In the midst of all this shalayes and counter shalayes I repeat...Vote OBI for President, Successive PDP and APC government has run this country into the ground, abstaining from the electoral process is the same as supporting these wicked entities that have made Nigeria impossible to endure for the common man...Shikena kiss kiss

Look up and all you see from these wicked people are simply attempts to still gaslight people into supporting this wicked party.

Dont let yourself be decieved. SHINE YOUR EYES.

Nah this particular subsidy issue is the truth.

Even buhari is scared of officially removing it even though price of fuel is going up.

I dunno why buhari is scared of removing the subsidy..
Unless he thinks it will hamper the chances of APC.
Newsflash the damage is being done already. If you join queues and listen to the conversations.. Omo e rugged for apc..e rugged well well.

This whole thing is just a slow painful process to the inevitable

If we are being honest, whether buhari likes it or not that subsidy will be removed officially or not because from what is being said, FG has reduced the amount of money they pay.

Right now fuel is selling for 250-300 in most stations.
There's already talk that the lowest fuel will sell is 400 if subsidy is removed.. We are already on 300 in some places and it's not Xmas period yet.

Personally alot of Nigerians should just prepare their minds that by next year, fuel will go up to like 300 in almost every station and Buhari will still claim that subsidy is being paid. grin grin

If fuel goes 'up' to 300 it's still being subsidised.

That's why I posted the pump price of petrol in our neighbours backyard. Ghanians are paying the equivalent of almost 1k per litre.

Prospa, this matter is not as simple as people think it is.

I'm saying that 300 as best case scenario guy (wishful thinking from me)

Guys wey dey run this parol (if I see the link, I'd share) Don come talk say make we expect at least 400 if e too low.

The brutal reality is petrol has to sell closer to 800 but omo Nigeria will go up in flames if that happens..

But I believe we can cope with 400 while the government fixes power with whatever cash they can mop up.

I really prayed this Siemens deal would have been showing the benefits but na here we dey.

So yes.. I agree we are bleeped.. But I trust Obi who has shown he can run a lean and efficient economy with little cash to atleast set us on a proper path.

Nihilistjnr you said Nigeria was never built to be a nation. Well what is always intended isn't what it always turns out to be. Nigeria might not be working right now but it has survived as a nation for 62yrs.

Aside the economic interests of the founders of Nigeria which to me isn't a barrier to our progress, what are the other factors stopping the nation from working? Different ethnic groups, cultures, ideologies, religion, illiteracy, corruption?

There are many countries with this same issues but they're working today. What is the difference? Has there been any period since independence that Nigeria worked? Has the leadership been this bad from inception?

To me what has kept Nigeria from not working is the mindset of it cannot work[it was not built to work] rather than the differences we have as a nation. If we elect leaders who believe Nigeria can work, we'll begin to see that shift towards a working Nigeria because with the right mindset comes the right approach and it leads to the right results.

How can he create legislative reforms to change their modus operandi without the NASS? You know he cannot make substantive appointments without the NASS right? You know, the one I started with?
So to you the solution to this is moving back to PDP?

As both of us speak right now, Nnpc is not remitting a single dime to Nigeria, even though the global economy is experiencing an economic boom.
Is this not fantastic corruption at play?? Oil marketers are stealing oil subsidy, who is responsible for making the process so opaque??
Who is the minister of petroleum?

Nigeria's export capacity is also reduced due to oil theft, is government not supposed to crack down on this?

This are things a new government can solve. We've tried the APC, they FAILED!

When Obi wins with Labor party, the elite and the political class would see that Nigerians have fully woken up. Voting back pdapc signals business as usual.

The effects of Labor party winning trickles down to all government parastatals and strengthens Nigeria's democracy.

This is where clowns tend to falter.

NNPC is not remitting to CBN - why? They are using the dollars to subsidise Nigerian fuel.

There is Corruption in Subsidy. Marketers are stealing money. Are you prepared to pay full price for Petrol if the government ends Subsidy?

It was only last year that I bought petrol at £2 a litre...at today's exchange rates that's about N1900 a litre. In USA the price hit $8 a gallon.

