Can one apply fertilizer?
Organic manure is the best to provide the fruit nutrients, however fertilizer can be apply in small amount.
The negative effect of fertilizer is that the sweetness of the fruitis reduced and the pawpaw produced cannot last many days in the market without getting spoiled.
Adding organic manure gives the best taste and the fruit can last several day without getting spoiled and that what the sellers want.

This is applicable to all plants. Fertilizer reduces the sweetness of any fruit/food. 8

I planted some pawpaw trees in my compound, the yield was beyond my expectations, I decided to sell the fruits, keeping the proceeds untouched, at the end, I counted over #50k
Being surprised of the money realized, I decided to make it a bit commercial by adding more trees, I got over #120k.
The above two trials compelled me into Papaya production within the available spaces in my compound, today I make hundreds of thousands every harvesting period.
Note the followings;

1. Pawpaw has a lot of health benefit
2. The demand for it is very high
3. Few people grow the fruit
4. The tree die within 2 to 5 years depending on how it's being managed
5. The fruit can be grown from the seed or the stem.
6. Growing it from the stem gives quick result and high yield

Am going to reveal the secret; how to grow pawpaw from the stem
Bro give me ur contact

People will rather spend 5 million to japa to UK where they'd start cleaning toilets than spend even half of that amount on farming...

The excuse they will give is that bandits will kill them if they go to the farm.
You'd wonder if the OP here didn't make this his money here in the same Nigeria they always make to look like a warzone.

They other day we saw a woman who makes N5 billion annually planting cassava.. Here in the same Nigeria where bandits kill everybody everyday o.

Good job Sir. How do you differentiate female pawpaw from male pawpaw when you want to plant them?
Re: How I Made Over A Million Naira Growing Pawpaw by mariahAngel(f): 1:44pm On Nov 26, 2022
WorkhardAgric:
The male Pawpaw does not fruit or produce pawpaw. It has a medicinal value which makes it very useful in deworming animals including human beings.

Where you get female Pawpaw planted without a male Pawpaw around it, the female Pawpaw can never fruit since no male is around to fertilize it.

Munzy14, ihe a o wu eshiokwu?

Also, are uziza leaves and seeds gotten from the same plant?

After eating pawpaw, drop the seed somewhere, watch some germinate and grow to produce fruits within a year and some months.

Male pawpaw is only used for herbal concoction.

Yes..The plant if left for long will bear small seeds.

First, thank you OP for bringing this to the front page. I do have a few pawpaw trees that i grow in my garden and i must say i feel bless seeing how just a single seed grows up to become a tree that produces multiple fruits.
This is one thing that fascinates me about Crop production which is a branch of Agriculture. I do want to ask a few questions if you don't mind?

What signs do you look for to know the pawpaw is ready for harvest?

Do you think having too much fruits on a particular tree could affect the size/ yield?

Can only use the dry pawpaw leaves as Organic manure?

How do you get access to a readily available market for someone selling for the first time?

Would love to hear your thoughts and contribution to the questions above. Thank you.

Can one easily tell the male from the female?
Pawpaw is one of best fruits because it's very filling. Soursop too.

By then, the leaves will no longer be useful (the one left long enough to produce seeds)?
