One bridge , 3 toll Gates. But what does Lagos state actually do with the money given to it by Federal Government, notwithstanding the one it generates from Lagos residents. No social benefits is given to the people, nothing,

Babangida was magnanimous to have completed 3rd mainland bridge without one single toll gate on it.

Why are u complaining when we lagosians are not? Leave is with our tax payment.
We believe in the 4th Mainland bridge project cos it's going to reduce the stress of holdup

They give all the money to Tinubu.

Lagos gets more money than Rivers bsut see how Wike is using Rivers money and everyone is seeing it.

Now they want to build a bridge and put three tolls on it - Tinubu style. If and when the guy becomes president, he will toll your lives out

The same way that ThiefNuibu and his boys have been moving fast on the light rail for the past 22 years?
Are Lagosians so dumb to keep these progreThieves in charge of their commonwealth

Lagos light rail’ll be ready in June – Fashola
January 9, 2013

The Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola on Tuesday said the first phase of the state Blue Light Rail project would be completed by June this year(2013).

He expressed confidence that Lagosians would start enjoying the services of the rail project immediately.

The first phase would run from Marina and terminated at Okokomaiko area in Ojo Local Government.

Fashola spoke during an inspection of ongoing projects in the state which took him and his cabinet members to Orile-Iganmu, Alimosho and Ejigbo areas among others to assess the level of works being done by contractors.

The governor, who inaugurated the trackwork of the blue light rail at Alaba Suru, Coker-Agunda Local Council Development Area, said the level of work on the road and those of the National Theatre and Alaba-Mile 2 rail stations, would ensure early completion

He said, “In order to finish the project, the contractor did not go on vacation during the festive period. This will ensure that the project is delivered on time for the use of Lagosians.

“The first section of this rail, which started from National Theatre, Orile-Iganmu to Mile 2 Bus Stop, would be fully completed with the tracks laid.

“Construction work will continue on the project from Orile-Iganmu to Marina, the expansion work on the road from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko will also be intensified.

“This is what we do with the loan collected by the government. We don’t use our loan to pay salaries and other recurrent expenditure, what we do with our loan is to provide capital projects that would serve the residents.

“When the project is completed, the state would be at par with other major cities of the world.”

Lagos is just an advanced slum and village if compared to other cities with the financial capacity of Lagos state, and Nigeria is just an advanced jungle if compared to other countries with the financial capacity of Nigeria.

But it has nothing to do with tinubu. Before some claim it is the old man's wok.

You have been talking about this project for 16 years now without progress.

Of course, nobody is allowed to insult the Lagos State Government because it is not FG's Lagos-Ibadan expressway. grin

Just imagine the level of brainwashing and ediocy being displayed on the front page over a project that has made all the major newspaper for 16 years. grin

Here is a 2009 Nairaland thread about this same bridge: https://www.nairaland.com/294287/proposed-4th-mainland-bridge-lagosa

Indeed, I am forced to agree that many Nigerians deserve to live and wallow in abject poverty, especially those palliative thieves at the lower end of the chain. How can the government even deliver on its promises when you all go about praising the same non-existing bridge for 16 years and counting. What kind of humans are we?? And when people try to point out the shortcomings of the government, you all turn it to Igbo vs Yoruba grin grin

Actually, Lagos belongs to anybody who made use of it's infrastructures during his lifetime. Likewise every part of Nigeria. But ethnic division and bigotry will not allow us to realize this. Any move to develop any part of this country is welcome. So stop Anambra this, Enugu that. Yoruba people who spent all their lives in Anambra has no direct benefit from the bridge in Lagos, rather whatever built in Anambra he should enjoy.

Many of you shouting lagos was capital territory have no knowledge of history. Even if you are still very young, check google, Lagos Island up to Surulere was capital. The rest was lagos state and built by lagos money. And secondly, federal government stopped new structures when capital moved to Abuja over 20 years ago. Since then Lagos development even became very fast and astronomical. Go and read young boy.

The truth is bitter bro, a state that just seized to be federal capital in 1991 should not claim any glory of being more developed than others, federal projects are still littered there, Murtala Muhammed Airport, Tincan Island Whart, Apapa wharf, the third mainland bridge was constructed by IBB, so stop boasting about Lagos, boast with other South Western States
Lagos airport and wharf has been in Lagos before colonial era..okay..Your federal government only upgraded it as a form of investment after grabbing all the investment of our fore father through unitary system of government spearheaded by Aguiyi ironsi.
Unfortunately the same investment you listed are in Kaduna too...now tell us why Kaduna state is not competing with Lagos economically.

Check very well. Federal allocation to Lagos is not up to Rivers or Akwa Ibom. Why has lagos left them behind? Since Babangida moved capital to Abuja, what special allocation was given to Lagos. Go and read details on google.
