it can be done.

"Recharging Lake Chad" may be true by Tinubu, but it will be a costly venture to undertake given the financial crunch Nigeria is facing now.

Ignore what the drug dealer said. What is our business with lake Chad? How would that improve the economy and reduce the price of things in the market? Tinubu didn't know what he was saying when he used the phrase recharge. The man is too daft hence he reason he usually says incoherent things always.

The word recharge can only be used in the opposite.
There is something called Groundwater Recharge where the lake is supposed to leak to farmlands and soils around the locality.

Natural recharge also can occur as surface-water leakage from rivers, streams, lakes, and wetlands to regions of low concentrations.

Another option is to divert a river to the Lake Chad. So which River is Bulaba planning to divert into the Lake Chad?

Another option is to start planting vegetative covers and trees to minimize evaporation and aid cooling of the environment around the region. But it’s long term and the recovery process will be slow.

Are you aware the increase in banditry tallies with the inability of people to cultivate or breed livestock due to the shrinking of Lake Chad?

Millions of people have fled the Lake Chad region for pastures anew leading to restiveness between farmers and herders?

Are you aware having more beef and fish reduces the cost of similar and alternate food types?

If Obi had said this about Lake Chad, you would have been here asking he be awarded the Nobel Peace prize.

What you're talking about is a preventive measure. More than 70% of the Lake Chad has dried up already. What is needed is a fresh injection of water to recharge the lake.

I’m a water quality expat (MSc Environmental Management) and I know what you’re talking about. I also know what I am talking about. It’s the fastest means to replenishing the lake.

There are fresh water sources such as rivers which are close by, their course can be altered and thus made to flow into the Lake Chad.

The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC), a regional body that regulates the use of the basin’s water and other natural resources, maintain that inefficient damming and irrigation methods on the part of the countries bordering the lake are partly responsible for its shrinkage. Emmanuel Asuquo-Obot of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), an organization devoted to wildlife conservation, points to the diversion of water from the Chari River to irrigation projects and dams along the Jama’are and Hadejia Rivers in northeastern Nigeria.

Replenishment plans

The commission’s member countries have plans to replenish the lake by building a dam and 60 miles of canals to pump water uphill from the Congo River to the Chari River and then on to Lake Chad. The replenishment project “will be the first of its kind in Africa,” says Martin Gbafolo, the LCBC’s director of water resources and environment. The commission has raised more than $5 million for a feasibility study. Although the total cost of the project will not be known until the study is completed, experts like Professor Mohammed expect it will take a huge injection of funds to save the lake.

The uploaded image is from the Lake Chad from 1973 and recently. You can observe that the water has dried up in more than 70% of the entire lake leaving only vast vegetation of dry land without water.

In order to save the lake from drying up completely, you have to recharge. The process of recharging entails refilling up the lake again with water. To achieve that you need to channel water from another source into the Lake. This can be achieved by pumping water from an ocean or diverting a nearby river into the Lake. Either way, it is not an easy or cheap process.

Please note that the Lake Chad is more than the size of the entire South East. We're not talking about a small portion of land.

I hope this gives you a little insight into what recharging the Lake Chad is all about.
