The whole point of that post is Addo's playing approach is not one to be impressed with. Man is more about negative football and Park bus tactics to grind out a result and use those results to justify his approaches. Very distasteful. He will be much properly exposed eventually.

He did it against Nigeria in Abuja and escaped with a ticket. Did it in Accra too. Did it vs Portugal. He is riding his luck.

Anyway, Ghana for Accra after the Uruguay game and if they shame me and make that round of 16 by mistake... Ahhh.... the manner in which they will be booted out won't be funny coz Brazil will absolutely annihilate those akwaaba crooners.

But hopefully they will be spared such by Uruguay grin coz Uruguay will knock them out. wink

AndSunGorilla:

Yes Qudus was brilliant but two of the goals scored today were due to the quality of the crosses even the last Qudus goal was due to the quality of the cross which Inaki should actually have hit. The first goal was definitely a worldclass cross by Jordan Ayew. Coaches get the stick for losing and whether they fumble and wobble through, it is only fair for the coach to bask in the euphoria of winning. Ordinary S. Korea, a WC semi-finalist and currently ranked 28 by FIFA lost to Ghana ranked 61. Ghana people are kukuma know for big yansh before, so no lele if dem open small out of am grin grin

Guy you're talking as if you haven't watched football before or noticed how fortunes go up and down over time.

But if you feel this pessimistic about the Super Eagles why do you then bother coming to this thread?

The match between Ghana vs Uruguay will be bloody. The 2010 quarter final clash between those teams is still fresh in our memories. Ghana to revenge?

I appreciate Kudus' individual brilliance for Ghana today. He was always gonna be their difference maker at this WC.

But Addo is not a coach that impresses me. His predominantly negative football style makes me puke. He is disciplined in the art of Park bus and Total Negativism in approach. His first half display vs Portugal still makes me wonder what kind of team settles for such nonsense football all in the name of results alone in the short term.

Even Morocco are Defensive Juggernauts and still mixes it nicely with fine strategic attacking transitions no matter who.

His tactics against Portugal was on point ... He knows his team and this World Cup is the only really competitive football they played...

Meeting any European team and opening up at the beginning to the game will allow them to punish you.
They defending and soaking the Portuguese attack frustrated the Portuguese team a lot and that is exactly what we needed to build the confidence of the team..

The pep talk they had in the dressing room was quite effective the the boys were discipline enough to stick to every instructions given to them throughout that match.

The technical team blew that match when they allowed their timing of changes to break the team momentum.
Fist change was on point because A. Ayew wasn't giving us the pace we needed, but the second change was totally not and it ending up causing us

Look, we have Amunike who is doing decently at Zanaco FC in Zambia. Hired as their technical consultant to the Coaching Crew of the side and with their team on a poor run of results, he has helped turned thingd around.

He came in around late September and from 1st October till date, Zanaco has only lost once in 10 games.

Pre-Amunike, they were on a run of 5 losses in 12 league games.

Let us take a cue from Morocco... They picked up Walid Regragui from Wydad. They looked inwards and picked a coach that knows the lads. They kicked out Vahid who was having issues with Ziyech and Morocco knew they still need Ziyech and chose him over the foreign coach while bringing in a local that knows the players and was willing to play them to their strengths and pick a Tactically balanced side.

If we want the truth, Amunike knows the core of this Squad. Give him the job.

Doc. Please I need your honest assessment of the timing of Rhor sacking, if it was right or wrong with a stat to back it up if their is any. Will be glad to hear from you soonest

They are not good. They are like the south American Belgium at the moment. Most of their players are past their prime. Ghana should be able to beat them.

No shots. No single forward transition. Zero chances made. All he had his boys do in that first half was sit behind the ball and defend and use their physical advantage to disrupt plays. How is that on point and Impressive? Any team can sit behind the ball and park the bloody bus in even more irritating fashion.

It is negative football and there is nothing on point about Negative football.

And this point @bolded is rubbish. MOROCCO'S Walid Regragui is also coaching his first really competitive football tournament with Morocco. Morocco's win yesterday was only Walid's 5th game in charge since he took over the job yet he isn't dropping the negative football nonsense Addo is dropping and addo has played more than twice as much games (11) as Walid.

So sorry, that excuse doesn't fly at all.

I disagree with you.
Football academies to the rescue.
Our football academies are producing players everyday.
So we won't lack quality players.
We just need a good coach and we will be alright.
If we lacked quality players then I will be scared. We just have to get over this coaching issue.
The only aspect of our football that needs time is our local league and efforts are been made in that direction

THE BEST COACH FOR THE SUPER EAGLES

The best coach for the super eagles should be the coach of the Siera Leone
team that held us to a 4 4 draw or the coach of the CAR team
that defeated us in Nigeria.

1. Both coaches seem to have a high sense of football tactics
2. Both coaches seem to know how to get the best out of their below average players
3. Both coaches seem to understand our players and African football in general
4. Both coaches are affordable and not expensive.

We should have seen it and contacted the coach of CAR and Siera leone immediately they started causing us problems.
I think Bayern hired their present coach from Leipzig when they saw how good he was
Big companies allways hire talented employees.
Look this is why forieng companies come to Nigeria to hire computer programmers, doctors and other skilled personel. They can see talent that can be harnessed cheaply.
Offering a coach like that the chance to coach one of the biggest teams in African football is mouth watering and with their knowledge, they will do well.
Both coaches to me will be another Westerhoof

grin Okay

Abeg any other gist about the Onana wahala? ESPN said he disagreed with Song because of his defensive formations. I read somewhere else that it's because Song wants him to stay more in the box, traditional goalkeeping than the Higuita and now modern day goalkeeper/sweeper style.

Onana has antecedents though, I recalled he didn't play in the ANC they won, chose Ajax over Cameroun. I think they should blacklist him from their NT.

I am not stunned at all. My only surprise in this game was South Korea falling behind in the first place. I have watched enough of this Addo's Ghanaian side to know what they are capable of.

They are a momentum team. Once they score, they play better and get more confident but once they lose touch with that momentum, they can be eaten up.

Addo is a limited coach too. I don talk am already.

The game is not about whose first time coaching... It's about the players playing on the field and whether they have played together before competitively to know each other way if playing.

When you're defending, it's a very difficult thing to make that transition and again your opponent can use the open spaces you've left to punish you.
The coach plan worked except for the transitions to catch Portugal on the counter offensive which A.Ayew couldn't make because he didn't have speed and we didn't concede in the first half of the game, that is a plus for Ghana because it would have killed spirit.
Out midfield played well and so did defense

I think it is not totally his fault.
The major reason he was dropped is probably because of his remark about Eto'o.

And then, while his coach want him to be ballooning the ball anywhere anyhow, Onana would rather calm down and build up the ball from the back (check the picture below)

I see nothing wrong with both scenarios though.
