The whole point of that post is Addo's playing approach is not one to be impressed with. Man is more about negative football and Park bus tactics to grind out a result and use those results to justify his approaches. Very distasteful. He will be much properly exposed eventually. He did it against Nigeria in Abuja and escaped with a ticket. Did it in Accra too. Did it vs Portugal. He is riding his luck. Anyway, Ghana for Accra after the Uruguay game and if they shame me and make that round of 16 by mistake... Ahhh.... the manner in which they will be booted out won't be funny coz Brazil will absolutely annihilate those akwaaba crooners. But hopefully they will be spared such by Uruguay coz Uruguay will knock them out. AndSunGorilla: 1 Like |

Guy you're talking as if you haven't watched football before or noticed how fortunes go up and down over time. 4 years even 1 is a long time in football. But if you feel this pessimistic about the Super Eagles why do you then bother coming to this thread? Blueelf: 3 Likes 1 Share |

The match between Ghana vs Uruguay will be bloody. The 2010 quarter final clash between those teams is still fresh in our memories. Ghana to revenge? 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd:His tactics against Portugal was on point ... He knows his team and this World Cup is the only really competitive football they played... Meeting any European team and opening up at the beginning to the game will allow them to punish you. They defending and soaking the Portuguese attack frustrated the Portuguese team a lot and that is exactly what we needed to build the confidence of the team.. The pep talk they had in the dressing room was quite effective the the boys were discipline enough to stick to every instructions given to them throughout that match. The technical team blew that match when they allowed their timing of changes to break the team momentum. Fist change was on point because A. Ayew wasn't giving us the pace we needed, but the second change was totally not and it ending up causing us 9 Likes |

No shots. No single forward transition. Zero chances made. All he had his boys do in that first half was sit behind the ball and defend and use their physical advantage to disrupt plays. How is that on point and Impressive? Any team can sit behind the ball and park the bloody bus in even more irritating fashion. It is negative football and there is nothing on point about Negative football. And this point @bolded is rubbish. MOROCCO'S Walid Regragui is also coaching his first really competitive football tournament with Morocco. Morocco's win yesterday was only Walid's 5th game in charge since he took over the job yet he isn't dropping the negative football nonsense Addo is dropping and addo has played more than twice as much games (11) as Walid. So sorry, that excuse doesn't fly at all. Just40: 1 Like 1 Share |

chrisooblog: I am pessimistic yes but I have not lost hope I am saying it as it is. It is harder to build than to destroy And I am telling you for a fact. Nigerian football need 10yrs of consistent and deliberate effort. If we miss the next World cup, I won't be surprised. If we get knocked out in the round of 16 in the next afcon, I also won't be surprised Wde need 10yrs or more 1 Like |

Blueelf: I disagree with you. Football academies to the rescue. Our football academies are producing players everyday. So we won't lack quality players. We just need a good coach and we will be alright. If we lacked quality players then I will be scared. We just have to get over this coaching issue. The only aspect of our football that needs time is our local league and efforts are been made in that direction |

Abeg any other gist about the Onana wahala? ESPN said he disagreed with Song because of his defensive formations. I read somewhere else that it's because Song wants him to stay more in the box, traditional goalkeeping than the Higuita and now modern day goalkeeper/sweeper style. Onana has antecedents though, I recalled he didn't play in the ANC they won, chose Ajax over Cameroun. I think they should blacklist him from their NT. |

TheSuperNerd:The game is not about whose first time coaching... It's about the players playing on the field and whether they have played together before competitively to know each other way if playing. When you're defending, it's a very difficult thing to make that transition and again your opponent can use the open spaces you've left to punish you. The coach plan worked except for the transitions to catch Portugal on the counter offensive which A.Ayew couldn't make because he didn't have speed and we didn't concede in the first half of the game, that is a plus for Ghana because it would have killed spirit. Out midfield played well and so did defense |

AndSunGorilla:I think it is not totally his fault. The major reason he was dropped is probably because of his remark about Eto'o. And then, while his coach want him to be ballooning the ball anywhere anyhow, Onana would rather calm down and build up the ball from the back (check the picture below) I see nothing wrong with both scenarios though.
