Don't say that. We are here to learn. I was just trying to point out that you can find quality from low leagues. The likes of Mane, Haaland, and Vardy were not harvested in the top leagues. They were spotted outside the quality leagues.

We should not just hinge our radar on top leagues when we have a chance of spotting quality talents with a more comprehensive scouting strategy.

Footballing upsets is one of the proof that you can find talents from lower spots.
No doubt you are right sir, of course that is so true, another example is the Kvara dude playing with Napoli. But what some of us are saying is that data gathering as Mr. Zuchini was trying to do should never be one sided or biased.

African teams are yet to score at the ongoing WC. Hopefully that will change soon. I suspect Ghana may break the trend even though they will lose to Portugal.

Cameroun plays first tomorrow but I'm not so confident in them doing so but then, they also could if things click in the final third for them.

Meanwhile, The North African teams have played with bonafide purpose and true tactical understanding. Kudos to Tunisia and especially my 2nd Favourite African side, The Atlas Lions of Morocco. Well done lads although 20 y/o Elzzalzouli showed his inexperienced in attacking transitions. Talented but decision making still needs lots of work.

Icon79, it seems it is the North African teams who you tagged sissies that are playing the better football and getting decent results among African sides so far.

Up next Tomorrow: Cameroun vs Switzerland AND Ghana vs Portugal.

This world cup presents an opportunity for CAF to make a legitimate claim for the more slots in the expanded 2026 mundial.

These Mahgreb teams are doing better than expected probably because Qatar feels like home.

I don't understand your point. We just saw minnows like Australia have a go at one of the best sides in the game. I made my comment before Australia scored. Watching the ball finish and commenting is easy. I am talking about philosophy and play.

Australia's problem has to do with stamina. They ran out of steam in the first half and could not press. Then the French outran them. Now the coach of Australia needs to work on pressing stamina and build from there.

While us, we park the bus. There is no room for growth. So I know why I commented. If you know about me, it is not about the results. That is why it is not about "watch the ball finish".

You look at things with rose tinted glasses and overly optimistic your too subjective not objective.

Australia had zero pace compared to France on the physicality side they were left in the dark. Add to that technical ability, and far better players.

France didn't get out of fitst gear it was a training session for them. Meanwhile Australia parked the bus and just were completely out of their depth.

You are completely misleading with your view I cannot even call it analysis.

Ejuke is more direct. I will prefer lookman or Awoniyi to play Aribo's position.

Tella can come on at halftime for Ejuke. But since his young NFF won't even invite him.. I see him as a succession plan so for me he has to be invited as soon as possible and given game time of at least 30 - 90 mins per match

Ejuke is not more direct he is is the quintessential African player, steeped in entertainment football lots of unnecessary dribbling and limited end product.

Nathan Tella and Ademola Lookman are way ahead of him. The same thing affects Chukwueze to some degree.

Ejuke I hope has learned in the Bundisliga that defence is as important as attack and puts in a good level of defensive contribution.

Nigeria would have been respecting modric in the midfield as per senior man wey him be

Morocco midfielders give Modric and kovacic hot hot

If they have a striker like osimhen ,they would have won Croatia

Ejuke is not steeped in entertainment football.. he creates chances and assists and that's what S.E needs on the wings especially the LW.. Tella and Lookman are not ahead of him.. Lookman turned to a ghost against Portugal... Tella hasn't played for the S.E yet so I can't judge him...

if Chukwueze was affected by such then he may have scored against Portugal because all he had to do when he was one on one apart from shoot was move the ball to his left or do a feint and dribble the keeper and score or lob the keeper...

Dear NFF Caretakers:

I implore all of you to watch the Croatia vs Morocco match.

Please pay particular attention to Morocco in the 1st half and focus on how they held the midfield hostage!

18': Australia defending in a 4-4-2 shape when out of possession, the Aussies have been brilliant thus far. France are picking up the pace.

You can see, France was picking up after receiving some brilliant plays from the Aussies. Those minutes are worth watching again.

Bros I reject any initial gra gra football for super eagle's... they just started by flexing muscles they couldn't uphold...it's peculiar with underdog teams playing against giants ....they start by firing on all cylinders then later fizzle out with time

I actually think it played out with the Coach of the Aussies reading the game plan of France and attacking it. However, a switch in tactics and also loss of stamina played a part in the dismantling. The Aussies did not just play but we're better in tactics and strategy.

The point is that an Underdog can pull up a good show and even beat top teams.

It was not a training session stuff. The French team were totally outclassed and the press of the Aussies took away their build up play. It took some reorganization and also the Aussies losing steam to crush them.

He French never planned or expected to be outclassed and go down a goal in such manner. On the whole, it shows a top side with better organization and tactics can plug holes in the French team.

You can attack the point without attacking the person.

Why my point is that, does the idea of biased data play a role in this case?

The point is, you can find gems in poor leagues. And, these matches show that small teams can produce quality players to cause upsets.

So telling us that a top side beat a poor side does not defeat the argument.

That is like me saying you can find some quality players in the Championship and then another saying it is biased because there are many players not up to top quality in the Championship.

I totally disagree with the notion of brilliant play not sinking down with Nigerian fans. Maybe the new age fans but historically, we are known for playing good football.

When you think of players like Mobi Oparakwu, Celestine Babayaro, Finidi George, Sunday Oliseh, Kanu Nwankwo, Jay Jay Okocha in a starting eleven. These players played with intelligence and flair. We for a long time played with intelligence and bravery. Sometimes I wonder how this negative play crept into our football.

The likes of Taribo, Finidi, Peter Rufai for instance played under a master possession tactician at young age and the Sharks Stadium then used to be jam packed with thrilled fans.

Very well but they also lack that quality forward who would have helped them get past the Croats.

I disagree on the Tunisia beating Croatia bit. If they struggled against a Denmark team that even Ghana defeated I doubt they would have done anything.

That is the problem. The way we destroyed our league is the greatest problem of Nigerian football.
Amaju pinnick actually destroyed the Nigerian league so when he was campaigning for local players in the national team he was not been sincere.
We need to develop the npfl again