Right now the price of petrol here is £1.50 a litre. That's like N1300 per litre. They are talking about cost Energy crisis - my monthly Electricity bill is £500 per month as standard cos I live in a big house and it's all electric - winter cold has pushed my Electric bill alone into £700 territory.

This is what unsubsidised energy looks like.

No Nigerian Government would last a week if they ever exposed Nigerians to these kind of prices. Which is why successive PDP and APC Government's have run away from it, and accepted the corruption around Subsidy as the price to pay for staying in power.

It's not by shouting about corruption. It's a very small group rotating power between themselves and they know Nigeria is essentially unfixable, which is why the only logical thing for them to do is to at least cash out.

This is the same thing I've been telling people offline. Nigeria wasn't programmed to work.
It's either we go back to regional system of government or the country get divided. Those two options are the only way forward, or else in 50 years time people would still be wailing about the things being wailed about today.

I'm out

Interesting question.

You made a reference to 3 million barrels being stolen, The vessel that stole that oil was called the MV. Heroic Idun. The ship stole oil in Nigeria and escaped, only to be caught by the Navy of Equatorial Guinea.

Being C-in-C is not an operational title. It was a military title created by Babangida. The president isnt running the armed forces, which is why Service Chiefs exist. Service Chiefs are not partisan APC or PDP members - They are not elected.

I think a lot of people are missing the bigger picture by looking at dysfunction in under Buhari regime in isolation, rather than a continuous decline since the day Lord Lugard's olosho invented the name.

Bro have you forgotten that this same Niger Delta was brought to it's knees by Asari, Tompolo, Gbomo Jomo, MEND, etc? Have you forgotten that the FG had to embark on an extremely expensive amnesty programme to pacify these niggas so that NNPC could continue to earn from our 'oyel'?. Have you forgotten that these same militants were given pipeline security contracts to keep things cool? Tompolo still holds a pipeline security contract by the way.

What do you think is likely to happen in a region where successive governments have maintained a policy of pacification in the Niger Delta? How else do you think the NNPC is even getting ANYTHING at all from the creeks? Do you think the manpower in the armed forces exists to take on these guys in the creeks WHILST fighting Boko Haram and Bandits and Herdsmen and UGM and ESN and IPOB and Igboho and fvck knows who else?

Bro, why do you think I keep saying abandon all hope? cheesy.

Are people not seeing what I'm seeing here??

Nigerians for the first time in a long electoral cycle have seen reasons to be optimistic about a better Nigeria. To take part in this Political revolution that has presented itself, in the belief that it triggers the effects of good governance.

People staying abroad are trying everything they can do to kill that hope and dampen morale, telling Nigerians that Nigeria will never get better.

Oya leave Nigerians alone na! Give them the chance to prove you wrong.
Unless you don't really want to be proved wrong. Unless what you really seek is for the country to get worse so that you can come here every month and now gloat as to how you are enjoying the worthlessness. As to how the fall of our currency is benefitting you, as to how a cleaner in London can now live like a billionaire in Nigeria.

This heartlessness is what I'm hoping People here will see very closely. You can see that these people don't have your best interests at heart.

You can see that none of them can provide any solution to Nigeria's problem. All they're doing is feasting on their melancholic doom mongering. An evil kind of enjoyment from peoples sorrow.

Be wise!!!!

Any conversation you have with these bastards, ask them a simple question, WHAT SHOULD NIGERIANS DO?
WHAT SOLUTIONS ARE THEY PROFERING?
Ok we've heard, Nigeria won't be better, Leave us be to our foolishness. We are determined to prove you wrong.

Maybe some people don't know, but I've always known. These governors are the biggest thieves in this so called democracy we are operating.

They get to do little or nothing in their states and then hide behind the FG.

If u Notice, it's only when allocation has issues that u see the governors shouting and dragging FG anyhow, the moment the money drop for Aza u no go hear anything again.

Wike did a full page advertorial in almost all popular dailies when Buhari paid him for FG projects did by Rivers state government in rivers state.

By and large, Wike is like the only governor that one can't rally describe as being hypocrite. Niggga criticised Buhari as much as he can and then he didn't waste time to praise him when the raba drop for aza. Samuel 4cking Ortom won't do that
