maverick1995: Stop calling people dumb when you are the dumb person yet can't see it. POS can get whatever waiver they want but they will still not be able to dispense more cash to customers who have reached their weekly or daily limit. They will end up having excess cash customers cannot take off them because they have already withdrawn their upper limit. This policy does not favour POS operators. Most people will even stop using POS altogether because a cash withdrawal limit of 100k weekly and 20k daily leaves them much better off using their ATM to withdraw 20k to pay 35 Naira charge than withdraw same amount with a POS operator to pay 400 Naira commission. POS operators are the big losers with this policy. Take a minute to think about it and stop arguing blindly. You forget that this policy is about making Nigeria more cashless and not empowering POS operator to be ad hoc replacements to banks as they operate currently. |

So, you'll walk down to an ATM to withdraw 20k which will be paid in 50, 100 & 200 naira denominations respectively? You are not using your brain bruv. And to make the weight of this argument light- this policy will not come into fruition. Dsalvo: |

maverick1995: Right now I don't use ATM much anyway. What can you not pay for with POS, transfer and bank apps? There are even utility and bill services on banking app that allows you to pay for your prepaid and postpaid electricity meters. DSTV, GOTV etal. You can shop online and pay Courier with transfer when he delivers to your door. Yet Nigerians are queuing at utilities outlet with cash to pay their electricity and DSTV/GOTV bill. Have they not tried for you people who love to wallow in backwardness? People like you bring to mind the saying you can force a horse to the river but cannot force it to drink. This policy, a positive and progressive one, will "not come into fruition" according to you. Yet it is your sort who will be loudest in public blaming Buhari, a single person, for all your woes whereas you reserve the right to be backwards, caveman-like and to reject evolutionary positive changes. Na una body the thing dey. Not leaders alone. Most Nigerians have developed such negative outlook and habits to the extent they are useless and hopeless. 2 Likes |

Dsalvo:This can't be true......Fine.....the customer's card are restricted to only 20k per day but customers who need more cash can transfer any amount to the POS Agent and get the cash equivalent. There is no restrictions to the amount you can transfer to someone. I think it's 5 or 2 million per day. Even before the CBN limit, most people especially the younger ones prefer to do transfer to card withdrawal. Just have it at the back of your mind that there will always be a mad rush for cash so the whole thing is to a large extent an advantage of the POS Agent. The only challenge the Agent will face is if there is no waiver or a review.....then it will be hard. But if there is a waiver or a review of say to 50/100k per day, it's to the advantage of the POS Agent. |

CSTRR: If a customer has, reach his cash withdrawal limit but his transfer limit has not be rrached. So he will make transfers to POS agent and get cash out. |

The cashless policy is good because: 1.lt discourages kidnapping / armed robbery. 2. Most Nigerians earn less than 100k per month.Yet each person can withdraw up to 100k cash per week I.e. a total of 400k cash per month. That is still alright. Other transactions can be done in a cashless way at anytime and everyday. The only major disadvantage is that for any amounts from 10k transfered into your bank account 50 naira will be deducted to pay Nigeria's trillions of naira debt according to the Central Bank. So, if 20 customers or persons transfer 10k each to your account in a day,, 1000 NAIRA will be deducted for the FEDERAL GOVT. This results in double or triple taxation. This is because govts. deduct tax from workers salary,; 7.5% value added tax is paid on goods purchased e.t.c. Then 50 naira is deducted everytime10k or more is deposited or transferred into one's bank account. Should innocent Nigerians be held responsible for inflated contracts, embezzled money and other financial atrocities caused by bad governance resulting into trillions of naira debt.? |
