Good morning everyone. I pray for those that just apply for there visa that they we'll all be granted. Please I wanted to ask some questions and I'll be so happy if my questions will be answered. 1. I studied Civil Engineering with HND cert. Here in Nigeria. What course can I study in Australia that can at least guarantee me PR? 2. Or will I have to start afresh, I mean starting from BSc or can one go for masters? 3. Can I do all the school and Visa application myself without going through agents? 4. Who can provide me websites of Institutions I can apply for admission. Please, I hope my questions aren't too much. I'm just a novice and trying to make a better life for myself and family |

Hello, I have a question please. There’s this new rule on home affairs website concerning having SOP with just 300 words. I don’t know if anyone else has seen that. It’s been on the site for 2 weeks now. My agents got 2 students visa denied and no reason was given so they don’t know if it’s because of the sop issue. Is there anyone that is yet to lodge his/her visa because of the 300 word SOP policy? Is there anyone that has heard of that issue please? I attached the link here. https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/student-500/genuine-temporary-entrant?fbclid=IwAR2emz7rK3YvBgx1k61_Lvl1qESvvkdo0vgdp7G9zKspxGk5TIENJhdq8UI |

My agent lodged my visa recently and the SOP was more than 300 words. very lengthy. I want to assume this does not matter. They can't be denied for this because this is not the only requirements. + Jemiimaa99: |

wentroublecomes: 1 and 2: I'm not sure if you'd be considered directly for Masters although some would prefer you go for a bridging course like postgraduate diploma course before the Masters 3: Yes, you can but most schools prefer you go through their agents as they'd assist in proper documentation and the likes 4: Google to the rescue here |

If you read the words on the link you shared it says "...on the online visa application form..". When filling your application for visa online there is a space to write a short GTE statement of 300 words. You cant pass it the limit. The rest characters begins to show red. Like twitter tweets when you pass character limit. That is what it is referring to. Aside that one you fill online. Rule says you can attach a supporting statement. Thats the one that can be lengthy. No limit. So I dont think they were denied because of that you cant even go further if you type above 300 words. Jemiimaa99: |

Alexyswiss: Right now, I’m really confused on whether I should go ahead and lodge or I should wait because the ones that were denied, there was no reason given to them. It’s really confusing. |

A friend of mine is in dilemma and has asked me give advice him on what do. I'm confused myself, hence I'm bringing this here for those who are experienced to give their candid opinion. My friend sent his wife to Australia 2 years ago on a student visa. He stayed back with the children and has been taking proper care of them since the wife left. The children are aged 10 and 8. The first child is in primary 6 and will enter secondary school next year. The second child, a boy, is in primary 4 and will move to primary 5 next year. My friend's wifey just obtained her PR last month courtesy of one company she worked for and which nominated her. Now the dilemma. MY friends wifey wants the family to join her. The children are eager to move to Australia. But my friend is skeptical. His skepticism comes from two main factors: 1) he is 49 Years, 2) He is gainfully ( by Nigerian Standard) employed. Takes home about N900k per month working for a private company. My friend will not be able to support the family abroad if he is to allow the children to move to Australia while he remains in Nigeria. EG if he sends AUD 1500, a month to them ( which is about N750K), it wont be able to pay the children's school fees let alone feed. My friend want to know whether to join the family and do any menial or odd jobs he can lay hands on and at least be able to join hands withd the wifey and see the children through university is Australia. Which to him will be a landmark achievement in life. Please advice. |

Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Alexyswiss(m): 2:18pm On Dec 05, 2022 |
My 2 cents is... Go ahead and apply, everybody has their own situation/luck. You waiting for whatever how long you want to, won't change the fact that if you merit it you will get it or you will get it because you waited. And you applying now does not mean that because they refused theirs your too will be refused. They probably didn't show enough GTE to qualify them. Is your case thesame? And also please when did they apply and when were they denied. Jemiimaa99: 2 Likes |

Just go ahead and apply. Only thing here is i think when an agency gets alot of refusals, immi will start to do critical checks on visa applications from them. Jemiimaa99: 1 Like |
