.... until most of them experience life outside Nigeria, they won't understand and keep on dreaming, fantasizing impossibility.

Let him keep wailing Abroadians don't want good for Nigeria and Nigerians.... he's Jon Snow.

A piece of Tomato is 1dhr at Grocery where I am living, that is equivalent to 200 naira [black market rate].

UAE is infinitely more expensive than Nigeria for various reasons but for many foodstuffs, the West is actually cheaper than Nigeria. There is no reason for that to be the case except for Nigerian inefficiencies with food storage, transport and mass production methods. . . especially considering the vast disparity in cost of labour

I can't believe someone is encouraging people to sell their votes for crumbs like 5k, De Rica of rice and he doesn't know he's the one that needs help.

Collecting those ridiculous things from politicians is the meaning of "putting your personal needs first".

Baba just take a look at the figures up there.

Delta with a population of 5.6million (per 2006 census) gets 28 billion naira from FAAC , while....

Bayelsa with a population of 1.7million (per 2006 census) gets 20 billion naira from FAAC withing same period.

Yet it took the donation of other state governors, private companies, NGO's and individuals to cushion the effect of the recent flood incidents on the residents of the state.

This is another thing people have said on this thread but it is simply not true. The dip in production was the lowest since 2009. The reason is simple. The same issues that bedeviled OBJs govt into Yar Adua's and stopped after GEJ became HOS, started again after GEJ lost.

Can you guess what it was? If you can, you'll know what SLS meant when he said corruption will fight back.

Oga nor allow me give you blow abeg.
This particular issue na proper corruption wey apc nor fit even explain properly.
Was it not here NNPC suddenly started acting action movies by "discovering" new pipelines that they said creek boys did hot tapping since 2014 (lovely date to blame PDP) but they never noticed any drop in pressure or anything for years.. But they suddenly did with barely a year left in the buhari tenure.

If there's one thing this particular government has been guilty of, its been proper organised level of oil theft to the point it affected the country.

So abeg dead your explanation undecided

It's funny how you always end up arguing against yourself.

Real talk, you might need some help.
I have said a number of times that only if a strong-willed politician can create regional governments, that's when the country will move forward.

That's the real solution but I don't see that happening any time soon with the many greedy politicians we've currently.

You don't take time to read some of my posts and some of your posts to see the ridiculousness of your takes on some issues.

I don't know what you're talking about.
Look at this table here. India is the world's 5th biggest economy in the world.

Again, number 5 in the entire world.
All their economic index far surpassess ours. These are people that experienced this tremendous growth in just 2 decades.
Trying to use personal anecdotes to show that Nigeria is better than India is a logical fallacy.

India is better than Nigeria in every single metric used to measure growth.

India GDP per Capita is similar to Nigerias

Their big GDP is simply due to their massive population

They are comparable in poverty for the most part

Wike collected 103b Naira and he has been commissioning projects in the last one month.

Okowa collected 110b Naira, yet he has commissioned nothing. We focus too much on federal Government instead of making our respective Governors accountable for their failures.

Udom collected the highest, and has some projects to show for it, plus Airplanes. Diri? Collect your money, wake up vibes.... LOL!

PMB issued Executive Order 10 for Local Government Autonomy, these same Governors go to Court to challenge it, but we are much more interested in the Presidency.

Regional Government or Nothing...... that's only possible Solution we should be seeking now.

As someone posted earlier, at THIS POINT, going to vote for a third party candidate is a waste of time when you know the impossible odds of that candidates number making a dent not to talk of winning, however one can still enact change in other people's mind by relentlessly educating and informing others of the need for change both in person and on social media. On my watsapp, facebook, twitter and instagram page, I constantly advocate for radical change in our political and religious mindset. Overtime, more will key into this.

I have made a lot of people around me start questioning what they believe, that's effective work if you ask me.

Apart form petrodollar, hope you know that Saudi realizes billions of dollars every year through mumus that keep visiting the country for religious tourism.

If many of our ancestors in this part of the world were clever, cunning, and pugnacious like the warmongers and expansionists that designed Islam, they would have also imported Olohun to the nooks and crannies of the world as the Supreme God.

And revenues from mumus that do pilgrimage every year to Nigeria to worship our local deities like Osun, Yemoja, Olohun, Chineke as God will be humongous and help spur the country to development.

