Tinubu has said he would remove subsidy. Atiku also appears to be coming round. Abiola of the PRP has said it bluntly that he would remove it.

Where were you since beginning of this year when the scarcity/queue started? I don't know of other states, but here in Abuja, we have not had a complete 30days free of queue since January.

They should hold on… Obi is coming to remove subsidy so that their business can become profitable again and the government will also have funds for other critical projects.

But I want Nigerians to remember that we wouldn’t be talking about subsidy by now if not for Tinubu’s malicious and wicked brand of opposition politics.

In January of 2012, President Jonathan removed subsidy and introduced Subsidy Reinvestment Programme (SURE-P) to cushion the effect of the removal of subsidy, but Tinubu raised his army of urchins and led them to occupy Ojota in Lagos while Buhari and Elrufai engaged in their own walk of shame in Kaduna.

Today, that Buhari is the one crying for subsidy removal while Tinubu has lost his voice, and you say these guys are not wicked and evil?

I’m waiting to see Tinubu become president so that I will interrogate the existence of the God of Justice who repays all man according to their deeds.

Tinubu will never reap good for his evils, amen.
Tinubu was doing all that to frustrate Jonathan's administration. He knew the removal of subsidy was the best option but because he too had been eyeing aso vila, unknown to many, he decided to look the other way. Useless man

The sector has lost money selling fuel at cheap prices all year round. Losses have to be recouped.

The thing you Nigerians need to get is that you cannot sell something that should cost N200 and more at N180 and below, and expect miracles.

Even NNPC that brings in fuel at above N250 and sells it below N200, how long is it going to sustain that? And guess where the money comes from?

Oga, in 2011, my mind was woken up to how subsidy was wrecking Nigeria by the words of NOI, SLS, and company.

Before then, I backed subsidy totally. I can even recall the arguments over subsidy from as long as 1993, and being in fuel queues from the early 1990's....

I don't back GEJ, bUHARI, TINUBU, Atiku, Obi, and have never voted PDP, or APC.

So, take your question to a real APC supporter.

Ever since I read Okonjo Iweala’s book “fighting corruption is dangerous” I’ve stop disturbing myself about fuel and crude oil palava because it’s never ending.

The kind of corruption going on in NNPC, within oil marketers, and the ministry of petroleum resources will never allow any solution in sight.

NNPC is so powerful that whatever they do is final and cannot be queried or checkmated. Any president that really wants to solve the oil revenue generated and fuel crises palava will need to seat on NNPC neck and the ministry of petroleum resources because those two are just too powerful.

Corruption and wayo in NNPC happens when you stop people from making profit selling fuel

If you were doing business as a baker, and it cost you N1000 to bake a loaf of bread, and you want to sell the bread at N1500 to make a profit of N500, and then government comes in and tells you to sell that bread at N500 and take a subsidy of N500...MEANING...you make no profit...meanwhile the following month, the cost of baking that bread goes up to N1200...and government is still insisting on you selling it at N500...

Yes, you would do wayo too. And you would violently resist anyone trying to stop you. You have mouths to feed, workers to keep employed, a factory to keep well functioning.

While tinubu and Buhari did help in mobilizing support against subsidy removal in 2012...which happened, only partially...the fact is, most Nigerians do not support subsidy removal.

Back then, people were of the opinion that we were earning enough money from oil to fund subsidy (not true)....so they marched. All people saw was that fuel was once N65, now it is N140. Even the N97 that it came down to....

Buhari and tinubu just joined in for politics. In politics, you sometimes do the Machiavelli style to get into power.

But the truth is, if subsidy had gone in 2012, by now the same Buhari and Tinubu would be reaping the benefits.

Subsidy is loved by Nigerians. My worry is, whoever takes over, even if it is your Obi, if they attempt to remove subsidy, Nigerians will forget their divisions and remove them. Buhari tried to remove subsidy early this year. DSS warned him of potential national uprising. That's how subsidy is. Nigerians want it. Nigerians want cheap fuel. Politicians hear and obey. Even at the expense of our economy.

Regardless of the situation we have to get rid of subsidy.......obi would be a national hero if he wins and manages to keep his promise of removing subsidy...

Subsidy in itself is not bad, but in Nigeria it is a BIG/MEGA scam.....I cant begin to enumerate the many flaws.......it has to be removed. Nigerians must prepare for hard times ahead........if we insist on subsidy we will continue to suffer, while a few people would become God's, because we are not actually benefitting from the so called subsidy.

Amen, I hope that whoever takes over, they better remove it.

But the problem is, and God knows I am not blind to it....is that the mass price increases that would result....

But even then, the subsidy thing is like a monster, it demands more and more and more food...and it cannot be stopped.

Removing it is the right thing to do. The poor are not benefiting from it. They have years and years to correct it. All they needed to do was flood buses out all over the country, then find a company to manage it then take it out. Subsidies diesel for the buses companies. Very simple if you want to drive it's your problem, if you can afford it good if can't go and get the bus, Abacha did that.

You don't know how much NNPC brings the fuel into the country.... grin

Petrol landing cost in Nigeria is N510 per liter. N510.

NNPC then sells it at N148.....

And last year June it was N361.....

Let us not forget that it costs more money to transport the petrol...since petrol trucks run on diesel...whose prices are higher nowadays...at N800 and rising.

The cost is becoming too much for NNPC to bear...hence the queues. DSS is just pretending that it is a matter of greedy Nigerians....

Even if they refine fuel in Nigeria...it won't cost less than N400.

Keep on calling me evil. Meanwhile...petrol costs MONEY.

This is where the issue is.

Its a matter of trust.

They remove the subsidy, the price of fuel goes up and the things they said they would do to alleviate the hardship is not done. So we suffer both the subsidy removal and the lack of provision to alleviate the hardship.

So Nigerians are opposed to the removal because we don't trust these politician thieves.

Now they are experimenting a new dimension. There is subsidy in the budget and the fuel price is now above N240 per litre. Is that not develish? Those collecting subsidy are collecting while the fuel price is going up.

Right Now IMO Obi is the only one that we can even try to trust to do the needful.

Let tribal, religious and ethnic sentiments no becloud our judgement in this election.
