I'm new here but, shouldn't this forum have rules / sanctions against derogatory remarks?

Yes it does. The rules are actually displayed very conspicuously. For example:

"Don't abuse, bully, deliberately insult/provoke, fight, or wish harm to Nairaland members OR THEIR TRIBES."

Welcome to the forum, NigeriaMustFly.

Yes, the forum should, and does have, rules / sanctions against derogatory remarks.

The rules are effected, but not always in every case.

I guess the Nairaland Bot or Moderators are unable to pick every offending instance.

We really need to pray for God to help us out in this country.

Nigeria's resources and potentials are far greater than the sad reality being experienced by the common man.

The 2023 elections provide an opportunity to vote in leaders that will positively change the narrative of corruption, insecurity, nepotism and poverty.

Experience is the best teacher and best currency to take to market. Let us not use those who failed to lift their states or the country out, to help Nigeria at yhis trying times. Those people are not team players like Tinubu. Tinubu relies much on a well selected first eleven to deliver his vision. That’s what we need in Nigeria. Have you seen anyone who worked at highest level with Obi coming out to support him? Have you seen his former deputy Governor or commissioners going around with him? No! Because Obi is not a team player, and he is not a mentor of good leaders. Same with Atiku. But look around Tinubu and you will see the cream of people he has worked with. They are all with him everywhere. That speaks volume on the character and quality of leadership Tinubu has. That’s what we need in Nogeria now.

Yes my guy. Many African countries have suffered under the hard boots of their dictators.

Thinking back, it's strange that Nigeria has had only one ruler that fully qualified to be called a dictator: Sani Abacha.

Not that strange...Nigeria's socio-political evolution since independence simply hasn't provided sufficiently fertile ground for despots.

The US says it has "serious doubts" about the credibility of Equatorial Guinea's election results that saw the world's longest-serving president continue his 43-year-rule.

Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, 80, secured almost 95% of votes, according to election officials.

"Given the scale of irregularities observed and the announced results giving the [ruling party] PDGE 94.9% of the vote, we have serious doubts about the credibility of the announced results," said US State Department spokesman Ned Price.

It said there were credible allegations of "significant election-related irregularities, including documented instances of fraud, intimidation, and coercion".

So his son is also the vice president or I'm I missing something?

The citizens of that country should be ashamed of themselves for allowing President Obiang and his family to rule over them for the past 43yrs...

No be same thing Tinubu do for Lagos since 1999, and he's about to do it in Nigeria too
