Hello my NL people

The gurus in the house please I will love to ask some questions and get the answers.

At the port is of entry in Canada will I need to tender my statement of Acc which I used for my application and my sponsor own? Because the money in my account is no more there again . Will that be a problem when getting there?

Can anyone put me through the kind of questions they ask when getting to the port of entry .
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by HopefulSuccess: 10:09am On Nov 23, 2022
Someone should please help answer this
Thanks in advance

Please, how do one fill this form.
Anyone who know how to go about it should please help.
The designated individual section already has a name on it. Do I fill or leave the section 2 blank as it is or do I feel both section 2 and 3 with my name and details?

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Pinkygirly(f): 10:40am On Nov 23, 2022
Good morning @Frankrobbn1,

I did not use Mpower loan for my application because I have my eldest brother in the UK as my sponsor.

Pinkygirly:
Good morning @frankrobbn1,

I was refused the first time due to purpose of visit which I tackled then I was refused for this October for the second time due to assets and finance.

I applied to Crandall University for Master of Management (2yrs course), I paid one year tuition, had 2.4m in my personal account and my elder brother in the UK who is a pharmacist is my sponsor who paid the first year tuition and had around 40k pounds in his UK account and about 19m in his naira.

I'm about to reapply next month and I want to increase the money in the money to 5m through a gift deed from my immediate elder brother. I want also add my sponsor's landed property in Lagos & Abuja to my application. I used my 3 siblings in Nigeria, including mu nieces and nephews and my inheritance as hometies.

Please what will you advise?

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Pinkygirly(f): 10:50am On Nov 23, 2022
Yes and i already applied for my gcms note but i'm yet to get it.

HEADYWORLD:

You mean you are rejected after your sponsor present all the account statements and paying first year fee??
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Pinkygirly(f): 10:54am On Nov 23, 2022
Thank you, i appreciate.

joefit4gur:

After tuition, I think you need to have these in your account, not your sponsor's account:
Living expenses: 10K CAD
Flight: N2M
Misc: 2M

So let's say total about: 7M Naira should be in your own account.

I don't think you should withdraw your application now. I applied on March 9th and got my PPR on October 20th. DejiiiiB, keep believing! Some few tips to stimulating a decision on your application (given that it has been long you applied):

1. Send emails to Abuja, Lagos, Nairobi, London, and Beijing offices. Sometimes, these offices push your email to Nairobi...Note, these offices would tell you that your files are in Nairobi but some may still send a reminder to Nairobi from their end. it happened to me when Nairobi replied to a mail I had sent to Beijing. Also, Abuja gave me a special link to a new webform site that has quick response and also gave a short and direct reply to one of my mails. They said "Nairobi would reach out to you once they've finalize your application". I got my PPR in 40days time. This may add weight to reminding Nairobi office.

2. You could use the subject of your mail as [URGENT] Request for Update on my Study Permit Application

or use

[URGENT] Request for Expediting the Processing of my Study Permit Application. If this, then request for urgent processing of your application because it is more than 8months and you don't have online options after January 2023.

3. In your mail, state that you do not have online options from January. Bolden this sentence in your mail, also bolden that it has been 8 months since you submitted your application. This makes their eyes go to the main points of your mail quickly.

4. Add that the delay is disrupting your academic and career plans. Be a little emotional e.g. state that it is affecting you mentally.

5. Schedule your mail to be sent 8am in the local time of the office. E.g. Nairobi is 2hrs ahead of us. So, schedule your mail to be sent 6am WAT. This could make it among the first mail that pops up as they resume work. Plus the [URGENT] in your mail subject could trigger them to read it. Only use [URGENT] keyword in the mail subject if it is really urgent, else it could be seen as false alarm and may not be good for you (I saw this in their website). Well, your case can be considered to be urgent.

6. Apply for GCMS notes. If you have, what does the Assessment section says? If you have and it hasn't been delivered for more than 45days, start sending the GCMS agent mails once every week. They would send IRCC reminder mail...I did this.

7. We can only do much, if you are a Christian, I recommend you fast and pray.

All the best, These tips are not absolute but I am confident you will receive a decision soon.

Thank so much for the faith you just install in me right now, because I won’t lie to you this delay is causing lot of depression.

Someone on this platform posted a new Nairobi webform recently and immediately I sent my e-medical sheet in the morning through the webform they updated my medical 2hrs later, but it was stated that you can only submit a form once.

Have been sending them mails back to back.

I have sent them webform also concern my application and they said they will get back to me on it, so I’m still waiting on their positive feedback.

I already ordered for GCMS Notes, but it still 25days

I hope to celebrate with you soon boss

I believe a decision would be made soon

I have that feeling .

Lamika24:
What would you advise seeing as gcms takes over a month to respond and my UK school resumes in January?

Should I request the notes while I move on to the UK? If yes, do I have to mention it in my application and how?

Or I should not apply to the UK till I get the notes

There two things you can do, wait till you get your notes to confirm the status of your application and save the cost of moving to the UK and resuming classes, paying tuition and all
OR
Order your notes just to be certain about the status of your application, move to the UK and resume your classes, pay tuition and all.

You can't have both so you gotta choose one.
What are the chances the application is still being reviewed considering the delayed response and your not so compelling SOP.
What if it is still being reviewed and a positive feedback comes out of it.
If you have time then go for option 1, if you do not have time then go for option 2, this is where you make your choice.

