Most of you are dumb.
There is a waiver for POS operators in the missive distributed; go and check it.
It will even favor POS business more.
The government even earmarked it there.

See the attached file

Stop calling people dumb when you are the dumb person yet can't see it. POS can get whatever waiver they want but they will still not be able to dispense more cash to customers who have reached their weekly or daily limit.

They will end up having excess cash customers cannot take off them because they have already withdrawn their upper limit. This policy does not favour POS operators.

Most people will even stop using POS altogether because a cash withdrawal limit of 100k weekly and 20k daily leaves them much better off using their ATM to withdraw 20k to pay 35 Naira charge than withdraw same amount with a POS operator to pay 400 Naira commission.

POS operators are the big losers with this policy. Take a minute to think about it and stop arguing blindly.

You forget that this policy is about making Nigeria more cashless and not empowering POS operator to be ad hoc replacements to banks as they operate currently.

So, you'll walk down to an ATM to withdraw 20k which will be paid in 50, 100 & 200 naira denominations respectively?
You are not using your brain bruv.

And to make the weight of this argument light- this policy will not come into fruition.

That is you. Most things I do not pay cash. I use my card at supermarket for shopping.

I pay for meat and fish at cold stores with my card. Bars and restaurants I use my card.

Even fast food like chicken republic, Mega Chicken, Mr.Biggs etal I used my card.

Shopping online I use my card. What sort of stubborn life are you living bro? If non-cash payment options were absent then I can understand you.

As it is, you just appear a rigid and change-resistive nigga.
Lol change resistive nigga.Bro u live in a big city.others dnt n can only spend cash.Nigeria is not ripe for this... believe me.Dont use ur situation to Judge.20k no be money for naija right now. Before u buy gala n meat pie or chop plate of isiewu, money is finished.Does that mean i will start visiting ATM everyday?Do we hav enough Atm in naija for us to start collecting 20k daily?Becos even right now ,that one can collect 150k a day, space no even dey ATM

Right now I don't use ATM much anyway. What can you not pay for with POS, transfer and bank apps?

There are even utility and bill services on banking app that allows you to pay for your prepaid and postpaid electricity meters. DSTV, GOTV etal. You can shop online and pay Courier with transfer when he delivers to your door.

Yet Nigerians are queuing at utilities outlet with cash to pay their electricity and DSTV/GOTV bill.

Have they not tried for you people who love to wallow in backwardness? People like you bring to mind the saying you can force a horse to the river but cannot force it to drink.

This policy, a positive and progressive one, will "not come into fruition" according to you.

Yet it is your sort who will be loudest in public blaming Buhari, a single person, for all your woes whereas you reserve the right to be backwards, caveman-like and to reject evolutionary positive changes.

Na una body the thing dey. Not leaders alone. Most Nigerians have developed such negative outlook and habits to the extent they are useless and hopeless.

Most POS operators are concerned about the new CBN cashless policy, I personally think they shouldn't stress themselves and I think the new CBN policy is a good one for them.

Since a cashless policy is the primary goal of the CBN, if you are a pos operator, you can use this to your advantage, now that the government is encouraging a cashless system that means more business will come your way.

for instance, if someone wants to pay his children's school fees, that person can walk to any POS operator and do that, and you will be able to charge your usual transaction fee

if someone wants to pay for goods and they are far away from an atm or bank, they can now use your POS services to do that transaction

if someone wants to transfer money from their atm to their family member in another location, then it is easy for them to use your POS

people that want to receive cash can also use your POS service, they will transfer the money they need to your account and you give them cash while you take your commission

The CBN cashless policy will bring more customers to your POS Business, now people will be able to pay for anything through POS and you will cashout, you will get more customers than ever before.

Anyway, just see the big picture, fantasize, dream and think of how much money you will make from CBN cashless policy.
you don't know what you are talking about, pos is gone

The major business of POS is cash withdrawal before the new policy, now it will be cash withdrawal and sending of money.

There is limitations in cash withdrawal but no limitations when sending money from one account to another through atm, pos or internet banking. So that is where POS people can benefit from.

The logic is there will be more cashless transactions. So it benefits the POS guys also.
you forgot that is only few people who can't make transfer with their phones?Even cashier job position in banks is at risk, thy will loose their job.

This can't be true......Fine.....the customer's card are restricted to only 20k per day but customers who need more cash can transfer any amount to the POS Agent and get the cash equivalent. There is no restrictions to the amount you can transfer to someone. I think it's 5 or 2 million per day. Even before the CBN limit, most people especially the younger ones prefer to do transfer to card withdrawal. Just have it at the back of your mind that there will always be a mad rush for cash so the whole thing is to a large extent an advantage of the POS Agent. The only challenge the Agent will face is if there is no waiver or a review.....then it will be hard. But if there is a waiver or a review of say to 50/100k per day, it's to the advantage of the POS Agent.

POS will fade away.

Once you have withdrawn 20k at a sitting, you can't withdraw again for that day.

If a customer has, reach his cash withdrawal limit but his transfer limit has not be rrached. So he will make transfers to POS agent and get cash out.
Re: CBN Cashless Policy Is Good For POS Business by adelafe2019: 7:23am On Dec 20, 2022
The cashless policy is good because:

1.lt discourages kidnapping / armed robbery.

2. Most Nigerians earn less than 100k per month.Yet each person can withdraw up to 100k cash per week I.e. a total of 400k cash per month. That is still alright. Other transactions can be done in a cashless way at anytime and everyday.

The only major disadvantage is that for any amounts from 10k transfered into your bank account 50 naira will be deducted to pay Nigeria's trillions of naira debt according to the Central Bank.

So, if 20 customers or persons transfer 10k each to your account in a day,, 1000 NAIRA will be deducted for the FEDERAL GOVT. This results in double or triple taxation. This is because govts. deduct tax from workers salary,; 7.5% value added tax is paid on goods purchased e.t.c.

Then 50 naira is deducted everytime10k or more is deposited or transferred into one's bank account. Should innocent Nigerians be held responsible for inflated contracts, embezzled money and other financial atrocities caused by bad governance resulting into trillions of naira debt.?
