Hello, Does anyone know about any health insurance company that's a bit comprehensive (NOT travel insurance) and pocket-friendly? I'm looking at International Healthcare Company, especially the Flexmed Global Impat Tariff option (starts @ €189/month and Continentale Krankenversicherung a.G. (€190/month). Has anyone used any of these before? |

justt: Depends on where you are domiciled, age, coverage type, family size. Are you in Germany? |

MrAAA2: I need it for a stay in Germany next year. I'm currently in Nigeria. For now, it will be for me alone, later my spouse will join and we are both 41. I already indicated that it should be a bit comprehensive. I actually thought I could get one between €100 -150. |

justt: You should only worry about yours for now, you can add your family when they arrive Germany. You have an option of public/statutory health insurance as a VOLUNTARILY INSURED person but pays up to 200 EUR (TK, AOK, DAK, BARMER). If you have a fairly good health condition without any preexisting or risk ailment that you may require regular health care, a Private health insurance will be sufficient for a start. Mawista is the most popular among STUDENTS over 30 years. There are different coverage levels, however, as in every Private health insurance policy, when you visit the doctor, you will need to pay with your money, then you send the bill/invoice to your health insurance company for reimbursement. But they will not pay back the full amount; maybe 70-80 percent. The monthly cost for Mawista and offers are on their website. When your wife arrives or you begin a full-time or hazardous job, your kind of insurance may change. |

sparrowg: Sender's name doesn't matter but in case of query on the transfer, the person should be able to submit Statement or proof of funds or relationship, this is very rare. However beneficiary which is the recipient should match the account opening information. E.g Blocked account name: Mr AAA Beneficiary: (has to be) Mr. AAA Sender1: BB C Amount: 5,000 Eur Beneficiary: (has to be) Mr. AAA Sender2: DD B Amount: 6,300 Eur |

Hello everyone, I'm just about to begin my application journey. I will appreciate it if anyone can answer my questions. 1. Is IELTS compulsory? Someone told me I can get a letter from my school stating that I was taught in English? Is it true or will it suffice? 2. I did mass communication for my bachelors. My dream has always been to study international relations for masters degree but I keep seeing that there aren't much opportunities for the course in Germany. I'm thinking of going for a course that is related to my first degree but I'm not sure of the opportunities in Germany. Most people are going for science related courses. Please is there anyone here who is applying for an art course? |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by MrAAA2: 9:08am On Nov 26, 2022 |
missidy: 1. Most schools do not insist on IELTS from graduates taught in English. If proof is required in some cases, maybe a Language of Instruction letter may suffice, however, some still require English Tests, because, unfortunately, many graduates struggle with spoken English. 2. There are opportunities in International Relations just as in many Liberal and Art courses. 1 Like |

Hmmm, the things I'm reading on this thread about visa dates are so discouraging. So me that wants to start applying this December, there is no hope of me starting school September 2023? That means I will loose my admission because of visa date? Na wa. |

missidy: I would advise you go for something in the social sciences or even do another Bsc, in a related field. Most foreign students find it hard getting a job in the art field over there, mostly because of the language. This I heard from others, I have to say. IELTS is not compulsory unless stated by the university. Most universities accept a signed and stamped letter of proficiency stating that you completed your secondary/tertiary education in the English language. 1 Like |

Hmmm, art courses and wahala abroad. I would have loved to go for Human Resources but I don't have experience in it and it isn't related to my first degree. This whole Germany stuff is not easy, no wonder Nigerians prefer UK. deuoessch: 1 Like |

Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by MrAAA2: 6:20pm On Nov 27, 2022 |
sparrowg: Has the Form A account been debited? You can only begin counting days after the initiating NGN account has been debited. After debiting, 3-5 working days for it to be credited to Fintiba and another 3-5 working days for Fintiba to send you a confirmation. It could be shorter anyway. |