Good luck

Dear Nairalanders. I applied for study permit for september 2022 intake which obviously has passed without getting a decision from IRCC . But today I got an email from IRCC to submit a copy of my new travelling document (Passport) and an updated study plan if any , via email to the embassy handling my application within 1 month from today.
N.b the passport I used in applying for the study permit will be expiring by march next year. But I have already renewed it. My question is what do they mean by " any updated study plan". Is it a new letter of acceptance or what could they want?
Any input would be appreciated guys.

Hello people. I would be glad if I can get answer(s) to my questions

Hubby and I are still in the decision making process, but I would like to please have clarification in some areas.

I understand from the thread that it's better for a spouse to apply for the study visa alone and invite his/her partner when he or she gets there.

My questions are:

1) Would pregnancy hinder the chances of me getting a visa if hubby gets the ppr, then invites me over ?
If yes, would it be a wise decision to delay pregnancy because of this.. Please note that we already have a child, and just want to start trying for another one.

2) How soon can he invite me over from the moment he gets there?

DOCUMENTS UPLOADED (other than IMM forms)
For the various sections where we are required to upload documents on the IRCC portal (e.g. LOA, Marriage License), I started with an Introduction, followed by Table of Contents.
The Table of Contents have hyperlinks to the respective documents attached. I also included hyperlinks to take the VO from the attached documents back to the Table of Contents.

Please note, some of the documents I attached are unnecessary e.g. COVID-19 vaccination card.

LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE
• Letter of Acceptance.
• IELTS result.
• Academic and Professional certificates.
• Academic Transcript.
• WES evaluation report.
• NYSC certificate.
• Evidence of Previous investments which had been liquidated (Education Plan for me and the kids, Shares that have been sold, Monthly Savings Plan with an Insurance Company, Investments with some Investment Firms). I stated that the proceeds were invested in other ventures and form a bedrock of funds being used for my studies in Canada.

PASSPORT
• Bio-data page of International Passport
• Affidavit (in lieu of birth certificate)
• Drivers' license.
• NIN slip.
• Updated CV (Nigerian style).
• Staff ID Card.
• Letter of Introduction from my employer.
• Study leave approval from my employer.
• Introduction letter from my local Church.
• Letter of Ordination from my Church.

MARRIAGE LICENSE/CERTIFICATE
• Marriage Certificates (Church and Court).
• Name change publication for spouse.
• Birth certificates for the kids.
• Over 50 pictures (during courtship, during wedding, during the christening of our kids, pictures with spouse at a volunteering event, family photographs). I cropped the pictures and put an average of 3 pictures on each page. Also, I sequenced the pictures such that they tell our family story from inception.

CLIENT INFORMATION
Here, I included a background that the property owned by my spouse would be included under her application for OWP. Then, included a Table of contents and attached the following documents, which could not be added in other sections due to file size constraint.
• Land Documents (Receipts, Sales Contract, Deed of Assignment, Survey, Advert showing an increase in the price of the land)
• Documents for 2 cars.
• Mum's International passport. (I showed her visa page and some travel stamps, since me I no get travel history).
• Affidavit/Birth certificates for some of my siblings.
• CSCS Statements for Stock/shares inherited from my late dad who died over 20 years ago. (The shares are still in my dad’s name. I explained that my family intends to obtain a Letter of Administration and these shares will be captured therein).
• My picture with my CEO and an EXCO member at an official outing.
• Training Certificates.

PROOF OF MEANS OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT
• SOP (9 pages). I tried to reduce it but my story long.
• Documents relating to the Payment of 50% initial deposit ($17,900 CAD).
• Documents relating to my current employment (employment letter, confirmation, promotion and 4 months’ Pay slips).
• Evidence of Available/Dedicated Fund:

I provided Explanatory Notes on 3 bank accounts.
1. My salary account (where I deposited our naira POF)
2. My USD account (where we deposited our dollar POF)
3. My spouse’s salary account (Here, I just stated that this is her salary account).

Under each of the account, I explained salient points such as lump sums that I wanted the VO to be aware of and included relevant support documents e.g. bonus letter from my employer.
For my naira account and my wife’s salary account, I provided bank statements for exactly 4 months but for the USD account, I provided statement for 1 year because it was just a 2-page document and I wanted to convince the VO that the account was legit even though I had only a few transactions on it.

Asides these, I included an addendum account which belongs to my spouse.
We created and liquidated several Fixed Deposit investments in that account and sizable part of our POF came from this addendum account.
Asides the bank Reference letter, I also included the account statement because I felt it would better convince the VO. The account had a rather unusually high transaction volume in 4 months and a balance of just N500k.
I carefully explained the meaning of some terminologies used on the account statement too e.g. FD booking.

• Letter of Introduction from my Pension Fund Administrator.
• Investment Certificate and account statement from an investment company for an existing investment (the letter clearly states that my wife and I have an unrestricted access to the funds).
• Deed of Partition and evidence of rental income on the property inherited from my late date

I included several hyperlinks on my SOP, my wife’s SOP and the cover letters for the kids. For instance, where I mentioned key words such as “Institute of Chartered Accountants”, Pension Reforms Act, 2014 etc., I ensured that they were modified to be hyperlinks, which would take the VO to the respective websites. I did this so it is easy for the VO for confirm the various terminologies/claims/entities independently.

My spouse and I have no travel history. Therefore, I stated in my SOP that we have been saving consciously towards my studies overseas, so we denied ourselves several luxuries such as travelling on vacations.

Just to mention, asides the funds that were available in bank and investment accounts, I stated that I would be saving specific amount towards my masters program from my subsequent salaries and 13th month allowance.
And that in the period, my family will depend on my wife’s salary and the balance from my own salary (I had previously established the fact that my wife and I save and invest together. Moreover, all my salary and allowances go straight into her account based on my bank statement history).

Congratulations!
