Please do you have any idea why I was scored zero?
pic1 my project on emas
pic2 how my project was passing all the checker marks, before the deadline
pic3 now this is what I see when I start a new test on the checker, after I was scored zero, after the deadline

Alright, I will.

You probably destroyed your environment. After you finished your task. Next time don't destroy your she'll once you're done and have checked everything. Just close it. And move to the next task. It's a regular mistake people make when they just start.
Re: My Software Engineering Journey In ALX Africa by ThankGod001(m): 6:29pm On Nov 27, 2022
I didn't destroy the sandbox, what I did was, after finishing the tasks (confirming with the checker) I type exit in the terminal and that's all. It's the same thing I did for my Git task and was scored the complete 200%. Sha I will become more careful next time

Did you run checkers on your code after you were done?
Also, did you destroy your sandbox? That's the closest reason as to why you have zero.
Re: My Software Engineering Journey In ALX Africa by ThankGod001(m): 4:09pm On Nov 28, 2022
I always run the checker till it marks me DONE. I don't click done myself
I didn't destroy the sandbox, I only use the exit command

One month probation started today, I have done all the tasks and checker has marked me done, {Pics below} this time I'm not using the exit command, I just close the webterminal tab, lemme see if I will be marked incorrectly

I have figured out why I was scored 0
what actually happened:
Vi, Emacs and Git projects all use same sandbox
After doing Vi and Emacs successfully. I moved to Git project, made an error, so I destroyed the sandbox
I then did the Git project not knowing the codes for VI and Emacs have been destroyed cheesy

My first projects have been marked today and I got full marks
Please guys don't destroy ur sandbox, ever! If you make a mistake, just delete the project files and start over

Well... I knew that was the closest possiblity.
Destroying your sandbox is same as destroying all ur progress. Rather than destroying, make use of the "rm -r directory_name" to delete the directory or file.

So we just start SQL today and the tasks are 24hrs.

I just got back from classes so I'm currently on it. It covers:
- Introduction of database
- Types (relational and non-relational (Nosql)database)
- CRUD - Create, Read, Update, Delete
- More on Relational and Nosql

I didn't know... It's a good thing I noticed early, lesson learnt grin

Alright, I will.
Hey there, how are you doing. I haven't seen you on LinkedIn and GitHub.
I want to ask if you're still being forced to make use of emacs and vi concurrently? I want to know if I can completely abandon emacs and focus on vi. Thanks

This question is like asking what do you think the average salary of unilag software engineering graduate will be. ALX is just a learning avenue, the kind of company you secure a job with will determine your salary

I wouldn't make use of the word forced but you have between emacs or vim to pick the one you're most compatible with.

This is because you're working in the Sandbox which is like a terminal. Emacs and vim are a faster way to create files and inserts your code into them.

Okay thanks. It means bye bye to emacs for me

Good day all. Please I would like to make some clarification. I started this alx program in November, but I can't continue again. Do I need to deactivate my account before registering for January cohort or can I just register immediately? Kindly help

If you're yet to reach the 80% score, they will deactivate it for you.

Good Morning Everyone

My website is now running, you can check it out as I will be posting career articles, Tech News and interesting stories.

http: //traceyshub. wordpress. com/

Please close the space to access the website.
Have a great day.

Also, there was a govt scholarship issued to Nigerians recently and the duration is supposed to be for three months.

That is a very short time to learn Blockchain. Meaning, they require experience Blockchain devs and they have a requirement similar to ALX. That you have to be among the top 30% people in the program in the first two weeks to continue.

Although I'm not taking the program, I am in the group, so I will be updating how things goes in my Website.

Do ensure to follow please.

For those who are curious if the program link is still available, it is actually closed.

I apologize for not saying it earlier.

There's also another Blockchain Program going on for 12 months being sponsored by Binance and Ultiva. The first six months is for software development while the second six months is for Blockchain development.

Let me get the link.

Hello everyone, hello Anonymous6o6!

I applied for the ALX program yesterday and got accepted this morning.

I'm among those who'd be starting January next year. I'd like to know how many more of us would be starting then so we can connect.

And Tracey, I'd appreciate it if you could provide me with the materials I'd be needing from the onset.

According to IBM

Blockchain is a shared, immutable ledger that facilitates the process of recording transactions and tracking assets in a business network.

An asset can be tangible (a house, car, cash, land) or intangible (intellectual property, patents, copyrights, branding). Virtually anything of value can be tracked and traded on a blockchain network, reducing risk and cutting costs for all involved.

I can't estimate the number of people that would be starting but I suggest you prepare ahead.

You have to learn the following ahead:
- Emacs
- Vim
- git and GitHub
- Shell
- Pseudocode and algorithms
- C programming language

Learn them in this order
