Thomas Partey is the only Ghanaian midfielder that can have a starting berth in the Super Eagles midfield. The above conclusion is for those talking low about Super Eagles and hyping Ghanaian midfield to the firmament. Mohammed Kudus should have a lot of thanks to Partey. I see the work Partey does in that midfield. 4 Likes |

Who would have thought that Morocco will be table toppers in a group that has 2nd best team in the world; Belgium and last world cup finalists Croatia? No one saw this comin when the groups were drawn. No one. 3 Likes |

We are missing the Partey type player in our midfield. Ndidi and Iwobi better than Samad and Kudus respectively. I think Onyedika or Nwakali should be tried in that role instead of Etebo/Aribo. Meliforme: |

He was brought in as an assistant in the midst of other assistants. How was he going to do everything he needed in just 2 games? Eguavoen was the one in charge. No Amunike. There is a big difference between Amunike teams and Eguavoen teams. Morocco's Walid reminds me of Amunike. They share some similarity in philosophy. Marjoribanks: 1 Like |

There is a reason only Partey from the Ghanaian team makes my best Africa XI, 2022.... Meliforme: ...as seen below. But take nothing away from Kudus. He is an AM with a lot of drive and intelligence on the ball. TheSuperNerd: 2 Likes |

TheSuperNerd: I disagree. Forming a strong midfield from Nigeria and Ghana combined. Only Iwobi stands a chance to start. I will place Partey as my DM, Iwobi as my CM and Kudus as my AM. Ndidi to the bench. 1 Like |

I said Africa Best XI. Amrabat made mine as CDM. Partey as CM/B2B and Ziyech as AM. Note: Partey can play both CDM & B2B-CM roles comfortably. 'Was only responding to Meliforme's observation on Partey's influence in the middle for Ghana. Not necessarily addressing the Combined midfield XI of Ghana and Naija. ChrisKels: 1 Like 1 Share |

But if I am to strongly and specially address the Combined midfield strength of Ghana and Naija right now... ofcoz... Mine won't look different from yours. Ndidi will indeed be benched especially from tactical and technical POVs. ChrisKels: 1 Like |

Salisu Yusuf was the major assistant to Eguavoen both at the Afcon and during the WCQs and somehow he still has a job with one of our national teams. It was he who led the Home based Eagles vs Costa Rica, not so? So if Salisu can still be considered, then it's only fair we also give Amunike an independent shot and not rope him into Eguavoen's failure. Amunike has what this team needs thanks to his coaching training exposition in Spain. His tactical nous and flexible technical mind is what we need. He is still the guy who dumbfounded FIFA technical experts back in 2015 in Chile. Besides, the core of the team are lads he contributed to nurturing from the U17s. He knows them in and out. He knows their strengths and attributes. This team is practically screaming for him. elyte89: 1 Like |

I know all these but I am not saying this by limiting myself to the politics that is obvious in our football. I am stating what the team actually needs whether those at the top will listen or not. I will keep voicing out my concerns about this team from the coaching to the playing personnel and I will use whatever platform with whatever time I can muster. I won't give up just because Baba Salisu get godfather and Amunike don't... ...Or because someone in the NFF somehow doesn't wanna give Alhassan his chance just yet. Omo... I will keep talking and mentioning what I know is the right thing for our football. Someday, it will all come together or never. But I won't stop. That's why it's called Passion. elyte89: 1 Like 1 Share |