But African traditional worshippers don't realize that no religion can grow without things like violence (blood shed) and distortion of historical facts, vices their counterparts in Christianity and Islam had long mastered.

Generally, many religious people can't see the danger of wallowing in worshipping the gods/goddesses.

Religion unites people? When a father can even kill or starve his own child for having the guts to challenge religious beliefs or think independently.

Well, this sort of discussion isn't even worth having anyways when most don't even realize that they're slaves and that they've been scammed, indoctrinated from childhood to believe lies.

Smart people, on reaching adulthood, would critique all those dubious religious beliefs they've been fed with from childhood and subject them to scrutiny and test of logic.

Religion (mental slavery) will always limit a person's brain development and will always limit a nation's progress.

In 2023 general elections, religion will yet again be one of the key factors that will determine the people that will be chosen to lead the country in various capacities.

So, those that can see and think deeply know the Nigerian situation is really a hopeless one. The rot is too deep.

That's why those that are financially capable are doing everything possible to leave the sinking ship or keeping one foot here and the other in a developed country.

By 2023, a number of regulars here will have left the country, and the brain drain will keep on taking place. But most religious people believe praying for a better Nigeria is the way forward.

Hi Android17,

What do you think of the Dangote's refinery and the (expected) possibilities around solving the subsidy problems. Is there any hope in that regard.

Off the top of my head, I think there are different kind of structures that can be created for competitive economies (with Dangote's partnership of course) seeing as most of the Oil marketers are part of a cartel

Concerning Oil theft, I would think foreign mercenaries are our best bet - at least short term; especially if you think of the rot in our security system plus the incentive of Oil money

I would really like to hear your views
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by larride(m): 6:34am On Dec 03, 2022
All three major marketers like Oando, AP, Total, Bovas are still selling fuel 180.

It's the small chain marketers that are jacking up the price of fuel.

I also read somewhere or was it an interview I watched that NNPC stopped remitting to the CBN not just because they used the money to pay subsidy but because they claim they are now a limited liability company and can decide to keep their money in any bank of their choice and do whatever they want with it.

As it stands, the country is borrowing money to pay subsidy. I honestly don't blame those who think it's a hopeless situation. I tend to lean towards the same side of the divide.

You and the person you quoted are short-sighted and lack simple understanding of issues.

Believing Nigeria will develop is a hopeless situation.

The solution is either regional government or breakup. I've said that a number of times.
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by A001: 7:00am On Dec 03, 2022
The roots of Nigeria's problems lie in religion, the issue of forced marriage, bad leadership, corruption, and the selfish need of the average Nigerian to put their needs and those of their family first.

While we are waiting for the bolded to happen, what is wrong with collecting 5k or a De Rica of rice in the interim since you agree the current situation is hopeless.
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 7:26am On Dec 03, 2022
The idea that Nigeria's problem has to do with "Forced Marriage" doesn't work for me.

Nigeria's problem is simply because we have leaders that are downright corrupt, and have no integrity. It has nothing to do with any forced marriages

Okowa is from Delta, and he chopped Delta people funds. A man of the soil, embezzling the funds of the soil. How is this a product of failed marriage?

The only that reason would go well me is if individual geo zones were performing and improving well. Rather it isnt the case

Apart from Lagos in the SW, all the others have poverty written on them. Forget all the buildings and roads you see, people are living below shiiiit there

The same goes for the SE, NC, NE and NW. I don't about the SS because i haven't been there much. Almost every inch of this country has poverty written on it.

So, this reason of failed marriage should just be skipped abeg.

When I said Lagos is one of the safest metropolitan cities in the world with its type of population, some butt munching ediots started attacking me cos they just can't think outside their emotions.

Lagos is too safe for the type of population it has.
Cities with way less number of people are crime ridden cesspool.
And Lagos used to be like that before 1999, where ghettos etc are no go areas.

People actually have no idea how big this record.
https://www.nairaland.com/7462102/lagos-records-lowest-robbery-incidents

NOC1:
Outside Agbero wahala, lagos is the safest place in Nigeria as of today.

Probably those who should be robbing and kidnapping people in Lagos are those Agberos. After chasing cars and trucks from 4:00am they don’t have time and strength to plan and prepare for crimes.

Before you sound stupid, I never said criminals are not in Lagos, I said the rate of crime in Lagos against its population is less.

and this guy's funny comment summed everything up perfectly
