DeadPresidents: I think it's a bit shortsighted to say that India's economic growth is down to it's foreign remittances. And secondly, it's good leadership that knows how to utilize it's own foreign expertise. Something that funny enough only Obi has been talking about amongst all 3 candidates. India has become a capitalist economy also an Asian tech hub powering south east Asia. They've built powerful global conglumerates. India is now a producing nation from a formerly import depending economy. They now make cars, tech, generators and the likes.. Saying that good leadership did not play a role is a very bad take. I agree with you that they also have cultural issues. Hindus and moslems have been at each other's necks for Soo long but the fact that they have grown inspite of these is testament to my point that economic growth can happen inspite of these unlike people saying that Nigeria is too divided to succeed. |

OkpaNsukkaisBae: Bros, let's not make this excuse, the sole reason why many states are in abject poverty. You can't tell me that the reason Abia state is the way it is, is because Northerners are destroying bottles of Star and Gulder. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

nihilistjnr: I understand you, bros But with the way corruption is rooted in every tribe, state and even religion, nothing would change even if it is 5 states I agree that we have weak institutions, and the people are at the mercy of these thieves. But then, this is not a problem that regional government will solve. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Donjazet2: Biafra would be easier to achieve and you'd get the support of all of Southerners when those wanting Biafra realise the South South wants no part of Biafra. Not Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Edo. Certainly not Bayelsa too. Uncertain about all parts of Delta. Once the Biafrians stop insulting and blackmailing their 'cousins' in the SS into joining them, it'd be better for everyone. We can still be relatives without living in the same house or with same surnames. Sometimes loving from a distance is better. Biafra is a very bitter issue for many tribes in the South. Every time the propositioners bring it up and use a "one people" rallying cry, they pry open old wounds. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

diggz: Wetin you dey talk? Okonjo iweala is from Delta state but identities as Igbo. Don't forget that these "states" are just geopolitical boundaries drawn by the military for cynical purposes. Igbos are certainly not limited to only the 5 eastern states. There are igbos in rivers state from ikwerre to ahoda axis, igbos in calabar, communities that share boundary with abia state, igbos in kogi southern kogi state, communities that share boundary with igala people both in Anambra and ebonyi. And igbos in delta of course. Igbos are the second or third largest tribe in the entire country. The thing is that the Biafra war has created a kind pf negative image to the Igbo brand, so those outside the artificially creates state lines seem ashamed to identify as igbos. But in all, I person think that tribal identities and affiliationsarw entirely useless. I look forward to a Nigeria that speaks only one language, sees no difference between themselves and see themselves primarily as same group of people. It's not only when whites insult Africans we begin to feign togetherness. |
